I can't eat spicy foods so this was mostly food porn for me ☹️ though there are a few recipes I could try. It's a fun, colorful read in any case, with interesting tidbits about Korean culinary history and society.

The first cookbook that I‘ve just, like, read cover to cover. The comic format really lends itself to that, as does Ha adding cultural context and details to recipes. The recipes are interspersed with personal stories, like how popular one dish was for kids to bring to school or how she learned how to cook something from her mom. I love the bright, colorful drawings: cute and emotional for stories and practical and helpful for recipe instructions.

Maybe today is more of a #eatathon than a #readathon for me. Coincidentally this is one of the ebooks I have queued up!
#ShelfieSunday of my #cookbook bookcase. Besides reading, cooking is definitely my biggest hobby. My most recent cookbook is the one tagged!

We traveled far and wide today - all the way to Flushing, Queens - to visit the strip of Korean BBQ restaurants that exist there. Ever since our trip to Seoul, we have been craving an authentic BBQ experience, and we found it this afternoon! We got all the banchan and grilled meats and enjoyed quite the feast. I connect to my Korean roots through food mostly, and I felt right at home today 😌.
I've made kimchi from the easy kimchi recipe in this book. Let's see how well this white girl does Korean cuisine 😛✨
Giving my poor feet a foot scrub before a weekend of standing on heels all day and continuing with graphic novel Korean cookbook ✨🍲🍜🔥
Rechecked this out a few weeks ago to really go through it, and it's phenomenal. Graphic novel cookbook of legit Korean food and it's presented in a super simple way so even knowledgeless people will totally understand how to cook Korean food 🍲😛✨
Trying my first recipe from COOK KOREAN! Only in part because I was reading a novel that mentioned Korean side dishes and I realized I needed some.
Really enjoyed this graphic novel and cookbook. I'm a terrible cook so pictures really help me. I only wish there would have been more about Ha's life!
Before I was even halfway through the book, I knew I was going to be buying it. Between this and Lucy Knisley's Relish, I really wish every cookbook could be a graphic novel. Apart from procuring some special ingredients in some of the recipes, these really make the process of cooking Korean food seem not so daunting. I want to make everything in this.
I don't really read #comics but this "comic book with recipes" (bought for the husband actually) is fantastic. The illustrations are vibrantly colourful and the recipes are appealing and easy to follow. And now I'm craving bulgogi. ? #RiotGrams

I don't read many graphic novels but this "Comic Book With Recipes" is so much fun. This page shows the history and making of kimchi. #Page24ofCurrentRead #ReadJanuary
My friend took me to her favourite Korean restaurant for fried chicken! I've been practicing my Korean cooking but it's nowhere near as good as this!
It looks sunny but it's very cold, windy, and now even dark! I had to sing in an open space for an event at the Korean embassy. This was ridiciliously hard, esp since I'm still feverish. This is my crew of brave, talented women musicians, they are still playing. It's 48 degrees Fahrenheit. ❤
Reading books all day long is so much easier than this, why can't I do that for a living?!
I admit I haven't made anything from this, but the instructions were clear enough that I am confident that I could. I call it a pick for those who, like myself, enjoy reading cookbooks.
I love reading both cookbooks and manga, so this book is an obvious choice 😀
I am obsessed with Korean culture. Plans today include trying some new recipes and listening to my beloved JongHyun and possibly starting a new Kdrama. It feels like I live half my life in just the nicest parts of Seoul.
Note to self: don't read about Korean food before bed. It makes you hangry because you can't go out and get some and are too tired to cook it yourself. 🍲🍜🍚🍥🍙🍛🍱🍣
