This won‘t be winning any literary awards but it was a solid mystery that kept me turning the pages. I‘d say #BorrowNotBuy and this was my #DoubleSpin
With characters that I really cared about and a storyline that felt like every parent's worse nightmare, this one really got to me, both as a mystery and on an emotional level.

Single mother Abi‘s life revolves around her 17 year old daughter Olivia. So when she gets a call in the night that Olivia has fallen from a bridge and is not only brain dead but pregnant, she knows she can‘t rest til she knows what happened. Told in alternative chapters from both Abi and Olivia‘s .POV, we get a picture of Olivia‘s quest to find her father, Abi‘s issues stemming from childhood abandonment and their relationship with each other.
This wasn‘t too bad but not the most memorable. I find it hard to believe that the mother wasn‘t able to realize what was happening with her daughter and having certain conversations with her. But then again, I guess parents can be oblivious to their children.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 this book was super depressing. Not what I expected at all.
I‘m starting this today @OriginalCyn620 - I was saving it for surgery, but it‘s calling to me to be read. Thank you for all your kindnesses ♥️
Thank you so very, very much @OriginalCyn620 and to all the other members who have sent me ‘Get Well‘ wishes. Unfortunately my surgery has been postponed for 2 weeks (due to Coronavirus and my consultant being transferred to the local NHS hospital). Knowing you‘re all out there, thinking of me is overwhelming. As I recline in bed or on the sofa, books have become my entire world - Thank you all, so much ♥️
Even when this story was breaking my heart, I couldn't put it down!
Really well written!
This author has a great feel for her characters, especially teens.
Don't worry, it's not just a sad story, it's a strong murder mystery,too!
I finally made a list for #BookSpin !! This will be fun!! Better late than never!!

I enjoyed this one enough that I wanted to know what happened next and what really happened to Olivia. That being said it did feel a bit predictable by the end. I kept waiting for some big twist to happen. The book does however wrap everything up well by the end. It felt nice that though the characters suffered a devastating loss that by the end they have a glimmer of new good things happening in the future.
Here are my twenty books for #bookspin hosted by @TheAromaofBooks 😁 #tbrpile #backlistofbooks #readingchallenge
As mother and daughter, Abi and Olivia have a #complicatedrelationship.

To feel love was to feel fear-- you just couldnt let it dictate your life. Love was a risk, but it opened up a world of possivility, one you would never experience without ut.
But I knew better than anyine that you could love someone and still hurt them.
Look to the future and you wont stumble on the present. Stay in control. Never let go.
My teeth were like bars that kept the words imprisoned in my mouth.
Family, I realized, was like a box of puzzle pieces. They filled all the holes of your life with little pieces that all together made you whole.
You dont have to be right one hundred percent of the time to show you love someone. And she foesny have to be perfect to be well loved.
...our teacher asked us what we'd prefer: happiness or truth. Most people chose happiness...Not me...thats stupid. Truth brings happiness.
...she knew how much this sucked. Suck fest. Suckopolis. Major sucketh.
😂😂
The afternoon sunlight spilled like melted butter across his face...
First line: "You want the truth? Im --" My admission was cut off by a streak of blazing hot pain as something exploded against the side of my head.
I liked this book as a mystery but i did not care for the story. It was too YA for me. I did guess pretty early on the "who did it" but there were quite a few parts that tried to throw me off the right track.
I have an awesome giveaway of a Once Upon a Book Club box containing THE NIGHT OLIVIA FELL by Christina McDonald. The box includes the book, an autographed book plate & 4 gifts to open at designated pages. Nov 24-30. https://www.facebook.com/groups/ReadingisMyPassion/announcements/
I thought I wasn't feeling this book or the characters until it made me ugly cry at the end 😭 Guess I was wrong! Pick!
Thank you so much Holly! The books are awesome and I love the card!! Did you do the cross stitch? Such a sweet surprise!
This was a good, but somewhat predictable story with a great ending. The story wasn‘t brilliant, but it was compelling and well written. The characters were relatable and the relationships rang true. Then there was the ending..... oh the ending. It was written with such tenderness and provided a glimpse into the profound love between a mother and daughter. I was in tears 😭
Did #oliviabuddyread which was hosted by @sblbooks and @megnews . This book exceeded my expectations & I really enjoyed the story!
