Sooo behind on posting! Thoroughly enjoyed this spicy tale of revenge… however… the ending almost ruined it for me. While the plot twist spiced things up, it almost felt anticlimactic in the end with how it was used.

#family #HumbleHarvest @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Even without having read this, I‘m tempted to buy it for several people as holiday gifts! (Bonus, it actually has surprisingly good Litsy reviews)
A weird title to read in public, even weirder if your family reads the title.
I Iove me a slightly psychopathic protagonist, and it definitely has that. Simple language, page turner (I was gliding through them), decent plot, overall a super fun read.
It has some great twists, especially the biggest one towards the end. A bit disappointed by the ending though. I still have to make my mind about it, if it was utterly brilliant or silly.
4/5🌟
This was a mixed bag for me. I loved the premise (I‘m a sucker for a good old fashioned revenge plot) and the writing was refreshing and so funny at times. But other times it was long winded and dragged?! Not sure about the ending either…! Bit disappointing.
LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! 🤩
Grace is the Anti-Hero I didn't know I needed in my life. Her wit, sarcasm and general disdain towards the human race make this book laugh out loud funny. It is equally as dark and gritty, as it is amusing and fun.
I cannot wait to read Bella Mackie in the future, and I am hoping to see this made into a series in the future.
100% recommend. Best book I've read this year. 👌👏
Would it be bad to give this to someone in my family? What if I said it was only a slight threat? 😂 Pretty sure this is going to be one of my sister‘s presents.
"Apart from the ring, I'm not hugely one for sentimental relics (of course, I was never immune to keeping a few prized tokens after a murder, but it could hardly be called sentimental)."
How to Kill Your Family, is a light, fun take on the crime genre. It‘s central character Grace manages to be strangely endearing, while also being a murderous psychopath. A little unevenly paced at times, nonetheless I was captured but the unravelling of the murders that were foreshadowed in the novel‘s title and opening. I liked this a lot.
Trying to keep track of all these #TeamSlaughter points is hard but fun 😅

Litsy = a site like that? 🤭
Not knowing what to expect, this was a fun surprise. It wasn‘t as dark as I expected, the main character was fun to follow and it got a bit twisty too.
#catsoflitsy Joey taking a break the minute I put the book down, like: ‘I‘m sittin‘ here!‘
After a really horrible 2 month reading slump and not finding a book that kept me interested, this one was amazing . Quick easy read hilarious in parts and just all around amazing in others 🥰 it really sparked my drive to get back into reading and now I want to rip every book off my cases and read them all 🥰 highly reccomend this one
Thank you so much @Yuki_Onna for my awesome #sliceofsummerswap box! I'm so excited about the books and all the amazing German chocolate! And thank you for being my first international swapper 💝 I hope you're feeling better!
My family were quite perturbed seeing this one lying around! I‘ve had a disjointed couple of weeks reading due to the distraction of a new job; this one fit the bill perfectly. Easy to pick up, amusingly snarky and with a nice little twist.
This one started off great and stayed that way for the first 3/4 of the story. Super funny and great characters. Absolutely detested the ending, poor, could have ended so much better. Definitely recommend but almost with the caveat that you stop reading at page 311. Disappointing
Loved this book! It‘s incredibly funny and dark. The author does not hold back or soften her protagonist who is absolutely a serial killer - and proud of it!
It is definitely a bit bonkers but I really enjoyed it overall and found the ending satisfying. Although there was one aspect that I would have liked to have played out differently it didn‘t ruin the book for me.
Fifteen pages in and I'm in love with this book. So funny and slightly alarming how alike the main character I am ☺️😂😂
Its a good concept and when Grace is in action it is entertaining. If the writer had trusted her audience (who lets face it bought a book called How to Kill your Family) and just went all out with murdering and wrote an entertaining novella this could have been solid. But no she must also try for social satire and satire is hard and it just comes across as ranting. Then a character comes from nowhere in the last third 😡.
Good start, bad ending.
