A guided meditation inspired by a poem on Calm this morning. Love it! Nice way to start the day or get a 10 minute rest/recharge in. #PoetryMatters

Blake is one of my favorite poets from the Regency period.
“I must create a system, or be enslaved by another man's. I will not reason and compare: my business is to create.”

William Blake has been coming up in my life a lot recently, so I picked this up yesterday.
I adore Patti Smith as well, and I enjoyed her short introduction. 🌸
“Infant Joy”
“I have no name
I am but two days old.
What shall I call thee?
I happy am
Joy is my name,
Sweet joy befall thee!
Pretty joy!
Sweet joy but two days old,
Sweet joy I call thee;
Thou dost smile.
I sing the while
Sweet joy befall thee.”

#rocktober #welcometothejungle @Cinfhen @BarbaraBB Im thinking of this amazing creature of the jungle. "Tyger, tyger burning bright in the forrests of the night, What immortal hand or eye; Could frame thy fearful symmetry " #welcometothejungle & The Tyger by W Blake. ( pic my son did ).
Finished up Blake's Poetry over some veggie tacos, chips and salsa. There is a real beauty to his writing. I'll never forget the first time I read Sick Rose. Beautiful and moving.
In high school English class William Blake was one of the first poets I really felt drawn too. Excited to be reading this book. Love this one.
Went to the Oakland Noir event tonight at Books Inc. really loved it. Saw this gem in the window high up in a beautiful poetry display and had to have it.
You know those writers that make you feel like maybe everyone else is smarter than you? Blake had that effect on me. I really struggled to connect in any way with the famed Romantic poet's work, aside from a smattering of beautiful phrases, and it has left me feeling like maybe I just don't "get it". Has anyone else had that experience with Blake? Or, on the other side of that coin, any Littens out there who adore Blake?
I think @Rex would've liked this one. I'm going to miss our talks, Roberto.
When @melaniebarbosa texts you to say new books arrived at @TheBookmarkPR you drop everything and go. #PossibleBookHaul
First poetry collection of 2017. These William Blake poems were all selected by Patti Smith, so I am beginning them in a cozy coffee shop, as she would have it.
This is a poem that I have taped to my desk at work. It's a reminder for me to not let my happiness depend on just one thing. #poetry #seasonsreadings2016
