1-3. Loot from last week‘s makers mart & artist vendors. Post cards by Sara, who I‘m trading books with next month. I 💛them & the little bags/envelopes she makes from leftover paper. Favorite new print/card from Becky (it‘s so peaceful) who gives me free cards & positive vibes each time I see her. The cyanotype earrings I got from a new vendor, they are mother fern & beautiful. Joy from supporting local artists!

1. April 1 was Library Giving Day so I donated $5 to Houston Public Library & $5 to Harris County Public Library.
2. I ordered coffee from an online shop called Kitty Town Coffee. The proceeds from sales feed cats in shelters.
3. I signed up for a webinar about trees.
4. I made more progress in the #realmofelderlings buddy read.
5. I signed up for another webinar about birds.

Even without traveling to Hilo, it was a long busy week & there was joy,💛so here‘s my #5JoysFriday list:

1. I just finished this book that was like a sweet hug. Cozy fantasy brings me joy & soothes my soul.📚

2. This poke bowl I grabbed at lunch yesterday brought me lots of mouth joy.🐟

3. I left a little early today & got my hair cut & went to Barnes & Noble where I got 2 favorite joyful magazines.

4. Candy joy with a new peeling gummy ⬇️

A crazy week for work with 2 Hilo trips & all day meetings & when I got home last night I just crashed so, it‘s a Saturday #5JoysFriday list for me.

1. Good flights, a couple of upgrades, & seat-mate readers in the wild bring me joy. I love readers! 📚💛

2. Last Saturday on my field trip, a favorite Indian restaurant that was closed was reopening. 🎉 I got takeout & asked if they had their mango lassi & she gave me a free one & a big glass ⬇️

Today was long & jam-packed but I‘m finally done working & ready to share my #5JoysFriday list for this week!💛

1. This morning as I was getting ready there was a rather loud “lecture” going on between 2 birds outside my bathroom window. Identifying a Red-Vented Bulbul as the lecturer with the Merlin app gave me joy!🐦

Favorite foods give me joy! 😋
2. I ate 2 poke bowls this week &
3. had grilled smoked pork belly at a brunch with vendors.

It was such a fast work-filled week, not a lot of different types of joy in my #5JoysFriday list:

1. The morning sunrise from the plane takeoff yesterday was so pretty, the bad photo doesn‘t do it justice.🌅

2. I was behind this pretty & sleepy service pup in the boarding line. While I was sad to not be seated next to her it always gives me joy to see animals on planes! 🐕 ✈️

3. I went for a walk between meetings at our corporate office ⬇️

Happy Friday! It‘s not been a perfect week but there was joy! 💛 Here‘s my #5JoysFriday list:

1. I took a few PT0 days this week that were a joy even if I had to work on a project during them. ⬇️
2. It was a joy to not get work calls & work out of a coffeeshop to make it seem less work-ish & get fed & caffeinated.

3. An underrated joy is to see a book come out Tues, put a “notify me” on Libby, get the book added notification & be the first ⬇️

1. My walk-in shower was resurfaced and the missing grout from the shower bench was filled in. The leak I had came from my shower bench. The grout was missing from my shower bench but it‘s fixed now.
2. New Read Now books from St. Martin‘s Press
3. I‘m going to be doing a collaborative art project.
4. I joined a buddy read.
5. I cross stitched this Chicken on a cross stitching app called Cross Stitch World.

And another week it was. Here‘s my #5JoysFriday list:

1. A 4-Day work week brings me joy—I needed an extra day off. 💛

2. I got this little heart-shaped hot/cold pack from a vendor at a benefits summit. The rainbow colors & “Powered By Love” message is joyful.🌈

3. My local library brings me joy when they are open until 7 PM on Thursdays & my favorite librarian gave me this cozy fantasy ARC-extra joy! 📒💛

4. Got this fun botanical sticker,⬇️

My #5JoysFriday for this week:

1. Lunch for 1 with a book & a joyful bowl of delicious pho-noodle-y soup always brings me joy.

2-4. (2) Started up our Conscious Leadership program for 2025, led by our CEO. It gives me joy that our employee-owners (& I) can take advantage of this mindfulness training & I do find it helps with my stress when I apply the principles & techniques. (3) Coffee (in particular a cinnamon dolce latte with oatmilk & ⬇️

1. The Backstreet Boys were on the Today Show this morning. I recorded it and watched it tonight because I don‘t get up early.
2. I crocheted a rose.
3. My oracle card from my Unicorn oracle deck
4. My mom got me a stuffed animal and some chocolate for Valentine‘s Day
5. Taylor Bradshaw (an independent folk musician I listen to) set up his private discord group and I introduced myself to everyone in there.

