I was quite surprised how I enjoyed this book. It has Jane Austen references all through. Geared to YA but not childish. Drama, yes, but overall, the conversations between the teens were good. The only reason I read this book is because of the apples 🍎 on the cover. It was bad! A redo of Cinderella and boy it was too long, childish in the conversations would last forever 😒. If you like time travel in the Victorian Era, then this is a great series. Book 2, where Melanie, who finds herself in a young maids body and is actually a cop helps the family solve a murder. I rather enjoyed this tale of archeological times in the late 1800's. The characters grew and I loved the leading lady who told the story. This was a great read for #BakerStreetIrregulars #BuddyRead.
