Adorable

Borderline a so-so but ultimately enjoyable. Some of the plot is mundane (no pun intended) but then when it moves, it is GOOD. I wasn‘t expecting the spice, so reading this at the doctors office was a hilarious experience. Now I‘m invested in the characters, so on to the next!

I'm not much for rom-coms, but the premise sounded fun and it seemed like a good read for #Scarathlon2022 - a witch falls in love with a mundane and must navigate family issues to be with her true love
-it is very repetitive, a lot of description about things that don't move the story along, the characters are so insecure it actually bugged me -
only finished because great #wordsearch -🎃

Romance novel about a modern day witch (with powers to fix appliances) who falls in love with one of her non-witch clients. I like how the book inverts some gender stereotypes about sex and sexuality.

I enjoyed this because it was light and fun. The two leads were interesting together and their families are a little bit crazy and dramatic. I like that this stands alone but also kind of sets up a small town series. The little hint of magic was fun as well.

4 ⭐ If you want something light but fun this fall, you need to pick up Witch Please. Danica comes from a family of witches. She lives with her cousin and they own a shop fixing electrical appliances. They are the Fix-It Witches. One day a baker walk into the shop for assistance, falls in instalove and decides this is the girl he is going to marry. But Titus believes he is cursed.

I wanted to love this one but the voice felt off for the demographic—even going for a more quirky tone. And maybe some of that was it felt like it was relying on the quirk over real action for much of the book. The witchiness felt rather light overall. And it didn‘t feel like all things were really resolved at the end. I have read this is great for fans of Gilmore Girls (which I, admittedly, have watched little of) so I'm sure others will enjoy

I was going to add this book to the “Witches/Spells“ space on my bingo but since I bailed at barely 100 pages in and then skimmed through the rest......I won't be placing it on the board.

Final September #bookspinbingo with another bingo! I finished Where the Crawdads Sing in the final hours (will post thoughts another time) and I was so happy I completely forgot to post my bingo card 😅. I had an additional read that couldn‘t fit since I used all my free spaces: Witch Please by Ann Aguirre. Another solid month of reading topping out at 15 books.