My #5JoysFriday list for this week& #ValentinesDay

1. Went to a workplace wellness conference yesterday & it was really informative. We did some breath work in the afternoon session & it was a good asthma breathing day for me which always gives me joy.🧘🏻‍♀️💨

2. Since I was already in town, I got my hair cut after the conference & not being “shaggy” gives me joy. ✂️

3. I stopped at Barnes & Noble after my haircut & got ⬇️

1. I bought a rope basket at Costco to put my stuffed animals in.
2. My oracle card this week from my Unicorn oracle deck.
3. I picked up my new eyeglasses today at Costco. My prescription only changed a little bit but not that much.
4. Post Malone Oreos were released this month so we bought some at Costco today. They‘re good.
5. Before my mom and I left Costco, we bought their $1.50 beef hot dog with a drink. It was good.

TGIF! Yes, my #5JoysFriday lists are mostly food but it‘s been a tough few weeks & sometimes food is what I‘ve got to give me joy.🤷🏻‍♀️

1. My non-food pic is one my niece posted of her daughter in the park playground. She is a vibe & that brings me joy!🤩

2. Went to a meeting with vendors & they brought a box of pastries that included the buttery crisp kouign-amann which was well worth the bazillion calories.😋🥐

3. Since I didn‘t get a ⬇️

It‘s still Friday here& here‘s my list of joys for the week:

1. Between work & the state of the world, I thought that January would never end & it brings me joy it finally did. February has to be better, right?! 😬

2. The ocean of clouds as I flew home Tuesday with the Sun beginning to set & the mountain in the background.☁️🤍

3 I got the upgrade on the morning flight this trip, so coffee, cookies, my Kindle & another gorgeous sunrise.🌅

⬇️

1. I deleted the Tik Tok app off of my phone and I can‘t redownload it but I can still watch it through an internet browser.
2. It snowed here in TX for 1 day and I played in it for the first time ever. I had so much fun.
3. I washed my bear from childhood and brushed out its fur.
4. I wrote down book recommendations from Tik Tok.
5. The neighbor‘s cat is still visiting us.

Not going to lie, this has been another “what fresh hell is this?” kind of week so my #5JoysFriday list is a few bits that made it a bit better, starting with:

1. It‘s Friday! 🎉I set a hard stop for work at 4:30 PM so about 4 more hours to go.⏰

2. Another flight upgraded back from Hilo this week with my Kindle & a dragonfruit hard seltzer🤪

3. The last 2 nights have been 57-59 degrees C. & that means a blanket & not sweating at night. ⬇️

1. I decided to join the #realmoftheelderlings readalong hosted by @PuddleJumper
2. I went for a walk 2 days this week and made progress in my walking game called Walking Planet
3. I signed up for Tome since TikTok is getting banned
4 & 5 - I gave feedback to Taylor Bradshaw on what he should focus on next for his music this year and as a thank you gift to me, he sent me a voice memo of a new song in progress and song lyrics.

TGIF! What a long week. I‘m finally done with work for the day & ready to post my #5JoysFriday list:

1. I got an upgrade on Wednesday‘s Hilo trip & got to read in comfort & have a dragonfruit hard seltzer. 😋

2. I get joy from seeing readers in the wild & people reading books I enjoyed. She was reading Barbarian Days (I‘ll link it below)📚💛

3. Mid-week poke bowl joy!🐟😋💛

4. Team lunch with joyfully good chicken katsu with fried rice.😋

1. I crocheted this blanket a long time ago and it ended up turning into a hooded cape so I decided to put it on this bear that I have since it didn‘t have clothes to wear.
2. I figured out how to read Kindle books on my smart TV.
3 - 4. I got these things for Christmas.
5. My guy friend of 21 yrs sent me these stuffed animals for Christmas in the mail and I talked to him on the phone for 2 hrs.

