This is my second time reading this novel and it‘s always sooo good
This is my second time reading this novel and it‘s always sooo good
Beatrice was a 16 year old girl who lived in a world where there were 5 factions that separated the people..Dauntless, Abnegation, Amity, Candor and Erudite. Though she was neither of those, she was a Divergent who fitted all of the 5 factions. Where in this world being a divergent meant death. If you are interested in Dystopian then you will for sure like this book! The theme in this story is the value of our own identity and families.
“Becoming fearless isn‘t the point. That‘s impossible. It‘s learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.”
I always think about how people give the word fearless too much power, and makes it kind of impossible to reach because you‘re never going to be fear of your fears, you have to learn how to deal with it to conquer it and that‘s okay.
This is one of my first favorite books. I started reading either end of elementary or in middle school, and I knew that they were movies coming out and I was determined to read the book for because I know my parents have always told me the book is always better, and I wanted to test that theory. I think it‘s awesome when books that are like targeted towards like younger readers, turned into movies because it is a great way to get them motivated.
This is story of dystopian world where you are put into different groups at a certain age and you are with that category of people for life but the protagonist is divergent so she can fit with all of the categories
“We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.”
The Divergent Series is extremely popular because it makes you feel as if you are living the life of Beatrice.
The Divergent Series involves a futuristic society that is divided into 5 factions. Children grow up to choose a faction to be apart of based off of abilities and talents. The series encompasses speculative fiction as many of the elements in the book are unrealisitic and deal with powers.

This letter was a no brainer. Divergent started my love of dystopian fiction.
“I want to be brave, and selfless, and smart, and kind, and honest.”
Four, speaking to Tris, regarding the virtues of factions.
I first thought of the Dauntless faction for the challenge “rooftop!! I‘m scared of heights!!
#WishesandBlessings
Which faction would you be? I took the quiz and mine would be Abnegation! It‘s spot on too!!

My GUILTY PLEASURE 💕 know the lines by heart. There‘s something so phenomenal about their self-discovery, their flawed nature, their dedication to something so much bigger than themselves.
I‘ve been wanting to pick this series up again ever since I reread The Hunger Games series last year.
I have a strong suspicion that this year is going to be filled with quite a few rereads and series.

The chapters that I read today was about Tris (one of the main characters) passing the initiation of the Dauntless (the brave) and meeting new people. She begins to make friends through this little journey in a gigantic cave underground. This book has some comparisons with the Hunger Games series.
#StackingTheSeries
Whether the series is 1 book or 5 (or more), read them all and fill a level on the chart!
Finally reading it 4 years after I read first
Who is reading #SeriesADay today???

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I know I‘m late to this party but I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Can‘t wait to read the rest of the series.
This was an ok series. I read it all but by the end was not over excited. But if looking for a East book not to deep give it a try. Very hunger games
I‘m a little late to this particular YA Dystopian novel and I‘ve refused to watch the movie, but I am loving this book so far. #readingchallenge2020 #dystopian
SF novel, Divergent, is another great piece of literature that I would love to include into my classroom library one day! Set in a futuristic, dystopian Chicago, factions are organized and citizens are divided by their lifelong virtue. Children, such as Trish, are raised until 16 and then are given the life-changing choice to either stay with their family or choose a new fate. #UCFLAE3414F19
This SF novel is a great IR for the students who are above grade level. It leads you into this alternate view of living where someone is controlling everything you do, including your future. The books are part of a 4 book series that leaves you hanging on the tips of your toes wanting to read the next one! I'm sure once you have your students reading one book they will be begging for the next! Just as I did when I read the series. #ucflae3414f19
Wanted a different reference for #raven than Edgar Allen Poe. I could only think of two other books I‘ve read that have ravens. One is Divergent, when Tris gets her tattoos representing the family she left behind. #scarathlon @Clwojick #chillingphotochallenge
I think that this might be my favourite book! Divergent is about factions where when you turn 16 you get to choose your own faction. Now it‘s Tris‘ turn to choose. Tris finds out that she is divergent which could be life or death. She chooses dauntless and finds herself mixed with a lot of problems. In order to stay alive her and Four have to risk it all. The genre is science fiction. I recommend this book to people who love action.
This is a really good book and I‘m so exited to read the next 3
New concept. Nice one. The first book in the trilogy is awesome, insurgent is okish and allegiant is horrible.
Divergent is a must read.
I‘m so glad I listened to my daughters and read the book enjoyed the movie, but the book lets you get into the thought processes. Futuristic world about to go to war because the utopian set up really wasn‘t perfect.
Cleaning out to make room for new stuff! Reselling a ton of my YA stuff today just cause I‘ve grown out of it :( but keeping some favorites like Patrick Ness, Sally Green, and my John Green books. Stay tuned for a shelfie when I‘m done organizing!
This SF novel is set in a futuristic, dystopian Chicago, society is organized into five factions. Each faction places value solely on a specific virtue, which its members work to cultivate throughout their lives. There is Abnegation,Amity,Erudite,Candor, and Dauntless. Children are raised in their parents' faction, and once they turn sixteen, they have the option to choose for themselves which faction will be theirs for the rest of their lives.
Yay! I just received all of these books from Book Outlet! I love collecting some of my favorite titles to stock my library!
Pretty good, and the narrator did a great job. I knew what to expect - YA dystopian and there were really no surprises there. Interesting concept to divide the population by traits, and the Chicago backdrop was cool. But Lake Michigan as a marsh? Hmmmm. 😂
Probably one of my fastest reads and one of the best books I have ever read! I recommend it for an enthralling adventure to forget everything about your own personal life at the moment.
When you buy a book at Goodwill and find the person donated it becuse the printer made a mistake, you go to the library, check same book out, photocopy the missing page and glue it in. WA!LA! All fixed.
I had to take a break from my Kirsten Hannah books, I love her writing but it‘s way too intense for back to back reading. So I‘m listening to Divergent, I‘ve only ever watched the movies and I love seeing the sometimes subtle sometimes massive differences #booksarebetter #2018 #yearofbooks
This SF series by Veronica Roth will always be one of my favorites! I really loved the first movie but the other ones disappointed me. However, at least I have these amazing books to always fall back on! This series will always be in my heart ❤️ If you love the dystopian world and want to look into Trice Prior‘s life after society is divided into five factions, than definitely give this book a read!
