I was surprised by this book. It about a haunted house and spirit possession. But I think is better not to know much to see the twists. It is a low to mild YA horror novel. I enjoyed it. Fast pace reading. 3.4⭐️

The plot was creepy and mysterious, I liked the eerie going ons, some parts were actually terrifying. Alexis, the MC was a typical outcast rebel, which I liked as it's different from the usual YA MC. The romance was cute and Carter was so sweet. Also like the unexpected friendship made. I loved the narrative of the book, it's written in such a teenage way and Alexis is such a snarky yet honest person
So I have been dying to read The Companion by this author so I figured I try another by her. This was quite YA but definitely a fun cottage read. It was cute and quick. Not sure if I‘ll try the other one. Definitely cute and fluffy though.
And this wraps up another fun round of #LMPBC - this was a fun, creepy little book. It‘s a trilogy so I‘ll be checking out the other 2 from the library.
I had a lot of fun with our picks even if one of our people mysteriously vanished 🤔 I‘ll mail this out Friday afternoon!
Digging in to my final #LMPBC book for June. Really excited for this one!
Thank you @Jadams1776 for the postcard and bookmark! They are awesome :)
@Jadams1776 I‘m mailing your book back to you along with 2 others. Hope you enjoy them and if you have already read them then you can pass them on.

Alexis' sister, Kasey, is doll-crazy and seems to be acting stranger than ever. Her blue eyes change to green sometimes, she uses old-fashioned language and she loses track of chunks of time, claiming to know nothing about her strange behavior. In their old house, doors open and close by themselves; water boils on the unlit stove; and an unplugged air conditioner turns the house cold enough to see their breath in.
I enjoyed this pick for #LMPBC Round11! I don‘t want to give anything away, but I thought it was creepy! It should be on the way to @laurenashley tomorrow #GroupH !
I just couldn't get myself to pick the book back up.
It was a good book. I remember the tensions being higher when i first read it in the 5th grade which is understandable. I think for early young readers its great to merge into that young adult genre. Not quite kids books not quite adult books. It was a good story i like supernatural books a lot, but the twists came too far to the end and felt a little rushed.
Next read is a re-read of Katie Alender‘s Bad girls done die. I loved this book a few years ago i read it a bunch of times hence the wear and tear of the book. I want to know if i still love it now
At times I found myself just loving this, and at times I wanted to put it down and walk away. The premise is somewhat original as far as ghost stories go which was quite nice, and the characters were all believable and sympathetic. On the flip side, I was never surprised by the plot twists or the writing...
I‘ll admit it, I totally chose this book for its cover. 90 pages in I‘m finding it enjoyable, though.
I dont really read creepy books very often, and this is kinda my first time reading the genre... and it's really good (even for a scaredy cat like me). So, looks like I'm going to be up all night looking for books like this! #Summerreading #Imascaredycat 😖🐱
Not a bad book if your into evil spirits entering people.
An older sister struggles to help her younger sister who has a demon in her
Despite this book being young adult and pretty cliche, it was a delight to power through. This is just a mindless read for someone looking to escape from heavy reads. I wouldn‘t have ever chosen to read this on my own so thanks @TheBookAddict for throwing me outside my comfort zone and giving me something a bit more fun to read even if it wasn‘t my absolute favorite! #horrorpost #litsyscreams
After a week and a half of walking around with this in my purse It‘s finally on its way @collegecatlady #litsyscreams
You know what. I really ended up liking this book. But I‘m also a huge fan of over the top (kind of corny) paranormal stuff (I.e. I‘m a huge supernatural fan) and it honestly did creep me out in a few areas. Kasey was kind of annoying to me at times but I loved Alexis‘ character. Overall I say it‘s a pick. #litsyscreams
@collegecatlady I literally have been trying to mail this for a week now. It will be on the way to you tomorrow!
This book was suggested to me and so I read it. However, it wasn't my favorite and I was confused on this suggested topic. I wouldn't read it again but I enjoyed some parts of the book.
"That's the pathetic thing about high school. Everyone tries so hard to be something they aren't. It's gotten so I don't know who I am, so how can I even try to be who I am, much less who I'm not?
My problem is that I don't even fit in with the misfits.
I don't fit anywhere."
Some more books to add to my #tbr currently reading Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender. It seems like a story that will be about ghosts only at pg 66 and the closest we've been told about ghosts is a firefly looking creature.
When a family fight results in some sisterly bonding, Alexis realizes that her life is creeping from dysfunction into danger. Kasey is acting stranger than ever: she uses old-fashioned language; and even loses track of chunks of time, claiming to know nothing about her behavior. Their old house is changing, too.
🌟🌟🌟3/5, I don't remember the content. I remember liking it though. It's a good read if you like this kind of genre.
This was a thrilling horror series for teens that I surprisingly enjoyed. While I expected the "horror" scenes to be cheesy they managed to spook me however never become too much. It would be a fun October read.
It only took two days to read this book... And it was everything I could have hoped it would be. A perfect happy ending for bad girl Alexis! Can't wait to read number two.
"Like ghost, demon, dark side, Voldemort," .... When I find a Harry Potter reference in a different book, my day is made even better.
Finally got around to borrowing this from the library! Been wanting to read it for years. Can't wait to see what this story brings and find out why it has always caught my attention whenever I saw it!