It‘s still Friday for a few more hours here so I‘m on time for my #5JoysFriday post. I‘ve mostly been working long hours at home this week so not a lot of joyful experiences but here goes:

1. I saw this art journal online & wanted it. My Target happened to have it for $8.49. It‘s got lots of fun & creative prompts. 🎨🖌️

2. A bowl of ramen, gyoza 😋& my first book from 3. @JacqMac ‘s #AuldLangSpine list. It‘s joyful finding great new books!📚⬇️

It was a tough week that felt long, even being shortened by holidays. Yesterday I flew to Hilo to let someone go which always sucks & then came home & slept so I‘m late as usual with my #5JoysFriday post but here goes:

1. My travel was the best part of going to Hilo yesterday. I had the exit row to myself & of course, a beautiful sunrise.

2. Due to all the work travel I hit Platinum status which means an upgrade to First Class when available ⬇️

I‘m kind of making the late #5JoysFriday list a habit lately, but better late than never. Here‘s my list:

1. My Christmas Eve brunch of Mexican Street Avocado Toast was a joy but even better they finished it with a free warm chocolate chip kakimochi cookie with cereal milk.🍪🥛😋💛

2. Da Painted Tree by my house finally got its Christmas paint job- it‘s always a joy to see what‘s on it.❤️💚

3. My library e-book holds for the next books in 2 ⬇️

Another late #5JoysFriday post but here they are:

1. I received my Black Friday Grab Bag from #OnceUponABookClub & the mystery book (shown) looks good. Book mail is always joyful.📚💛

2. Really yummy lilikoi cheesecake served with lunch at board meeting- tastes of joy.😋

3. Fresh fish I ate this week—two examples: Ahi Bibimbap for lunch—the ahi & egg were cooked perfectly 😋 Dinner of Mochiko-crusted Ono. The mashed Molokai sweet potatoes & ⬇️

A day late with my #5JoysFriday post again this week. I‘ve been in lockdown mode getting documents & exhibits ready for our board meeting Tuesday in the midst of the rest of my job & sleeping when I‘m not working late. Joy did happen, (mostly food😋😉) so here goes:

1. Another lovely sunrise from my flight to Hilo-seeing the differences each week brings me joy.🌅

2. Best, most moist & delicious chicken katsu for lunch at our team meeting on ⬇️

A day late with my #5JoysFriday list due to long meetings days & late flights back from Hilo. And, just one photo-the view from my hotel balcony because it represents many of my joys this week.

1. Having a hotel room with a big soft King bed & a view of “coconut island” 🏝️ for my overnight stay in Hilo.

2. Waking up early to have time to watch the sunrise over Mauna Kea on my balcony with a cup of coffee & my Kindle

3. Good in room coffee ⬇️

A day-of #5JoysFriday after working all day. At least it was pretty quiet & I got some stuff done. But here‘s my list:

1. A vivid sunrise on my Hilo flight. 🌅💛

2. An overdue joy, my #travelingstars box from @BookwormAHN I was sick when it arrived Halloween week & I put it away to open when I felt better & forgot.🤦🏻‍♀️Ashley is always so generous & the Samhain box, cookbook, coloring book, book pouch & coffee brought me joy. 🧡Thank you! ⬇️

A day late with my #5JoysFriday post. I took the afternoon off from work & went to get my haircut & highlights & then did some holiday shopping & crashed when I got home.
Here are this week‘s joys:

1. Views from my inter-island flights always bring me joy. This is Kauai from Monday

2. I am addicted to these cinnamon-sugar dried Fuji apples—they are so good they bring me joy. 😋

3. Getting my hair cut & highlighted yesterday was desperately ⬇️

A day late with my #5JoysFriday I went home & crashed last night after traveling yesterday for work & hit the ground running errands this morning. In a busy week, most of my joy came from food but it was delicious & joyful.

