Here is my TBR for Winter Games 2024. My most anticipated December read is Window Shopping, but I also look forward to continuing A Torch against the Night.

This was cuuuuuute. Grumpy/Sunshine romance where the guy is the sunshine.
This hooked me straightaway.
A feel good holiday romance with more spice than I was expecting! Shop windows in Manhattan are works of art on the run up to Christmas. At the famous department store, Vivant, a store manager asks a woman ‘Stella‘ looking at the window display what she thinks of it. Stella, with no luck and a difficult past is offered a great opportunity which she takes with both hands. Don‘t let the cute front cover fool you as they is a lot of 🌶️ 🤣

I really liked this romance. It's not often that the grumpy/sunshine trope has a cheerful man/grumpy woman. Stella has just been released from prison & is trying to get on her feet when she lands her dream job dressing windows for a NY department store. Aiden's unwavering faith in her was a little over the top but I liked that he gave her the space to figure out her own way & she also helped him grow as a person
Soft pick, but if you need some festive uplifting 🌶️ romance in your life, it‘s not bad. There were a couple things that irked me, but it was a short enough read that it didn‘t go on long enough to dissuade me.
Stella, newly released from prison, tries to restart her life & applies for her dream job, falls for her cornball boss. The grumpy/sunshine was actually less cartoony than some of her others.
@Allylu here are the 5 books trapped on the island with you this month! Happy Reading! 😊

Spicy, second chance, Christmas romance!
I felt like it was a bit rushed but my god the sex scene were good I liked it 4/5
Ms Bailey is not for me, it seems. Second book of hers that I'm bailing on.
It's not the Insta-Love. Or the Grump and Sunshine trope.
No, it's the weird time line of the male MC's life. It just doesn't make sense. (see comments)

Thank you so much @Charityann for the book and chocolate!! I can‘t wait to curl up with them! Happy Jolabokaflod everyone!

I think Grumpy/Sunshine has become my favorite romance trope, and this book absolutely nails it. Stella is hired by the absolutely charming Aiden Cook after telling him everything wrong with a department store's holiday window display, unaware that it was his department store. It's fun and steamy holiday romance.

Finished this up before heading to bed. Soft pick. You can tell the Mmc was inspired by Ted Lasso. It didn‘t feel christmasy really for me. Still a fun little holiday read. Getting close to a bingo!

Again, I'm behind in my reviews. 🤷♀️ Finished this over a week ago. It was good but too short I think. They could have fleshed out more involving the heroine's past in jail, in my opinion, as it was a big of her personal experience yet we didn't get a full view of it. This was good but much shorter than I would have expected. And more smutty, too, lol.
This was a fun story. I‘ve never read Tessa Bailey before but when I heard the nice guy, always positive MC was based on Ted Lasso, I had to read it. I liked that the grumpy one in the relationship was the female MC! (I‘d really like a book based on Roy Kent and Keely though). The window design part of the story was also fun. Note: this cover makes it seem like this is a Sophie Kinsella kind of book, but this is a open door romance for sure!
Stylish, funny, sweet. Loved this holiday romcom. And surprisingly steamy! Phew! #wintergames #mistletoemaniacs #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #dashingdecember @Andrew65
I‘m so glad I put this on my TBR List. I did it as a fluke and it was a fun steamy read sure to put you in the holiday spirit. #wintergames2021 #mistletoemaniacs #wintercosy @Clwojick @PuddleJumper
My other book this weekend was this 🔥🔥🔥🔥Christmas romance that I downloaded on a whim. It was SO MUCH STEAMIER than I was expecting but — I‘m not mad about it.
I love a good Grumpy Bear meets Cheer Bear story line and I especially loved the fact that it was the female lead who carried the bah humbug attitude. I just wish I could see her window dressings IRL!

Today‘s entry for the #festivephotochallenge. This book sounds really cute…don‘t know if I‘ll get to it this holiday season though!

All the Tessa Bailey steam without all the Christmas story cheese. Though it does take place at Christmas, it is not over the top like the Hallmark movies. Not much of Stella's history was told or harped on (can't say without spoiling), but as the books premise was moving forward in life, I thought that was actually a smart move by the author. Just under 250 pages so it was a pretty quick read.
I really enjoyed this new steamy rom-com! It does take place in the Winter but it does not scream Christmas, there is a holiday party. It has trademark Tessa Bailey steam, the hero is like a cinnamon roll alpha and a goth Ex-con heroine. It‘s charming and smutty and good fun. 4⭐️

Put together my November #BookSpinBingo card. Lots of ARCs this month. I was able to mark off one book already as I finished it last night.😁📚
