That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human
That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human | Kimberly Lemming

When a spirited young woman with a penchant for adventure finds herself locked away in a dragons tower, she realizes that fate has a peculiar sense of humor when it comes to her romantic prospects, in this laugh-out-loud fantasy rom-com. All children are told fairytales. Some are epic adventures with high stakes and exciting twists, while others are tales of pitiful princesses trapped in boring towers pining for their Prince Charmings to come and rescue them. Growing up, Cherry always hated those stories. Why didnt the princesses just get up and rescue themselves? Little did she know that her own fate would take an ironically similar turn. Because now, here she is. Stuck. In a tower. Turns out, when a dragon holds you hostage, he doesnt just let you get up and leave. Who knew? And just when Cherry thinks she sees hope on the horizon, that hope is smashed to bits byyou guessed itanother damn dragon.

The entire story felt like a series of scenes with no overall plot or end goal. And the title bugs me. I get that it's the 3d book and there's a theme, and maybe I'm being pedantic, but Dante didn't get drunk—Cherry *drugged* him (which I‘m not even going to comment on). And I didn‘t like Cherry.

Overall, disappointing. It just felt like lazy story writing just to get a 3d book out.

Book 6 for #AwesomeApril
Book 1 for #wyrdandwonder24

monkeygirlsmama The title sounds intriguing, but that cover makes it a hard pass for me no matter the storyline. #coversnob 2w

Third stop on my DC‘s #IndependentBookstoreDay your was Loyalty Books in the Petworth neighborhood.

My first time at Loyalty—super cute bookshop with awesome booksellers!

Now back down the street to hit Solid State Books.

I gave this a chance
Cliché hetero romance
Not my cup of tea

Not my normal genre, but the cover drew me in.. was not a fan of the audiobook narrator, (🤠🙄) but I shallowly bypassed that to give the author a chance.. because I think she's cute 🫣😅
All in all, it's not bad, but I don't plan to continue/read the rest of the series.

Only 6 books for March, but 4 of them were from my #mtTBR and 2 from the library so I‘m 3 months into no new book purchases! #readaway24

Soft pick for the third book of the Mead Mishaps series. Still cute 🌶️ fun but again, a lot all over the place. I did snicker a few times with the interactions between Dragon Dante & the characters of the previous books. Happy to finish the series as my library e-book hold is due back tomorrow. Would I read a fourth book if it came out? Probably. Would I rush to read it or buy it? No.

Once again: great time! Not a super great book, but I enjoyed it and that‘s what‘s important.