1-2. I don‘t get joy from tiny planes but I did get to see a lot of beautiful joyful scenery on my first trip to Lanai. I spotted a reader in the wild on our tiny plane which gives me joy!💛

3-5. Food eaten: 3. Breakfasts:⬇️

Late on my #5JoysFriday as with many, the joy was hard to find in this week. I worry for so much & so many & I‘ve been on autopilot at work & sleeping & “hiding” when not working. The moments of joy were there though, as is the hope.

1. I was in public & on trips Wed-Fri & I made it & am feeling better. For the first time in a few weeks I can breathe & talk without non-stop coughing & there‘s joy in that. 💛

2. 1995 BBC P&P has been on ⬇️

Hi Friends, still down for the count & spent most of Friday afternoon to tonight sleeping. I think I‘m making it back up the other side but if I‘m not much better by Monday I have to go in for more chest X-rays. Anyway, sick or not, joys happen. Here‘s my late #5JoysFriday list:

1. I made sure to get my ballot in last week & got the clearance it was accepted & registered & got my digital sticker. Such joy in voting & voting 💙💙💙

2. Joy in ⬇️

1. I drew an oracle card for the week after taking a break from the cards for a while.
2. I saw a Red Bellied Woodpecker at my bird bath. I wish I could‘ve gotten a better picture of him but this was the best I could do before he flew off.
3 & 4 - I colored these color by number pictures for Halloween.
5. I was pre-approved for more ARCs this week.

Another crazy busy week where I had to dig a bit for joys but here‘s my #5JoysFriday list:

1. I really do get joy from seeing the sunrise on my Hilo trips each week.🌅💛

2. Had time between meetings in different locations in Hilo so that meant time to grab a poke bowl for lunch. Always joyful when it‘s super fresh!🐟

3. Went to a lunchtime virtual session on work bookclubs & because I shared my bookclub experiences I won this cute tote.🤗 ⬇️

1. This is my progress in my walking game called Walking Planet.
2. I walked with my dog Toppy 2 days in a row at the neighborhood park and I took a picture of a squirrel.
3. I watched the MTV VMAs on Fubo TV.
4. I was approved for more Netgalley ARCs and I also requested more ARCs. I keep telling myself I‘m gonna stop requesting and then I see more books I want to read and I request more.

It‘s not been the best of weeks between health & work but there were some joyful moments. Here‘s my #5JoysFriday list.

1. When you‘re stuffy & sinuses hurt, nothing is more joyful & clearing than a big bowl of hot pho. I‘m already craving another.🥣💛

2. I watched one of my fave go-to seasonal comfort movies last weekend. Practical Magic always brings me joy.🧙💛

3. My #BOTM order came early in the week. I got joy from my free birthday book ⬇️

1. I watched my favorite preacher on livestream tonight.
2. I watched the iHeart Radio Music Festival on Hulu because I signed up for Hulu & Disney Plus.
3. My mom and I watched Inside Out 2. We liked it.
4. I took my dog Toppy for a walk to the neighborhood park this week. We both enjoyed it.
5. I preordered this oracle deck from Amazon. This is my first ever Spirit Animal deck. I really like these cards.

My #5JoysFriday list for this week. It‘s been a tough work week & I have a sinus thing going but still, there was joy to be found!

1. I was not happy about this birthday # but I appreciate & found joy in everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday on Litsy or sent a card through #LitsyLove as well as my friends & family showing me love for my b-day. 💛💛💛

2. I took myself out to breakfast on my birthday & had a delicious Potato Hash Canadian ⬇️

1. My mom and I watched the Dove Awards on the TBN+ app.

2. I found more Read Now books on Netgalley.

3. I listened to an interview from Mike Shinoda on the Sirius XM app.

4 & 5 - I requested more ARCs on Netgalley even though I have a lot to read and I was approved for these 2 ARCs I requested.

