I read and loved Wool and Silo over a decade ago and somehow never ended up getting to Dust. Now, thanks to #ReadYourEbooks, I finally have! And it‘s a good ending to a very satisfying trilogy. I‘m so glad I finally got to it.

I liked it, & loved the trilogy as a whole. But this being the last book I have a few issues with. There were some brutal side plots that didn‘t add value to the overall story. But the central plot was good, I did have to look up 1 part that I overlooked on the authors blog, but idk if I spaced out or if it was too intellectual & went right over my head 😂

#serieslove2023 I feel extremely satisfied with the ending of this trilogy. This was an amazing dystopian epic tale with characters I absolutely fell in love with. I will think about this series for a long time and hope it is not where we are headed as a society but feeling like it kind of is. It‘s so hard to discuss the plot without spoilers as there are so many important revelations throughout. Just read this series! 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TheSpineView Sounds good! Great job! 1y

This was my least favourite of the silo books but the ending made me cry so can‘t have been all bad! Although might also be because I‘ve sprained my ankle on holiday and feeling v sorry for myself 😫

RamsFan1963 I'm curious, is Provenance a good book? I ADORED the whole Imperial Radch trilogy. I know Provenance is set in the same universe, but are there any crossover characters? 2y
JuliaTheBookNerd @RamsFan1963 I read Provenance several years ago, but I remember loving it. From what I remember it‘s the same universe but no crossover. This one just follows one girl on her adventure with lots of mishaps, family drama and political intrigue. Definitely recommend. 2y
RamsFan1963 @JuliaTheBookNerd Thank you for the recommendation, I'll definitely look for a copy. 2y

It was kind of boring and didn't explain at all why the silos were created and what the final plan was. I'M glad to finish it today. Next #audiobook is waiting. #littenlisten #littenlistenaudiothon #WinterGames2021#teamGameSleighers @StayCurious

My first read for #Scarathlon2021 is an #audiobook and it isn't very scary because it is a scifi book. But it counts for #littenlisten and #spookoween. #teamslaughter @Clwojick @Linsy @TheSpineView

3✨ The final book in the series had quite a few deaths, the will to survive, and a joyous end to the journey.

Time for my next #audiobook Also a big book about 770 minutes 😁 I have already heard the first two parts and found the story very exciting #coffeeandbooks

Buechersuechtling I‘d love to start this but my library only has “Silo” and “Exit”. “Level” is missing. 🙄 4y
Moony Yes I heard it also in two different libraries 😂 4y

I had a good #OutstandingOctober #readathon, finishing up this 4th book before bedtime last night. Thanks to @Andrew65 for hosting!

This final book in Hugh Howey's Silo series wrapped up all the plotlines nicely. I really enjoyed the series -- great characters along with page-turning action. If you're fond of post-apocalyptic survival stories, I'd definitely recommend it.

Andrew65 Well done, a great result. 👏👏👏🙌🍾🥂🥳🥳 Thanks for playing along 😊 4y

Last book in this trilogy of people who live in solos below Earths soil because the world outside as we know it has been destroyed....or has it? Who controls all the solos though???😳Liked these books, good lead characters and an ending that is satisfying.

I've been wanting to finish this for so long, and I think that's partly what made this so disappointing. But also, a lot of the set-up felt unnecessary. The second half is better, more action-oriented, and finally clears up some nagging questions. It's a dark book, focusing on grief, fear, and mortality, but I like that it ends with hope. Overall, I'm glad I finished the trilogy, but I think you could just read the first book and be satisfied.

This was a satisfying end to the trilogy, but I didn‘t feel this or the second in the series, Shift, had the same impact as the first, Wool. I also realised I‘m not great at reading a series because having read other books in between I tend to lose track of the story; I spent the first half of this book trying to remember what came before. I think this trilogy deserves a reread someday so I can catch the detail I missed first time...

Cathythoughts I‘ve never heard of this series. Wool sounds good 👍🏻 6y
JillR It‘s a good series @cathythoughts, worth a read :) 6y

Last book of the trilogy and can't say I'm sorry. The book managed to seem both unending and yet rushed at the end. Yet some parts were excellent. A mixed bag. Rating: 3.5/5.

This series had such a strong start. But with Silo, and now Dust, it just reads like a concept that grew out of control. It felt like a constant series of huge earth-shattering reveals which then turned out to be red herrings. And then even bigger reveals! Eventually none of it made sense and I just stopped believing any of it.
