3.5 stars-
I enjoyed this book, though one of the MCs was whiny for the first 1/2 of the book, which was annoying. But it was a good story and not highly predictable.

4.25 stars- This book was just soo fun and funny, it wasn't super predictable like some of this type are. I didn't know who the killer was or what would happen, mostly. It was also hilarious and I was rooting for Finlay the whole time, and I hated her ex for most of it with a fiery passion! This book also just had me caring about the characters and what would happen, which is always a hallmark of a good book. I wouldn't say it was a masterpiece.
Stopped at 18%.
It's not that the book was horrible, but I got to 18% and I wasn't feeling it, plus it was due soon at the digital library or I might have given it more of a chance. I didn't particularly care for the writing style or the characters at that point though.
3 stars- This was primarily set up for a series, it was a bit confusing as some things weren't explained. I do plan to continue the series, however.
4 stars- This was a very interesting book! It was very well written and managed to keep a longer narrative non-fiction book engaging. I can rarely read as much of a non-fiction book in one day as I did this one, but it kept me interested. Also, I'm always hesitant when an author reads their own book, besides a memoir, but the author did a great job.

3.5 stars- I liked the feminist twist and new fairy tales. However, I'd say it's a bit more middle-grade than YA. It was a fun and VERY quick read!
4.5 stars- this was a really good book! I l usually don't enjoy slow burn/ non-smutty romances as much as I enjoyed this one. The main characters were very likable and quite relatable. They were also well-fleshed out. I would have liked some of Jack's POV though. It was a hilarious and fun book perfect for a binge-read situation!
Finished my first book of the #readathon
It was really good, not sure on the exact rating yet.
@DeweysReadathon
This book was a big mixed bag. I felt like I was sort of rereading the previous two books, but I did love parts of the Eve storyline, the Queen's Gambit storyline, and the ending. But like I said it was SOO similar to the previous books, it felt a bit like lazy writing. I so wanted to love this book, but it was just good, not great. It was so like the others I had to double check I hadn't read it before, which I definitely didn't!
3.5 stars- This book was pretty depressing I'll be honest, but at least with a semi-hopeful ending. I didn't see the murderer coming. It was a good book overall. Just very dark.
2.5 stars this book was okay, as long as you were doing something else while listening to it. It was boring if not. It was simply too long and repetitive for me. Especially if you already know about the case I would not recommend this book.
4 stars- This was probably my favorite one of her books. I didn't care for the rather ambiguous ending, but I did like that the killer wasn't glaringly obvious from the beginning. It also dealt well with trauma and how people deal with trauma. I could have lived without the romance, but it still at least made sense.
This was funny, but I wish it was longer!

Read my review of the audio arc here:

