Perfection. This special edition. The audiobook. Just everything about this one is so perfect. I especially loved roommate Reagan and the humor she brought to the book. Like how she couldn‘t really handle the girls being twins and referred to The Shining and then asked which one was Zack and which one was Cody😂❤️

Ugly Love: A Novel | Colleen Hoover

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ugly Love is an emotional roller coaster and another phenomenal book written by Colleen Hoover. It captures the messy, addictive side of love. Colleen Hoover balanced heartbreak and hope with her signature intensity, giving her readers a story that is raw, passionate, and hard to put down. It‘s a quick read, but still lingers especially if you‘re a fan of romance that doesn‘t shy away from the painful parts on the way to healing ❤️‍🩹.

“It‘s the beautiful moments like this that make up for the ugly love.”

“There were moments I didn‘t care if I ever hurt again because being with you almost felt worth the pain.”

“Sometimes not speaking says more than all the words in the world.”

For years now, I‘ve just been logging the books I‘ve read and not writing reviews, and I want to change that. Call it an early New Year‘s resolution, but I‘m going to try and start posting here again with thoughts on the books I‘ve read!

I‘m so out of the loop now—who are people I should be following?

Suet624 Find books that you‘ve liked and follow those folks who liked the book too. 😊 3d
TieDyeDude I try to write a little something for anything I read. I've searched Goodreads sometimes and found that I read a book, but didn't review and remember nothing about it 😕 I'll check out the suggestion at the top of the home page sometimes, but mostly, like @Suet624 said, I'll go to the page for a specific book and look at who else posted about it. 3d
Merethebookgal @TieDyeDude I totally forgot about the suggestion option in the top left! And yes I‘ll check out my fave books, too 3d

Great story about the reality of college life - not all parties and sunshine - told with compassion, generosity and insight to a range of characters - students, RAs, administrators, professors. Its about how these people meet, interact (or not) and how no one can hide from their true self even when its painful.

What an incredible story. Even though there were some predictable plot points, that did not detract from the charm of this novel. There is friendship, love, loss, reunion, finality. I did cry just a little in a few spots, but, overall, the story left me feeling comforted. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Like many other Littens, I loved this!

I love how the author sprung surprises throughout - certainly there was a lot I didn‘t see coming. And, yes, I cried at the end.

I can‘t understand how this didn‘t make the ToB longlist. Hopefully, it will be on *some* kind of list - maybe the Women‘s Prize next year?

BkClubCare Oh, I thought it was on the long list! I probably added it in my head 🤪 1w
BkClubCare I loved all the literary references. 1w
ChaoticMissAdventures I read this as an arc and thought it was really special, glad to see people liking it (and also crying) 1w
sarahbarnes Can‘t wait for this one! 1w
BarbaraBB It should have been on the longlist! 1w

Loved it! I cried; it‘s rather heart-breaking 💔 LOTS of pie mentions! Strawberry Rhubarb, Pecan, etc. #LitPie

One thing I will need to find a print copy to look up the MC‘s address while in college: was it PI Street? Pie Street?

Library can have it back now. 4.5 ✨ I immediately put Writers & Lovers on hold. #Nov2025 Book106

BarbaraBB I loved it too and W&L is at least as good! 1w
