I think I missed the other two Oscar Nom list posts, so I‘ve done all three just now. Ive seen a total of 17, with 1963-1987 being my best at 10. But, the early years have some of my favorite movies ever - Gaslight, To Kill a Mockingbird, Captain Blood (OMG, Errol Flynn, Basil Rathbone, AND Olivia de Havilland?? HEAVEN!), Adventures of Robin Hood, and Philadelphia Story (KATE!!). This was fun @dabbe Thank you. #threelistthursday #tlt

dabbe YW! A wee trip down memory lane! GASLIGHT is one of my top faves of all time! Thanks for playing and sharing. 🎬🍿📽️ 2d

This was a good list! It was hard to pick favorites. I picked these because of good memories of watching them with friends in high school.
🩵 Broadcast News (I really like Albert Brooks, btw)
🩵 Dr. Strangelove
🩵 Barry Lyndon
One that I can't believe I still haven't seen:
🩵 M.A.S.H.

Thanks for the tag, @Eggs

dabbe Fab choices! M.A.S.H. is a hoot and a half! Thanks for playing and sharing. 📽️🍿🎬 2d

Lesliereadsalot I saw 79/100. Favorites include Nashville(loved the music and the characters), Coming Home (which I saw at the movies 17 days in a row, obsessed would be putting it mildly) and Midnight Express (scared me to death). 2d
Eggs 🩵💜💙 2d
Amor4Libros I got 10 this time!! 😂 2d
shortsarahrose 29 - I was pretty good on ones from the 1960s/70s, but not the ‘80s 2d
TheSpineView Thanks for the tag! 🥰💛🏷 2d
Deblovestoread Thanks for the tag! Will do 🥰 2d
BooksandCoffee4Me 30% but how fun to be reminded of the movies “Heaven Can Wait” and “Goodbye Girl!” 💛 2d
BooksandCoffee4Me @Lesliereadsalot Wow! “Coming Home” was so intense — how did seeing it so many times in two weeks affect you emotionally? 2d
DGRachel LOL. I‘ve heard of a ton of these but have only watched 10. Clearly, I dislike Academy Award winners as much as I dislike fancy book award winners. 🤣🤣 2d
dabbe @melissajayne I adore ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN. I've read the book numerous times, too! Thanks for playing and sharing. 📽️🍿🎬 2d

Lesliereadsalot I really had been oblivious to the Vietnam War and after seeing Coming Home the first time, I couldn‘t believe the war was going on around me and I felt compelled to see it over and over. I didn‘t know anybody who went to Vietnam, my parents never discussed it, it was so foreign to me. I‘ve never before or since felt so intensely about a movie. Totally blew me away! @BooksandCoffee4Me 2d
dabbe @Lesliereadsalot Thanks for sharing that. I was oblivious, too, and still have so much to learn about that tumultuous period. I never saw COMING HOME (added to my TBW list now) but BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY at least made me more aware. That and GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM. The humor helped. 😊 2d
BooksandCoffee4Me @Lesliereadsalot @dabbe I‘ve made a point of sincerely thanking veterans for serving. Saw a biker wearing a Viet Nam Vet jacket and stopped where he was and thanked him. He teared up and looked so surprised. They received so little when they returned. It shouldn‘t have taken a decade or two to thank them with the wall. I was in middle school during the war and now have known many Nam vets. Most do not want to share their stories. 2d
dabbe @BooksandCoffee4Me They bravely did their job and received nothing but hatred from most of us. Shameful. 😞 2d
Lesliereadsalot Very shameful! Our boys did not belong there. I‘ve seen all the Vietnam movies but Coming Home made the biggest impression as it‘s about the soldiers when they got back. You have to imagine what it was like for them and it‘s not a pretty picture. You guys are very thoughtful! @dabbe @BooksandCoffee4Me 🩷🩷 2d
BookmarkTavern Thanks for the tag! 1d
peaKnit 26! I have rewatched All The President‘s Men so many times I should count it twice! :) and on Golden Pond, such sweet memories watching this one. 🥰 1d
dabbe @Lesliereadsalot So are you! 🩵💙🩵 1d
dabbe @peaKnit #ditto feelings on both of your choices. I've just reread and rewatched ALL THE PRESIDENT'S to bring me comfort in this chaotic mess of a country we're currently living in. As @AmyG put it, Goldberg is our Woodward & Bernstein. 👊🏻 1d
peaKnit Amen! 23h
TheLudicReader 53/100. Did you know Children of a Lesser God was filmed in my hometown? Fun fact! So many flicks I love on that list but also so many flicks I am now too old to accurately remember whether I *actually* saw them or not. 🤣 48m

Apparently #FridayFilms isn't already a thing. I plan to watch Ingmar Bergman's Nattvardsgästerna (usually called 'Winter Light' or 'The Communicants' in the US) tonight with my adult daughter.

Absolutely devastated and heartbroken to learn that David Lynch, wonderful director, writer, film maker and artist extraordinaire, passed away yesterday.
He remains my favourite director and greatest inspiration. He will be greatly missed.

🌲☕ RIP David. Go on and explore the secrets of afterlife for us! ☕🌲

Yuki_Onna Along with Mark Frost, he was also the creator and director of Twin Peaks.
#TwinPeaksReadingChallenge exists only because of the dreamscapes & universe he created.

StaceGhost One of my favorite David Lynch quotes is about how we don‘t really have ideas. We just catch them like fish. 2mo

David Lynch has passed away at the age of 78. I know his movies weren't to everyone's taste, but I loved Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive and even his version of Dune. I remember being totally obsessed with Twin Peaks, until it all fell apart.

RowReads1 RIP! Twin Peaks rules! 2mo
The_Book_Ninja His Dune is a masterpiece 2mo
