1. Today was a lot. Just put away my computer and tomorrow is looking to be more intense (6 hours of being on an interview panel for a new principal after 4 hours of teaching—ugh).
2. I find most affirmations cheesy, but many of my students love them. Whatever works to get ya through the day🤷🏻‍♀️ My fav: It‘ll be good. It‘ll be great. It‘ll be over.
@Kerrbearlib #MentalHealthMonday

Kerrbearlib I agree, whatever gets you through your day! I hope things went well with the interview panel - that sounds like a lot! 23h

1. Tired; I had a fairly busy day: cleaned the inside of my car, did laundry, drove my grandpa to see my grandma (they live in separate facilities), and went to a book club meeting.
2. They‘re ok, I suppose. I often repeat things like “It‘s okay” while rubbing a tchotchke or my Joy for All robotic ginger cat.

Kerrbearlib Sounds like a busy day indeed! I hope you've been able to get some rest. 23h

1️⃣ Well, it‘s 7PM & I just shut down my computer for the day & have a slamming headache. It was definitely a MONDAY.😵‍💫🤕🥴

2️⃣ I don‘t use affirmations much but think they can be helpful to remember when you need them. When I‘m doubting myself in general, I will say or write down, “I am enough.” When it‘s a bad day at work & I‘ve messed up, I remind myself that “I am growing and learning every day.” Sometimes it helps ⬇️

DebinHawaii Sometimes it just makes me laugh at myself & not take it so seriously. And it‘s really hard not to take it all seriously—things are such a dumpster fire lately. 😬 P.S. A friend gave me the tagged book that has some affirmations in it. It‘s actually quite cute & I have a fondness for frogs. 🐸 🍄 💚 (edited) 3d
Kerrbearlib That book looks so adorable - thank you for sharing! I love the affirmation “I am enough.“ I agree, it is hard not to take it all seriously these days. 23h

1.I had a hard morning because of some tax problems but after later therapy I chose to focus today on things that I enjoy for myself and own them regardless of others.
2. Positive affirmations don't do much for me except I do get help out of biblical ones.

1) The news today was horrific so I bounce between anger and despair. However, I worked today and the sun shone bright and warm so I did have breaks from the doom & gloom.
2) I have never been able to use positive affirmations, just not my thing.

@Kerrbearlib

Blueberry Dang, now I don't want to check the news. ☹️ 3d

1. I want to kick Bukele right in the nuts and then say “oopsie.” Other than that, I‘m feeling okay I guess.
2. I agree with the idea of affirmations in theory, but I don‘t really use them myself…not even badass affirmations. Maybe I should look into it?
#mentalhealthmonday

BarbaraBB I wouldn‘t say oopsie and I‘d first kick T 3d

#MentalHealthMonday check in

#1. I‘m feeling anxious & overwhelmed. There‘re lots I want to do & I don‘t know where to begin. I wish I had a personal assistant to help me stay on track. 😩
#2. It depends on the affirmation, but overall I‘m not a fan. I especially don‘t like ones about money and success. Positive thinking is helpful tool in many situations, but it won‘t make us rich or solve all our problems. ⬇️

Kerrbearlib I only use positive affirmations if they feel sincere and realistic. A part of me already has to believe them. I like some affirmations from this book. Example: “I am self-defining.” I believe this, but sometimes I forget & must remind myself.

CatLass007 I haven‘t had much sleep in the last three or four weeks. But last night I slept 2.5 and 1.5 hours, the most I‘ve slept in that entire time. It‘s still not enough but I hope I‘m turning the corner. I‘m skeptical about positive affirmations. I don‘t believe that we can “manifest” money or a good job. But if I‘m working to build different habits, improving my posture, for example, then I find they can help. 3d
Kerrbearlib @CatLass007 that‘s great you were able to get more sleep. Every bit helps! I agree that we can‘t “manifest” money or good jobs. What things do you do to improve your posture? I‘m working to improve mine as well. (edited) 3d

CatLass007 I have a postit note at my computer and at other locations where I sit for extended periods with an affirmation that says “I have good posture.” It‘s a gentle reminder. 3d
Kerrbearlib @CatLass007 I love that - maybe I‘ll try it too! 3d
CatLass007 I tend to beat myself up so in a situation like this I definitely believe in positive affirmations. 3d
TheBookHippie If I was close I‘d come teach you all my organisational things 🙃 my daughter wants me to teach a class and write a book. 3d
Kerrbearlib @TheBookHippie let me know if you write that book - I will definitely read it! 😀 What are some of your favorite organizational things? 2d
TheBookHippie @Kerrbearlib in January I make menus for the entire year for supper only. IF I‘m feeling out of control or overly anxious - Everyday before bed I write in my todo list pad of what tomorrow looks like or needs doing and all day as I go about my life I write down what I did, end of day I compare the two lists. Every thing has a place. If it doesn‘t I make one for it- or put it in weekend chores as a problem to solve. Controlling what you can helps. 2d

1) Although I had to work it was 73 degrees today and lovely. A beautiful day goes a long way in improving my mood.
2) I‘m going with neutral leaning towards positive. I keep the negative to a minimum and have some trusted sources I follow for action tips and feel goods. Except for Litsy which is my happy place.
3) Yes, even the positive can be a bit much weirdly so breaks are necessary.

1. Feeling pretty good mentally but fighting a terrible cold and cough.
2. It can be positive or negative. I am on instagram as I follow other knitters, it‘s my yarn Litsy, so to speak. But if I‘m not careful I can go down political rabbit holes 😝
3. Yes, and it is helpful to my productivity and anxiety to put my phone down. Everything is in my phone, including audiobooks so total divorce would be tough.

TheBookHippie Oh no!!! Hope you get well soon!! 3w

Kerrbearlib Sorry I never replied here! I am like you - a total phone divorce would not work because of my audiobooks. 23h
