Took today off for a much needed haircut & highlights & treated myself to lunch at the coffeeshop/cafe at Neiman Marcus. Seems like a #bossbabe sort of lunch 😉that fits my current read on a woman‘s experience as a top earner in MLM company. The book also led to an interesting discussion about MLMs & cults with my stylist whose sister has apparently tried many of them. Off to run the rest of my errands…

We made it home in time to be with #Isabel. Her pain meds help, but it‘s apparent that the fluid in her lungs is getting worse. She heads to the vet for the final time at 3pm.

While I wait with her, I thought I‘d review Cultish, a fascinating look at the language surrounding fanaticism. I loved the broad focus on how cultish language & traits appear (to varying degrees))in fitness & wellness programs, social media influencers, and #BossBabe MLMs.

I remember when LuLaRoe was HUGE amongst moms where I live. I always thought the leggings were ugggly, and I abhor MLMs. But I couldn‘t resist watching this documentary this week.

#TIL the company pressured some of their top sellers to fly to Tijuana for weight loss surgery, and convinced families to go all in, leaving stable day jobs so they became fully reliant on LuLaRoe income. This #BossBabe company was TOXIC. #NFN21

alisiakae @lele1432 Yes! I‘m in a few mom groups on FB, and most of them don‘t allow people to promote their MLM business. That‘s where I first heard about this documentary! 3y

alisiakae @EvieBee @kayla.Adriena I‘ve actually had to distance myself from a few “friends” over the years who would contact me incessantly about their MLM. Rodan & Fields, Shaklee, and some of the nail ones are popular where I live. I don‘t know anyone selling Monat, but my mom gets bombarded by the Norwex sellers. (edited) 3y

5feet.of.fury It‘s so wild. I have a friend who got in on the early side of LULA and made a good amount of money for a while, but I know plenty of people who didn‘t.. and I remember the stinky legging debacle. 3y
