"Contrite astronomers with strong erections and a poor understanding of female anatomy might well be what the literary market was missing."
Somehow...I think not...

"It told the story of an astronomer who had failed to notice the signs of a world-ending asteroid and roamed the empty streets of New York in search of forgiveness and family. And, apparently, excessive confirmation of his sexual prowess."
I feel like I have read that book...
I read this book on my new tablet that my uncle got me as a thank you gift for taking care of my grandmother. He replaced my kindle that quick working a while back. I actually enjoyed this book a lot. I felt like I could identify with the main character. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars!!!
I thought of you Kelly @Mustlovebooks1088 when I saw this today at Barnes and Noble!! 🧡🧡
Not a RomCom like I was expecting but also not DNF worthy so far.
It was disappointing. All the elements for an enjoyable read were there…but it just wasn‘t.
Pros: About books, leaving dead end jobs, making a change, finding yourself and your passion, learning to champion yourself.
Cons: Slow, hard to like or care about anyone, flat characters, predictable situations, and sort of dull.
I will try the author again. Think this was a debut, and some people are slow starters. Hopefully her next book is better.
95 pages in and I‘m bored. Bailing!
#bookspinbingo - this DNF gives me a bingo, so at least something good came out of it!
I‘m looking forward to reading this! I received this from @Aims42 as part of the #recipeswap exchange. Funny story - it‘s the May selection for a reading challenge I‘m participating in! I can‘t wait to try the soup recipes since the PNW spring has been wet & cold. @BennettBookworm
Posting my #BFC2022 goals for the first time in forever because I really want to be accountable this month!! April was tough because I had terrible sciatica and spent a lot of time just managing that. Though I did ok with veggies near month end.
Book goal: finish at least 5 from my big library stack
Health goals: PT every other day, yoga 5x week, walks 3x week… but really just keep MOVING. And keep eating my veggies 😅

Despite the cover, this isn‘t exactly the light-hearted rom-com that I expected. Nora has worked in publishing for five years- but what was once her dream job has turned into a nightmare. Layoffs and budget cuts have resulted in way too much work for less money. Nora takes a risk by taking on a second job- and a relationship with an author becomes more than business. Nora‘s struggles with her career & emotional well-being will resonate with many!
Not exactly the book I thought it would be but it was overall a good book. I thought it would include more romance but it really was mostly about Nora and her life.
TW: suicidal thoughts and depression
thought this would be more of a romance than it was, her struggling with her career and what to do with her life hit a little too close to home currently. wanted more of the love story.
TW: depression, suicidal thoughts
I snagged this from #hoopla when it compared it to Younger and assumed it was a romance. While it has some romance, it's much more about the central character of Nora, who is unhappily employed in her fifth year as an editorial assistant at a less than prestigious publisher. When she gets a pay cut, she has to figure out what comes next.
I started this at lunch today, and I‘m already almost finished. What a charming read! (With moments of serious relatability that keep it from wandering over the line into saccharine-land.) #mustlovebooks #shaunarobinson
Picked up this book on a whim in an airport bookstore and read it while traveling. It was a fun book to start and had a lot of depth as it progressed. I liked the ending being more open-ended than wrapped in a bow. 4⭐️
TW: discussion of suicide
Started reading my impulse book purchase from the airport. The cover and title got me! 📚🧡 It‘s a fun little book so far, we will see where it goes.
I am loving this book. Nora is an interesting and complex character that, even when I don't like her decisions, it's easy to care about. With a lot of sarcasm, heart, and soul searching I find this book really drawing me in.
To be published January 18th, I am definitely buying a copy
The holidays season is here, for some of us is a hard time especially when a piece of our heart is not in this world anymore. I wanted you to know you are not alone, we're in this together. Please stay strong, get a book and find somewhere to hide -I usually do that any time of the year- and have some peace of mind to ease the heartaches. Hug your family & friends, send them your love if you are not able to be together 💚 #LitsyFamily #BookReview
I did it! I reached my 2021 goodreads reading challenge goal. 😁📚
