My next #readyourkindle pick this month is this new release and second book in the series. We are left with tons of unanswered questions and a cliffhanger ending. I still love our FMC Lin and of course the dynamic between Kel and Prince Conor. This one focused on their alliances and relationships with a hint of magic which I always love. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is not your typical Lisa Jewell book; if you‘re expecting a thriller, you won‘t find it in these pages. What it is - quite a dark and rather disturbing read about one of the most dysfunctional families ever fictionalized (is that a word?). Not sure what it says about me, but I loved it and couldn‘t put it down. #readyourkindle

CBee @AmyG you‘d like this if you haven‘t read it already. 👯 2d
AmyG Oooooo. Sounds FUN! Thanks for thinking of me. (edited) 2d

Why Sinatra Matters | Pete Hamill
post image
Pickpick

Republished in honour of what would have been Sinatra's 100th birthday in 2015, this is a personal tribute to 'Ol Blue Eyes' himself. Although it obviously centres around the man & his career, it also covers Italian immigration into America & Sinatra's first brush with prejudice, the rise & fall of Prohibition (& by extension the Mob), & the Second World War. (continued)

OutsmartYourShelf I'm not what you would call a Sinatra fan, he was more my mum's cup of tea, but I found this surprisingly interesting to read. It's fairly short at just under 200 pages but it's a good introduction if you have a longer biography about Sinatra to read (which I do).

The author was apparently a friend/acquaintance of the man before he died & his admiration & regard for Sinatra comes through his writing.

OutsmartYourShelf The focus is obviously on Sinatra's music, but I was surprised that his dealings with the Kennedys & the 'Rat Pack' were not covered here & I'm still not sure what the actual truth was when it comes to certain rumoured connections. A good read though. 4🌟

I was able to read two of my #ReadYourKindle books in March. Hopefully April will be even more productive. 😊📚

Thanks, Cydney! 🩷

Hope you‘re doing well and enjoying our warmer weather and have been safe from our stormier days. ☀️⛈️

CBee Yay! We‘re hanging in! The tornadoes that hit a couple weeks ago missed us, but one hit Calera which is just south of us. Scary 😳 2d

Another great installment in the Finlay Donovan series - love these! #readyourkindle

Hooked_on_books I love them, too! 1w
CBee @Hooked_on_books yay! Have you read them all? 1w
Hooked_on_books I have! I psychotically wait for each new one to come out and jump on it immediately. 🤪 I managed to get the latest one early from NetGalley. My mom loves them, too, so I read them to her. She loves my Vero voice. 😬 1w
CBee @Hooked_on_books ohhhh I‘d love to hear your Vero voice! 1w

A great #readyourkindle pick! I loved being back in this world with these characters! Paige is learning from past mistakes and leaning on her found family. My favorite part of this series is the world building! Even though it is fantasy, her novels always feel very realistic and this series is set in the not so distant future. Now to wait another year for the next in the series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

CBee A year? Ughhh 1w
