EadieB Frankie would stop by the VA and go to discussion groups and be told that only men were in Vietnam and fought in the war. Even her parents told her not to talk about the war. Kristin Hannah has written a book about all the women who served in Vietnam. The book is a great tribute to these women and one that should be read by all. Her best friends, Barb and Ethel, she met in Vietnam. They help her as best they can to overcome her inability to get 4mo

EadieB back to normal. There are many other parts of the book that I could write about but I think you should just get a copy and read it for yourself. It‘s a great book and there are three words that stand out: WE WERE THERE!

Andrew65 This will definitely make my list, think I read it in February or March. I think the book that has stayed the most with me this year. I really need to read more of her books and catch up on her back catalogue. I still remember with great affection the group read you lead for The Great Alone.

How women were treated in this book was abominable, included by her own family, but even worse how she was treated by other male Vietnam vets. 4mo

Not sure if there is anything left to say about this spectacular novel. I don‘t know what #KristinHannah puts into her writing, but it‘s always so entertaining and you just cannot put it down. However, I did like Great Alone & Four Winds a bit more than #TheWomen. She included the same twist twice, and I could have lived without the men drama.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

marleed Same. I really liked this book, the setting, the characters. But it lost a pointy tip on my star rating when bad-ass Frankie fell in love twice inside her grueling tour-of-duty. 14mo

Last year I bailed on this one. I gave it another shot. Not my favorite Hannah book. I‘ve loved all of the others I‘ve read but this one just never seemed to click.
