#BookReport

Making my way through the GraphicAudio editions of Murderbot: book 3 is my current car-audiobook, re-read books 6 and 5 this week. (Book 7 is expected to be published in April)

Geneva was #MoreMehThanYeah
Cluelessly Yours - contemporary romance, not as funny as I expected
Never Wager with a Wallflower - ARC, third book in the series, took me two weeks to finish 🙄

Re-reading Emily Wilde, because I had preordered the audiobook ⬇️

julesG Second go through Cain's Jawbone - it will take me several more re-reads to figure this one out. Started The Ferryman for #LitsySciFiBookClub - not sure I'll finish it. The Paradoxes book might go into hibernation (ARC). 12mo
TrishB I didn‘t think you‘d like The Ferryman! 12mo

Slow week, although Love Songs was 27+ hours of audio and almost 750 pages, but, it was excellent. Definitely an honorable mention ( I just think it suffered from being a bit too long in some places)
Lucky was mindless distraction after a heavy read and Tress was sharp and clever.
Not feeling my #AAM (Paula) but I‘m enjoying the Erdrich. I‘d like to see it make its way into #ToB22

LiteraryinPA A friend just recommended The Sentence to me so I‘ll be curious to read your review when you finish! 3y

A very delayed (and for 3 weeks!!!) quick & short #BookReport. We‘ve been moving some rooms around here and there is a new puppy in the house, so reading time went way down the last couple weeks…but I got some short stories and comic anthologies read.

This week‘s #WeeklyForecast has to be wrap up a few of the monthly group reads, finish up my book to get it back to the library, and then start a new fun read. 😉

We‘ll see….any way the wind blows, doesn‘t really matter to me 😉

I keep forgetting to post these on Sunday… oh well.

My quick and short #BookReport & upcoming #WeeklyForecast

#WeeklyGoals: I‘d like to finish my two currently readings this week, after a bit of a reading slump, I‘ve had those two on the go/on hold for awhile now. And they are both good books, I‘m just in a bit of a slump, so I‘d feel good if I could finish those. 😉

Megabooks Sometimes the best thing for a slump is to push through and finish a book. 👍🏻 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Megabooks Yes! That always seems to help for some reason….sense of accomplishment or closure or completion, I don‘t know which, but it does help. 3y
ravenlee I really enjoyed Blood Heir, and now I have to wait for them to have time to continue the storyline! There was a twist I didn‘t see coming until right before it happened, which doesn‘t happen frequently. 3y
See All 6 Comments
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ravenlee I understand, I put off Hugh‘s book forever, then liked it….but again then you have to wait for the next one. Readers are never happy, are we! 😂 we just want more, more, more! 3y
ScientistSam @Riveted_Reader_Melissa and just to add to the list, my hold came in on Hostage to Pleasure. I'm not ready to start it though. 3y

Just keep reading, reading…

Daisey I remember enjoying Nabokov‘s Favorite Word is Mauve. I‘ll be curious to see what you think. (edited) 3y
NovelGirl82 I need to catch up on Fever. I just don‘t want it to end, so I‘ve been putting the last couple off… 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @NovelGirl82 I know, that‘s part of the reason I haven‘t read the last book yet. I want it to be good, and I don‘t want it to end…so high expectations and fear of being let down. 3y
See All 6 Comments
ScientistSam Would you recommend Karen Marie Moning? 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam Yes! She wrote a great romance series, Highlander, that eventually spun off some characters of that story into an Urban Fantasy series, Fever. I loved them both. The first one, which starts as pure light romance is (tagged below) but they get more interconnected and better as they go. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam Lots of time travel in the original Highlander series…and lots on interfering Fae, Tuatha De Danann, and it‘s their internal wars that then spill out into our world completely in the Urban Fantasy series (again with some characters overlapping). (edited) 3y

I should point out that I bailed on Revenger.

Cinfhen Wow!!! This is the summer of 100 books!!! You‘re a reading machine 🙌🏻 3y
julesG @Cinfhen I have the advantage of having lots of audiobooks to help me. But now I'll definitely check how many books I've read this summer. 3y
Cinfhen LMK when sept 8 rolls around and summer is officially over ( at least for me) I hold by the Tuesday after Labor Day Weekend as the official unofficial end of summer 3y

julesG @Cinfhen Eventually sat down to count the books I finished between July 21st and September 22nd: it was 117 books (+ a few that I read with my daughter). Your guess was right. And I cannot believe I read and reread that much. 3y

I finished up two left overs from July this week and read 2 short stories…. Otherwise I‘ve dived into 3 buddy reads and still plugging along on my #NForNonfiction pick (from last month), I‘m determined to finish it this week and pass it on!

That‘s it for the short #BookReport & #WeeklyForcast

Megabooks I‘m interested to read what you think of Rainbow‘s new one. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Megabooks Me too! But as usual with me…I buy 1 I‘m super excited about, but then need to read all the library books due back first or other book reading commitments and that new release sits and waits. 😂 3y
Megabooks That happens to me with audiobooks. If I don‘t put my purchased audiobooks on my bookspin bingo board, they don‘t get read! 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Megabooks I don‘t understand why we do this to ourselves, but we do. Maybe it‘s some long game to make sure we always have a great book waiting in the wings 😂 3y

Oops, forgot to post my #BookReport & #WeeklyForecast yesterday, so here it is just a little late.

It was a tough week last week personally, so the later half of the week didn‘t see much movement reading-wise… so goals for this week is to finish up some of these & get them moving on (back to the library, onto the completed pile, etc)… then start hitting that bottom row which I‘d like to get read yet in June. Just keep swimming 🐠🐠

Megabooks I hope this week is going better. 💜 4y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Megabooks Thank you. I lost a fur baby unexpectedly last week, and just feeling blue about it. I didn‘t post about it specifically when it happened because I just wasn‘t ready to talk about it yet…. But I‘ll get there, it just wasn‘t the week to finish my more serious nonfiction read (about missing and found dead teens) or my Star Wars book. 🤷‍♀️ once I get these finished I‘ll definitely pick something lighter next. 4y
Megabooks My heart goes out to you. I lost my dachshund unexpectedly in 2013. He was fine in the afternoon and had passed by midnight. It‘s just really hard. 💕 4y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Megabooks I had 2 dachshunds in the past, they are great dogs. I still miss mine. This was a fluffy Persian, that I got from my brother when his wife realized she was allergic to cats, he was a snuggle bug. Tuesday morning he didn‘t come calling for treats, which is unusual, but I checked on him and he seemed fine, Thurs he was sick (some vomiting) so I made a vet appt., went to the vet and his labs were horrible, some off the high end they ⤵️ (edited) 4y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ higher than they measure, and they had a horrible time even getting a vein to take blood because his veins keep collapsing. I had to have him put to sleep….and I was so not expecting it, I thought upset stomach, medicine, better. 4y

#BookReort & #WeeklyForcast

I‘m running behind this week, I wanted to get The Death of Expertise finished & in the mail before the holiday weekend for my #NforNonfiction group read & then read my #StarWarsBuddyRead over the long weekend BUT now it will get finished over the holiday weekend and mailed Tuesday, and Star Wars (along with a few other group reads #PratchettPosse, #NonfictionNerds, and #NarniaReadAlong) will be pushed into June.

Singout Glad you‘ve got Seven Fallen Feathers on the list. Looking forward to your response. 4y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Singout it was #nonfictionNerds pick for May, but I got it from the library a bit later so I‘ll be reading it in June. 4y
