This is the first Agatha Christie biography I‘ve read and I really enjoyed it. Worsley‘s style of writing is easy readable and I liked the way she added the works and quotes to what was happening.

Agatha Miller grew up in a special place. Her childhood home stood on a hill above the seaside resort of Torquay in the south of Devon.

Nice audiobook narration, but The book is too “nice” to Agatha. She comes across as unrealistic. The very human shortcomings Agatha the woman must have had were airbrushed, and she sounds like some kind of saint. This biography is just syrupy and makes Agatha less interesting and flat

I am so excited to receive this book. I‘m taping the PBS show so I could read the book first and now I can! The card is fantastic as is the chocolate. Thank you, Jessica! Merry Christmas @Jadams1776
Thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for hosting Jolabokaflod swap. It is a lovely way to start off our day before the craziness begins.
Just booked this! And even better it was using a voucher that I had from a refund from a show that was cancelled during COVID. 📚📖
Cos we all love a bit of Lucy Worsley. It started on Wednesday.

I decided to go out for a quick walk in spite of the tornado watch. We didn‘t even start getting any rain until after 5:00. It just looked dark. I‘m up to Agatha‘s disappearance now. #audiowalk
Reading about my favorite, while waiting for my car inspection and yearly maintenance.
Her books never disappoint. A very interesting and informative read
Two more books 📚 off may #bookspinbingo #mayflowers, @TheAromaofBooks ; Agatha Christie on audio read & narrated by the wonderful Lucy Wolsey she‘s a joy to listen too and my bookclub pick sorrow & bliss which has me laughing out laugh-a hard thing to do to write about mental illness and make it funny, it‘s a fine line & the author manages it brilliantly, as you can see Teddy is my reading 📖 buddy this morning ☺️happy Saturday folks !
I‘ve loved being in Agatha‘s world over the past few days, she was such an interesting woman and I‘m sad to have finished this!
Very good. Even though I am not a fan of Agatha Christie and the mystery novel I am a huge fan of Lucy Worsley and she doesn't disappoint, even though this did make it hard to read at times. This book has lead me to find about a well known author that is elusive in many ways as this is only one of a few biographies that has been authorised.

#AwesomeApril two days in and going okay. No books finished as ended up panning one. I don't like doing that to review one's but just couldn't get into it. Hoping for a couple finished by the end of this.

Listening to this audiobook on the Libby App while eating some Easter chocolate. Happy Easter 🐣 to all who celebrate. A special hello from my pal Tucker
My book from @wanderinglynn ‘s #300kBirthdayGiveaway has arrived. What a gorgeous copy! Thanks again Lynn! ❤️
Fabulous!!!
🎧 1-27-23 || I love Lucy Worsley‘s biographies, and this is no exception! She handles Christie‘s disappearance with sensitivity and is very thorough in her research. I especially liked listening to this one at the same time as I read one of the Miss Marple mysteries. 🔍
This book was interesting and well-researched, and I enjoyed reading about Agatha Christie's life and legacy. She was a fascinating woman, wildly successful, and someone who redefined the rules for her social class and gender. AC lived through so many great changes but while they shaped her, they didn‘t make her; and it was reflected in her life and in her work. Also, some of her "method" per the paragraph in the picture, was rather fun.
Just about halfway through this biography and am really enjoying it. I really liked Lucy Worsley's handling of the disappearance portion. Well done. 👏
So these were my 5 ⭐️reads of 2022 - excited to start a new reading year!
There might be things here you fancy @MicrobeMom …
I made myself wait until all the Christmas shopping was completed before treating myself to this one. Can't wait to dive in!
Thoroughly recommend it!
Really enjoying Lucy Worsley‘s three part serial based on her Agatha Christie book.
I absolutely loved this book. Lucy Worsley did an excellent job of making Agatha Christie come to life. I‘ve only read a few Christie books, and liked not loved them so don‘t let that hold you back from reading this biography!
I‘ve been carrying the tagged book around the house but every time I get a chance to actually read I‘m reading trash #garbagepanda #possumscream
