The graphics are getting a little more cartoonish but the story is a lot better than the illustrations. In this volume, we read how the Trashcan man get to Vegas to meet Flagg, Mother Abigail disappears, the main characters form a ad hoc committee and we see Harold getting worse with his mind. Love the story and will continue with the graphic novel series.

TieDyeDude Nice. I have the full series, but I haven't started it yet. I only just read the book a couple years ago, wanted a little distance before diving back into that world. 11mo

So happy I picked this back up to read again. This volume is basically the group walking towards finding Mother Abigail and the trials and tribulations they go through to get there. Graphics are amazing and of course the story is as well.

Just curious, what is everyone‘s favorite #stephenking book? I‘ve read more Stephen king than any other author. He is my moms favorite writer so I remember seeing her curled up on the couch, lost in a king book day after day and it made me want to read. Now I do the same thing with his books. My favorite is The Stand due to its in depth story with twists of emotion sprinkled all through it. #spookystories #horror #horrorbooks #thestand #scarybook

JakeRuble @TrishB Salem‘s Lot may be my runner up! I LOVED that book. I also really enjoyed the Bill Hodges trilogy, much to my surprise as it was different than any other books of his I had read up until that time. I‘ve still not read The Shining or Dr Sleep! 4y

TrishB You do have to read The Shining before Dr Sleep, but I much preferred Dr Sleep. 4y

It took me 195 days, but I finally finished #TheStand. The story is captivating, heartbreaking, a bit frightening and not for the faint of heart. This marks the 16th Stephen King book that I‘ve read. Now I understand more about both the ABC and CBS All Access Adaptations. As for Randall Flagg, this isn‘t a spoiler but I learned more about his story. Now I need to read book two of the Dark Tower Series. #StephenKing

DogMomIrene @Violetsunrise84 That‘s what I‘m aiming for because I totally see how a book like this could be therapeutic. I may finish the CBS series just so I have a better picture of how heavy the themes and details may be. I watched the 1994 miniseries and I remember liking it, but I can‘t remember how much it disturbed me. Perhaps that‘s the best sign🤔 4y

Violetsunrise84 @DogMomIrene I liked that miniseries as well. The new one starts in the middle of the book but there are flashbacks and Easter eggs. Episode 4 is my fave so far. 4y

Now I‘m up to page 984 out of 1152. Not really surprised by some of the events that occurred. Karma embraced one character who definitely had it coming. There were a few other deaths that were sad. Other than that I think I‘ll be finished with this book before I watch episode 4. #thestand #stephenking
