Well written, well paced and an overall good story...the formatting was a unique twist but I honestly found it distracting enough to lessen the enjoyment

This was a new format for me. The book is composed of podcast script, newspaper articles, texts and emails.
Page-turner that kept me wondering "whodunit."
@LeahBergen thank you for the awesome swap package!!! The wrapping was SO pretty. I loved the old fashioned card and the kitten ornament is adorable!! I cannot WAIT to dip into my 2 new books - The Liars's Bones and Murder in the Family. Thank you!!!
@MaleficentBookDragon - thank you for organizing a great swap.
This month‘s mother daughter murder mystery book club book was full of twists & turns and shocking revelations. Loved it! @wideeyedreader
This month‘s read for my mother-daughter murder mystery book club with @AmyK1
This one was my pick, and it was a wild ride! Every twist caught me off guard
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Story is told as if you are watching a true crime show (reads like a script) - with emails/texts/newspaper reports and viewer comments thrown in - solving a 20 year old murder. Enjoyed the format - each “week“ ended on a cliffhanger so I had to read on. Enjoyed the twists and turns, and final episode! Overall a good read.

Make a great day everyone 😊
4✨Wow, that was a ride! It is set up in a script format since it is a mini series done to find the killer of the producers step dad. It was a cold case that he wanted to see if it could be solved. There was pointing of fingers all over the place. I had a suspicion of who the murderer was, but I was still floored with all these twists and turns. #FableBR
Not perfect, but definitely better than what I had before. Yay! I can actually enjoy my space again. 🥹 Why yes… I do have a build a bear addiction. 🤣
I really enjoyed the way this was set up. You're basically watching (listening to) a true crime series on Netflix with multiple people trying to solve a cold case from 20 years ago. Really well done ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Read this as a physical book, not on Kindle. I read it on my Kindle Generation 10 and I think I missed some of it's essence. The newspaper articles and voicemails, I wasn't able to enlarge to read. 3.5⭐

I liked this! It‘s written in a media style, as if you‘re reading a true crime doc transcript. So it‘s basically a play, with some emails and texts and such thrown in. As such it‘s a very, very quick read. Some fun twists and turns, but not an overly shocking reveal at the end. Would 100% watch a show of this (the “about the author” blurb in the back said it‘s in development!).
Written like a true crime tv show, it was quite fun and a very quick read. And everyone was a suspect at some point. Good entertaining read.
I enjoyed this book, but reading it as an eBook proved difficult as the range of font sizes and weight for the different media was dramatic. In spite of that the true crime show format was fun and there were a lot of twists and turns. It reminded me a little of “Daisy Jones and the Six' in the sense that it felt like non-fiction. I wasn't thrilled with the ending as the reasoning seemed weak, but it did come as a surprise. 3.5/5 stars
I heard about this one on the Currently Reading podcast and I had my hold in at the library before they had finished talking about it! I love me some mixed media! I also love me some bubble bath!
I really enjoyed the way this story was told. Some may find it strange but I like taking a break from the normal writing format. Loved the pacing and storytelling.
A 20 year cold case. The true crime documentary team brought together to solve it. But not everyone is who they seem, & the secrets start coming out.
This was such an interesting set up. Part documentary script, then part internet reactions, this marvelously built up tension & stress. Very fast paced, although not a lot of character development, & I definitely didn‘t predict correctly what the final solve was. Good for true crime fans! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
This book kept coming up in the FB thriller group, and I really thought nothing of it until I processed it at work, and decided to take it home 🤓 - needless to say, it was phenomenal! Super twisty and fun to read. Differently written too! So fun 🤩!
This was amazing! A book that reads like a true crime doc, I want to mark it as true crime, it felt so real! I think the only way I can convey how much I loved it, is to say that I was reacting like I was watching a true crime documentary: muttering as ‘twists‘ were revealed, tearing up as characters came across new evidence. It easily drew you in.

My Sept pick was the most fun I've had reading a book in a while. 👏👏 A recommended 5🌟 read!!
This was such a different kind of mystery novel and I loved it. This novel is set up like you are watching a true crime documentary. It includes interviews, newspaper articles, text messages and much more. This was such a fun read and I loved the format so much.
I barely have the energy to read in between unpacking my books (still not done) and all the rest of my stuff, but I‘ve really been enjoying this one so far. Written like a true crime documentary in an epistolary format, I can‘t wait to see how this progresses! #currentlyreading

I loved this.
I had so much fun trying to solve the cold case before the experts.. and I DID IT!! I predicted who did it and even the weapon by page 74!! 😮 I'm so excited, I never solve anything..like ever..
Even though I solved it very early on it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the book overall. There are so many more twists and reveals besides just whodunnit. It was a fun ride and the mixed media writing style was well done. 👍👍

...time to solve a murder!
?☕
This mixed media murder mystery is so much fun. It's like playing a game.
Through newspaper articles, texts, emails, TV show scripts, maps, photos, and other various media.. you, alongside 6 expert characters, have to review and solve a cold case murder for a new "Netflix-style" show. Can you figure it out before they do?
I guess I'll find out! ?
Wow what a read this was. There are so many twists along the way though in the back of my mind, I did have an idea who the killer was. This is told through various medias like texts, emails and the main chapters are the actual episodes of the show which is an interesting concept and I really liked it. I've seen this in her other books and it works well. The plot builds with each episode until the explosive ending. #Netgalley 5*
