ONE OF HIS BEST NOVEL.
1~Both, if they are artfully done
2~I‘m a Grisham fan

Another good legal read by Grisham. The guardians work to free inmates who are wrongfully in prison. Good characters and a great story.
I hadn‘t read anything by John Grisham for a while and was looking forward to reading The Guardians. It has a good premise and what should have been an interesting story arc. Unfortunately the way the book was written there wasn‘t so much an arc as a flatline. The story plodded on relentlessly to a predictable conclusion. I was disappointed.
I've been in the mood for legal thrillers (don't ask me why, they're just really keeping my attention!) and it dawned on me - I had never read a book by John Grisham, even though he's pretty much the first result when you search "legal thriller". This was my first, but definitely not my last because I thought it was great! Wrongful convictions make my blood boil, and the "Innocence Project" style plot was compelling. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Day 1 impulse read (what can I say?) audio walking/shopping/cleaning. One book finished

One more JG moves off my TBR! Cullen Post is an interesting character, and I anticipate reading about more of his good deeds. It‘s pretty cool that Grisham‘s NF, The Innocent Man, inspired the creation of this fictional character, and even the story itself was inspired by good angels out there in this world.
I really hope Grisham will continue with the Guardian Ministries/ Cullen Post series. I enjoyed this legal thriller even if parts were questionable. This book reminded me of the older Grisham novels set in the deep South with likable characters and an atmospheric quality. The audio was fabulous. I thought Grisham brilliantly highlighted the importance of the Innocence Project and the terrible biases that exist in today‘s legal system.
Morning coffee and a great audiobook! I love when Grisham does Grisham ~ This is a real solid legal who done it
Library hold just came in...I‘m totally in the mood for a #LegalThriller 🤓Loving the southern accent 🎧
This was a good one. If you like innocence project stories, this one‘s for you. #innocenceproject

In this instant number one New York Times best seller, John Grisham delivers a classic legal thriller - with a twist.
“Terrific...affecting...Grisham has done it again.” (Maureen Corrigan, The Washington Post)
“A suspenseful thriller mixed with powerful themes.” (Associated Press)
I needed a palate cleanser after my Sarah J Maas book. This was totally it. The storyline in this book was really interesting and kept me engaged.

Innocence lawyer Cullen Post sets out to vacate the wrongful conviction of Quincy Miller who has served 22 years for a murder he didn't commit. But powerful and ruthless people don't want the case reopened.
A return to the investigative plot of Grisham's I enjoy with attention paid to issues with the criminal justice system (but not preachy). A bit "case of the week" feel, but an enjoyable one time read.
Reading slumps call for comfort reads. I missed this one when it came out, digging it though!
Happy National Junk Food Day Friends!! That‘s a pretty flattering angle of me with my head in the Skittles bowl.

I loved this book! Thanks so much @CoverToCoverGirl for the recommendation🥰 Looking forward to a few other similar (topic) reads soon. Mood reading definitely played a big role in why this book took so long to read🤦🏻♀️ So glad I didn‘t return it to the library unfinished.
#MidyearRush & a last minute invite to a #GRReadathon that started last night really helped too! #MultipleReadathons is how I multitask these days🤪📚

Such a good book. It breaks my heart that so many innocent people are incarcerated. This book gave me a new way of looking at the Innocent Project.
Highly recommend. Another riveting story from Grisham. This story is about an Innocence Group trying to free prisoners who were wrongly convicted. Several cases are highlighted throughout the book. Really enjoyed.
Was a bit anticlimactic but overall solid as can be expected from the author.
The bookmark was a gift sent from my mother-in-law. Like all her greeting cards that she gives & sends, this bookmark is beautiful and profoundly thoughtful.
Got my hair re-dyed yesterday & did my nails while spending time with some awesome girlfriends.
Not sure why I‘ve been procrastinating on starting this one. It‘s due back on the 25th so here I go! 😬😥📚🎶🥰😻

I forgot how much I like John Grisham books! This one was so good, and at the end I literally had goosebumps and tears in my eyes. Could you imagine spending over twenty years in prison for someone else‘s crime? And then to finally have a group believe in your innocence and fight to get you free. Damn... emotions all over the place.
I‘m on a roll of great books lately!!!! I‘m adding this one to that list. So, so good!!!!💜💜💜
Needless to say, I think we rarely value our freedom to move about uninhibitedly until that freedom is curtailed.
A deftly written and thought-provoking book that will stick with you long after the last page is turned. Quincy Miller has spent the past twenty-two years in prison for a crime he did not commit. He had no lawyer and no advocate until he wrote a letter to Guardian Ministries... https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/post/the-guardians
Do you have an author that‘s an automatic buy? John Grisham is one of those authors for me! Here‘s to hoping this is one of his better books. 🧡
" Death cases drag on for years at a glacial pace until there is an appointment with the needle. Then things get frantic, we work around the clock, and when a stay is issued we know that months and years will pass before the next scare. We never relax, though, because our clients are innocent and struggling to survive the nightmare of prison."
“Most lawyers are good, decent people...no one wants to read about them.” Grisham was fantastic. Afterwards I power walked to the Capitol to try to catch #romantsy panel. Sadly the line into the building was too long. #TexasBookFest