3.5 stars- The narrators were terrific, and the story was pretty good, it was a bit over the top. I did like that both mc's had trauma in their past as it added to the story. I saw the “twist“ coming right away. It was still a good book though.
3 stars- This was okay, highly predictable, but still cute.
4.5 stars, excellent narration, and a great story. I LOVED the commentary on past generations and what today's 20-somethings are left with as well as wealth and the 1%. It was also a great story and horror without the gore, which I always prefer! It was also the rare non-1st person writing I really enjoy it allowed us to see a bit from everyone for a better story.
3 stars- This was okay it was hard to understand after not having read one of these in a while. It wasn't very easy to get drawn into. Also, the whole Faith part was very weird. I did enjoy the majority of the characters. It was just an odd volume overall. Some good some not so good.
4 stars- This was a fun read! While I found the “mystery“ element predictable since that wasn't the focus of the book it was still a really good book. I liked both the social commentary and the characters. I really was rooting for them! I did prefer the audio to the print, I switched around the 40% mark and I found it easier to get into, and easier to like Taylor, but that may also just have been the point I was at in the book.
1.5 stars This book was soo predictable!! I had most of it figured it by 21% I am had there was a sorta twist that surprised me but overall just snooze.
I do like an unreliable narrator unless they just cannot see the VERY obvious like in this case.
4 stars-I really enjoyed the book EXCEPT for Samantha's parts. I honestly wanted to slap her. All her woe is me pretty, rich, white girl, bs. Ugh! Her only saving graces are her love of Marshall and Nina, but 1/4 of the book from her perspective had me putting it down a lot. I hope the next book focuses on Nina, Daphne, and Jeff, and Sam has a tiny part of it from her perspective, or I might have to give up on a series that I really was loving!
3 stars, like with any anthology there were some I really enjoyed and some that were just meh. They were all pretty cute though. I would have liked some to be longer and some to be shorter. I'll have to look up some authors for sure! The narrators were all excellent!
2.75 stars- This book was very underwhelming. It had an unsatisfying ending and just generally fell flat. I can see what the author was going for, but it didn't deliver. It wasn't super predictable in some ways but in others, it was way too predictable. Overall just meh.
3 stars- It was good for representation but it left a LOT of unanswered questions and was confusing AF. That said other than those things it was enjoyable. I liked the chronic illness rep and all the other rep as well.
3.25 stars, I've loved everything else I've read by her, but this was just not that good. It had me cringing in parts and not for the usual romance reasons. It didn't have enough depth into certain issues, and others were just trite and WAY too cliche. It was still hilarious at parts and mostly enjoyable. Also, I think she just tried to do too much with this one book.
3 stars- The book was interesting, but because of the way it was set up, especially in audiobook format let your attention wander at the beginning of the chapter when he was talking about the history of the poison, and only begin to pay attention at the true crime and “how it kills“ parts at the end of each chapter. Which means you'd miss things. It was also a bit overall technical. But it was informative.
4.75 stars- This was as funny as her Veronica Speedwell books, I also liked the older protagonists (around 60 yrs old) and that they, for the most part, were realistic. They had all the older women's problems, both health-wise and socially but used them to their advantage. It was a fun book and just what I needed, the narrator was excellent and I'd love a prequel!
🌱 💀 So far pretty interesting 🙂
3.75 stars-This book was pretty darn good. I loved most of the characters. I wish some of the “villains“ weren't so over the top though. It was enjoyable. But not the greatest writing in the world. I did like Helen and her story and I LOVED Bryony.
3.5 stars- I thought for a memoir the narration was excellent. It was quite slow-moving, yet there was a lot going on. I was so glad in the end that the outcome was what it was. I never realized quite how bad Scientology was. I knew it was bad, but not this much of a total cult. The fact it has been declared a religion in the US is terrifying!
5 stars I loved this book. The ending was perfect! You don't get a perfect ending with everything told to you. It doesn't end happily ever after, but that's what I love about Blake Crouch's books! I would have liked a bit more about his wife, Ava, Nadine, and Kara, but other than that perfect! It was a wild ride. I laughed, I cried, and I gasped in surprise. It was just a great book!
3.5 stars
This was cute but I did roll my eyes quite a bit. Everything just ended up perfectly which was a bit nauseating, to be honest. And parts were just over the top. The narrator was great and it was fun and plenty steamy! I don't really care for slow burn though.
Started this one last night and so far horrifying!

2.5 stars- I don't think authors should narrate their own books most of the time, but this author did okay. However, the book was at least 5 hrs too long with all the Norman Mailer and Kurt Vonget stuff. Also, the gruesome narrator of the crimes was graphically described WAY too many times, it was just over and over again. I did appreciate the amount of research the author put into the book.
2.25 stars-
Another HIGHLY predictable “thriller“ I saw 75% of the twists coming at least an hour before they happened, most at least 2 hours.
Most of the characters were flat, and I didn't really care much when they died because we didn't know that much about them.
It did have some good quotes though. And the narrator was excellent.
3 stars- It was a reasonably good story, but HIGHLY predictable, I knew who the killer was and why by 25-35% of the book! I liked the journey, though, so it got 3 stars and not
1.
4.75 stars, I really enjoyed this book, it was cute, funny, and sweet, I loved the big girl rep, as well as the partly-disabled and older female MC. It had both hilarious moments and heartfelt ones too. Overall a very fun book.
4 stars- This book really captured Spike's voice, and they picked the perfect time in Spike's life to set it right in the middle of a lot of changes and turmoil. I may have read the whole book in the actor's voices! It was light-hearted and fun. It also had good character development. I really hope there's a sequel!
