Also in progress with Daisy: DAYS OF READING by Marcel Proust. I‘ll freely admit I abandoned the first essay (an insiderish commentary on Ruskin) ten pages in, but I‘m enjoying the title piece.

In this tiny book, which was actually an introduction to a book by John Ruskin, Marcel Proust shares his thoughts on the act of reading, its role, the possibilities it offers, but also its excesses.
It's a little gem, not sure if it's available in English. Proust speaks about his childhood's reading habits, which for me was a highlight of the book.
βThere are no days of my childhood which I lived so fully perhaps as those I thought I had left behind without living them, those I spent with a favourite book.β So begins Proust‘s beautiful essay βDays of Reading (1)β. In his distinctive, densely detailed style, Proust shares his thoughts on reading, writing, art, machinism, society, Ruskin, and more. This is a slim volume filled with gems. #France #ReadingAroundTheWorld

A collection of 5 shorter pieces from #Proust. This lovely little book runs to just over 100 pages. The excellent Swann Explained by Proust is included. Published as part of Penguin Books Great Ideas series.

I was going to do some book journaling in my notebook this morning, when I realized something. I know I can ask it here:
Have you found kindred reading spirits in any of your IRL friends? I think in my life thus far, I've encountered 2 who were as obsessed with the reading life as I was. We've lost touch. But I find that when I make new friends who read, they are often overwhelmed by my "reading intensity." Litsy fills this void for me.
Like everyone else here on Litsy, I have SO many books on my TBR list and adding more all the time. Right now I've got 6 books going. #needmorereadingtime
How small is small enough to count as #tinybooks? I have 3 lovely volumes from Penguin's Great Idea series and four Harvard Business Review Classics. All pretty tiny compared to others on my shelf!

After 8 hours, I have read/listened for just over 4 hours. Finished 2 complete books, finished 2 discs of one audio and 1/3 of another! And currently in the middle of a comic volume. Not too shabby for the first 1/3 of the #readathon ! Here's to the next 8 hours!
Since joining Litsy, I have felt encouraged and embraced by all of you lovely Littens who share my reading obsession. I've found MY people! For the first time in my life there is understanding of my love of reading above everything else. So, my overflowing bookshelves, desk and coffee table ... π― percent I #blameitonlitsy π€

My car has just declared a reading day!
It is national reading day! I'm off, here's hoping I can finish the one I am on.
Here is my #24in48intro survey.
First break at 2:00:45:82 & it's just about 9:15 PM here. Time for chocolate I think. I'm about 3/4 of the way through my cozy mystery e-book & want to shake the MC because I know who did it and she should too! π¬ Here's my #24in48 Introduction survey. How's everyone's reading going? I wanted to shoot for 4 hours tonight before bed. I just might make it. My asthma meds & treatment have me fairly wired! π #24in48readathon
Happy Friday, Littens! I'm looking forward to the weekend! ππππ