Sitting in the convention center parking waiting for registration to open so I thought I‘d post my #5JoysFriday list. 💛

1. I took Monday off for my birthday so it‘s a 3-day weekend! 🎉

2. Sunrises🌅(from the plane Tuesday & driving in today) always bring me joy.

3. Tried a new poke bowl place near my house this week for lunch. I had limu ahi & truffle salmon & it was fresh & ono.😋

4. Had the best BLT with a side of crispy Brussels sprouts⬇️

My #5JoysFriday post is all about my work leadership retreat & has lots of pictures that I will try to put into 5 “buckets.” 💛

1. The company & people I work with gave me great joy this week. To come from a toxic culture to this one is everything! 💛

2. My first visit to Hana, Maui-the beauty of this part of Maui is amazing. We took the commuter flight in (a little scary) but the view of the coastline flying in was amazing!🌺

3. The food! ⬇️

I am needing a little joy in my life 🌟 so let‘s play 👏

1. I am grateful for the steadfastness of my core penpals - I received a lot of great mail this week.

2. I made Apple Pie this week, to share with my nephew who is in a fierce battle with cancers, recovering well 💪❤️‍🩹

3. I am doing great on my reading goals!

4. Grateful for my parents, my in-laws, and family & friends.

5. Happy that I already scheduled the day off today and ⬇️

1. Had our 3rd Conscious Leadership training session our CEO runs at it was at a golf club with gorgeous views from our meeting room. #LuckyWeLiveHawaii??

2. Lunch for the CL session was very good—Misoyaki butterfish, rice & veggies but the dessert, “house-made” creme brûlée was yummy & brought me joy.?

3. My cute new purse & its sewn-in key hook gives me joy every time I use it.?

4. I took my HR Manager ⬇️

A short week full of lots of joys for #5JoysFriday

1. Gorgeous sunrise on my way to Hilo this week. The pic doesn‘t do the colors justice!🧡

2. Unique “Dim Sum Burger” at lunch in Hilo. Pork patty filled with dim sum flavors & topped with crispy wonton disks. Joyfully good!😋

3. I successfully made an autumn newsletter for the #LitsolaceFallCardSwap & #LitsyLove fall replies. I used Canva for the first time instead of fighting with Word!💛

Had to wait until the end of the day for my #5JoysFriday post because I was out collecting joys today. 💛😉

1. I have a 4-day weekend & I‘m so in need of it!🙏🏼

2. I took a “field trip” & drove to Kailua which is about 35-40 minutes each way but a lovely drive with ocean & mountain views & I used the time to listen to a current audiobook.

3. I went to the independent bookstore there & while I only bought one book, pictured & I‘ll tag it ⬇️

A day late with my #5JoysFriday list. Yesterday was a long one & I got in late from Hilo & crashed. I‘ll be around this weekend to check in on your posts!

1. Noodles bring me joy & a takeout plate of chow fun after a long work day was very joyful!😋

2. Graduation of the 101 Leadership Foundation I led the last 6 months had fun & joyful moments celebrating the participants with leadership & their family & friends.💚

Late again to #5JoysFriday 🤦🏻‍♀️ It was another crazy week prepping & leading up to presenting at our company board meeting on Maui Friday but there were several joyful moments:

1. TJ‘s Dill Pickle Seasoning brings me joy stirred into cottage cheese & deviled eggs or the lazy person‘s way of just sprinkling hard-boiled eggs with it. 🥒💚I‘m going to need another bottle!

2. On a watermelon & dragon fruit breakfast kick lately-so refreshing ⬇️

My #5JoysFriday list: 💛💛💛

1. Had a nice lunch in Hilo with my old Director. We grabbed poke bowls & ate them in the park with a beautiful view. It brought joy that it wasn‘t awkward since I ended up accepting the role after she left. 💛

2. I never tire of seeing people reading on my 45-ish minute neighbor island flights. Also I like the uninterrupted reading time & started this one-Book 2 in a series) & I‘m enjoying it.

3. Had a great ⬇️

It‘s still #5JoysFriday here. I got back from an all day meeting in Hilo & here is my list:

1. I had great joy in getting to spend some time with fellow Litten @wanderinglynn yesterday on her way back from Guam & wish I would have had more time & that we took pictures. (I only managed my gelato).😋She‘s as lovely in person as she is on Litsy.

2. I get joy in my local library. I went in Saturday & my favorite librarian gave me an #ARC ⬇️
