I read this book to help a group of my RSP kiddos with their literary essay. This is the third book from the Magic Tree House series that I've read. It was a quick read that was full of facts about Venice in Italy. It's a good fantasy book for kids. 3.5 ⭐️

CrowCAH It‘s a neat cover! Sometimes books do act as a house of safety where a reader can go and dwell! 3y

Not in the love camp. It wasn‘t bad, I enjoyed the creepy feel, the gothic atmosphere, and the suspense but it wasn‘t great. I enjoy reading books with no clear conclusions but the ending felt rushed. I also didn‘t like the big reveal of Rowan‘s backstory which didn‘t do anything to the story.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Sad when it doesn‘t live up to our hopes ... good job, though! ♥️👊🏻📚 4y

⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the book you need to read if you're interested in getting into the #realestate business. Greene lays out so many basic principles you need to be aware of. Even if you don't intend to follow his BRRRR strategy, he still provides a great road map to making the real estate world more understandable.

This is the story of a boy whose baby brother is sick and a wasp (or something in the shape of a wasp) offers to make him a new baby brother. The whole book is creepy and disturbing. I really enjoyed it, but it did make me want to call an exterminator to be safe.

A delicious, absorbingly haunting mystery. Beautifully written story set on an abandoned homestead in very rural Australia as our heroine slowly unravels several mysteries. Loved the descriptions of the countryside, all of the colorful characters, and good golly, did this one keep me guessing until the very end. Bonus points for giving me the heebie-jeebies near the end, too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Also, this was my #house book for #mandmchallenge2020. 😃

⬇️

sprainedbrain The only thing that kept me from giving this book 5 stars was the slightly Scooby-Doo confession at the end. 😂 5y

A charming memoir of an out-of-the blue decision to buy a run-down house in France. It includes a lot of animals, a lot of French food and and a lot of quirky French neighbours and customs - good fun!

I‘m including this for #france in #readingeurope2020, and also for #house/home for #m&m.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Oh nice this sounds like a good pick for the #houseorhome prompt for #mandmchallenge2020! I love books about France. 🇫🇷 5y

BarbaraBB Hi Helen, you‘re quiet this week, all well? X 5y
squirrelbrain Hi @BarbaraBB thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately my lovely mother in law passed away on Thursday evening. She had been suffering with MND so, whilst it was expected at some point, it actually happened much sooner than anyone thought. 💔 My husband and his family are all coping well though, it‘s such a terrible disease that it‘s quite a relief that she‘s no longer suffering. Helen x 5y
BarbaraBB I am so sorry for your loss. It is a terrible disease indeed, it must have been so hard for all of you and your mother in law herself to cope with. Wishing you lots of strength now and in the sad times ahead. 😘❤️ (edited) 5y
squirrelbrain Thanks Barbara, your kind thoughts are much appreciated 😘 @BarbaraBB 5y
