BarkingMadRead @BookwormAHN King actually banned it himself. I didn‘t realize that. It‘s not available for sale anymore, I‘m not sure if libraries carry it. 2d

BookwormAHN They have them on ebay starting at around $50 and I found mine on alibris for around that price back when this first started. 2d

Fortifiedbybooks I won't be able to participate this month, The book isn't for sale (other than costly collectibles) and my library doesn't have the individual title or the collection. 21h

'Salem's Lot (Movie Tie-In) | Stephen King

Really good, funny how King was somewhat self referential on his 2nd published book.

Scary vampires take over a small town & it‘s up to a few characters (including a writer, teacher & comic book obsessed kid) to fight back.

I love a scary, “classic rules” vampire.
I lost track of some of the towns people here or there but it was a good read. #losersclub @BarkingMadRead

5feet.of.fury @BarkingMadRead SO many. And switching sometimes between last name/first name throws me if they haven‘t been mentioned in a while… he was naming off the neighbors, I‘m like “wait, who? Oh well.” 5d

TieDyeDude I liked that everyone knew about the vampire “rules“ from pop culture, but couldn't be sure if they actually worked or not. I'm used to more modern, action heavy vampire fights, but this was a good slow-burn thriller. 5d

I enjoyed this. I see what he was going for with the excerpts from news reports and hearings, but I don't think it was very effective, since it didn't really add much to the story and the subplot of trying to bury the story didn't really lead anywhere. I also didn't love the choppy editing to insert these asides. The story was solid, though, and the buildup was very tense. #losersclub @BarkingMadRead

so-so

3✨ Going in with a few spoilers I expected bullying, and telekinesis. I did not expect it to hit my feels as much as it did. Typically every girl gets her period around the age of 12. I know for me it was a difficult transition, but for Carrie it was so much worse! This plays on real feels of mine as a kid, and the worst bullies on the face of the planet. It has me thinking who was the real “monster”. #LosersClub

November's #LosersClub #buddyread was a very atmospheric read. Very creepy, disturbing but thrilling read. It's my 1st time reading this and it's one of his best horror books.
I particularly enjoyed the nod to Bram Stoker with the epistolary record of Charles Boone, 1850. It certainly added more context to the longevity of evil at 'Salem's Lot.
