I am not really a huge graphic novel person, but I enjoyed this one...although I did feel it was slow to start and rushed the conclusion. Tony, a track star, develops feelings for Eli, a shy new student. And then weird things start happening. 3⭐

This was a super random, low plot good time.
I throughly enjoyed how dramatic Tony managed to be while at the same time being the Fonzie-esque cool boy at school.
This was adapted from a Webtoon series - and to me that explains the plotting issues.
After my latest dark reads, I needed something light-hearted. Sprinkle in werewolves, ghosts, and a LGBTQ relationship, and Blackwater did a good job filling that role.
This cup was on point today. Feeling a little stressed so I cuddled up with the tagged book and LOVED it! Immediately put me in a better mood and helped turn the night around. It features werewolves, spirits, and classic teen voices and experiences with a little paranormal thrown in. I loved the LGBTQ rep (trans M/M) and the disability rep (autoimmune disease). My only complaint is I wish it had more color instead of gray scale illustrations
3 stars- It was good for representation but it left a LOT of unanswered questions and was confusing AF. That said other than those things it was enjoyable. I liked the chronic illness rep and all the other rep as well.
This was a unique graphic novel. Each chapter alternated between the two authors' styles. The story follows the outcast with an autoimmune disorder and the popular jock who seems to want to be his friend. Add in a ghost stalker and a werewolf in the woods and you've got this spooky mystery/high school drama.
A supernatural YA graphic novel. Something paranormal is occurring in the town of Blackwater where a track star is afflicted with a lycanthrope curse, a trans teen struggles with being a medium, while high school drama, town politics, and burgeoning romances happen in this teen read.
