1. I was doing well then volunteered at an event last night and dissociated. Too many people trying to run the class. Left early.
2. Grounding techniques (smell, hear, see, feel), meditations on the Calm app, reading a book somewhere can see trees.
3. Bibliotherapy

#MentalHealthMonday a bit late🫣 @Kerrbearlib

1. Overwhelmed with projects of my own making🙄
2. Eating right, working out, Calm app, news diet, focusing on things I can control/improve in my life
3. Asking Littens for book recommendations for specific mental health topics

If you‘re reading, I hope you‘re doing well. Consider yourself tagged😊 even though it‘s Tuesday. Just do the time warp again!

Amiable Do you like the Calm app? I've been debating getting it. What do you like/not like about it? 1d
TheBookHippie I so get number one! 24h
Blueberry @Amiable I love the Calm app. It has tons of soundscapes, bedtime stories, meditations, body scans, music. I get it free through my Kaiser insurance. I use it almost daily. 18h

AlaMich @Amiable I have had Calm for a while and find it very helpful. It has something for everyone. I especially find some of the sleep stories put me out pretty quickly. 16h
Amiable @Blueberry @AlaMich Thanks for your input! Did you consider any other meditation/sleep apps before deciding on Calm? I was also looking at Headspace. (edited) 15h
AlaMich @Amiable I didn‘t really. It was sort of an impulsive decision. I think the variety was what decided me. And like @Blueberry, I use it almost every day. 15h
MemoirsForMe @DogMomIrene @Amiable @AlaMich @blueberry I‘ve been on the Insight Timer app for years and really like it. Great meditations for sleep plus you can search for meditations by your favorite gurus and authors: davidji, Sharon Salzburg, Thich Nhat Hahn, Tony Brady. Lots of free meditations too. 11h

1. I'm feeling well mentally, but I still have severe chronic knee pain, despite visits to 2 orthopedic doctors and bilateral knee replacement surgery 2.5 years ago.

2. I walk 2.5 miles twice a day

3. How to maintain a positive outlook. Sorry if you've already covered that. I'm new to your posts on mental health.

@Kerrbearlib #mentalhealthmonday

tpixie Chronic pain is very hard. Have you tried a self propelled walking backward treadmill? I‘ve heard that those are good for knees… 1d
MaGoose @tpixie I haven't heard of that. I'll look into it. I'm thinking of joining the Y so I can go swimming in their pool. 1d
tpixie @MaGoose swimming is a great idea 💡 Non- jarring! 1d
TiredLibrarian I'm sorry about your chronic pain. 2.5 mi. twice a day is impressive! 22h
BooksandCoffee4Me Had right knee fully replaced last spring and having the left one fully replaced next month. No more cortisone shots and, yes, swimming is so good! Take care. I‘ll pray for you. 21h

1. Mentally, I'm OK. Physically, I'm still sick with the flu.
2. Baths, reading and walks. I got a walking pad for Xmas and I like to play YouTube videos of nature walks and The Shire.
3. Maybe book recommendations for specific mental illnesses that MCs have.
@Kerrbearlib

TheBookHippie Hope you‘re back to health soon! 1d
DogMomIrene Ohh, I hadn‘t heard of walking paths videos. Will check them out. I have a few playlists of ambient sounds, some with piano, that I‘ll play when I‘m reading. But having a walking path would be a nice change of pace. Thanks! 1d

#MentalHealthMonday checkin!

1. If I ignore the news, things are good today. Overall, though, I‘m feeling tired…so much stress and uncertainty. Sigh..,

2. When I remember, meditation. Taking breaths and trying to ground myself, especially when my anxiety flares up. I‘m also trying to eat better—less chocolate, more almonds!

3. I think any space to talk about mental health, no matter the topic, is beneficial. ❤️

Aims42 I mean, Hershey‘s Chocolate + Almond bars are pretty fantastic and the protein in them is pretty decent! They‘re practically healthy 🤩😆 Whatever you gotta do to get through these next 1,440 days 👍💛🧡🩷 2d
kspenmoll Roasted a chicken tonight with mashed potatoes & peas-total comfort food! Snuggled with my kitties. The book I finished tonight was lovely kind of a meditation on beauty, grief, the mundane we deal with day to day, the magical, the exalted, the intangible, the spiritual in interacting with art. (edited) 2d
Librarybelle @Aims42 That is so true! 😂 My latest favorites are the Skinny Dipped line of chocolate dipped almonds and cashews. So good! 2d

Librarybelle @kspenmoll Sounds wonderful! And, the book is on my to read list. I may have to move it up the list! 2d
Aims42 @Librarybelle Oooo! I‘ll look for those!! 2d
Librarybelle @Aims42 They‘re delicious and very addictive! 2d
Aims42 @Librarybelle Yum, I bet! Love when snacks are healthy & delicious 😍😋 2d
MemoirsForMe @Librarybelle @Aims42 Maybe make that a dark chocolate Hershey bar. That will be even healthier. And yes! Together we‘ll get thru those 1440 days somehow. 💪🏻👊🏻🙏🏻 1d
Aims42 @MemoirsForMe Love that idea!😋 1d

1)Stressed. I have a upcoming procedure that I'm trying to get ready for and it's one mess after another getting ready for it.
2) limiting social media when possible, I have a guided journal I'm working on and of course making sure to drink water!!

1. Tired physically and emotionally
2. I usually journal, go for walks, and do CrossFit. Something new I‘m trying recently is breathwork/meditation.
3. What books people have read on the topic of mental health/psychology, maybe advice people are willing to share that they‘ve gotten from a therapist that was a game-changer.
