A sweet heartbreaking book about a boy who confronts living with / dying of cancer. I teared up in places. Did not expect to like it so much so this was a pleasant surprise.

Reading this with my Granddaughter! It was a recommendation from her. I love that we can share our love of reading!
This was a phenomenal novel by Dan Gemeinhart. “The Honest Truth” is the type of book I will pick up and fall in love with it all over again. It was heartbreaking, moving, and laughable, all in one book. 10/10 would recommend!
I am so excited to pick up “The Honest Truth”. “The Honest Truth” is about a “normal” kid named Mark. He loves photography and has a dream of climbing Mount Rainier. One day, he packs his camera, notebook, a one way train ticket, his pills, and his dog named Beau and sets off to Mount Rainier.
This morning stopped by a couple little free libraries and traded a few books.

Why this book? This book was recommended to me by my previous LA teacher
Summary: It is about a boy named Mark who has cancer and is still struggling to adapt to his life. He remembers his promise to his grandfather about climbing Mount Rainer. In order to do this, he left home with his dog, Beauchamp or just Beau, and set on a course to travel to -
Matt has been diagnosed with cancer since the early years of elementary school, he hates cancer and hospitals. He would rather be with his best friend Jesse and wishes to spend more time with his grandpa which is no longer around.
Matt has been fighting off the cancer for some time now but it has returned, so he would rather die doing something that he loved than in a hospital. So he does why he always wanted to do: climb a mountain.
“That's the truth“ is an quote that I see in the book repetitively.
#2 I really enjoyed this book, it started off fast and continued fast through out the whole book. It is about this boy named Mark who is 12 and has cancer so before he dies he wants to climb a mountain named mt. Rainier so he runs away from home with his dog and runs into a lot of problems. I recommend this book to people who like adventure and thriller books. I give it a 8.5/10
When his cancer returns, Mark runs away. He leaves home with his camera, his notebook, his dog, and a plan. A plan to reach the top of Mount Rainier. Even if it's the last thing he ever does.

#AMonthOfSongs Day 12: Mark is 12yo and he is dying. He thought he had his cancer licked with all the treatments he needed to go through, but it‘s back with a proverbial vengeance. And Mark is having none of it. He decided to do something for himself, damn the #consequences and everyone else in his life, because he felt that his time was running out. Find out why I gave this middle grade novel a Pan in my review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-9yg

Young Mark's cancer is back and he is angry. He wants to leave this world on his own terms and have one last adventure, so he decides he needs to climb Mt. Rainier. He shares his secret only with his best friend Jesse.
Good, very emotional. And a unfolding story. With each new event you learn more about the characters motivation and past.
What a lovely story. Mark has cancer, he‘s tried all his life to fight it, and he‘s getting tired. He has another dream-to climb Mt Rainer-sounds easier than fighting cancer. With his trusty sidekick dog, Beau, he sets off on a journey that will make you cry and cheer!
I guess I am not the only one who likes books
Reading book in class and loving it ??? also shout out to my friends wise girl 448 and "Lilip!" or Lilip"

#steampunk Bitsy keeping me honest 😀 @RealLifeReading
The blurb on the front says "A heartbreaking, moving novel..." And they weren't kidding. I'm only 60 pages in and I've already teared up several times and flat out cried once! And I'm terrified something is going to happen to his dog!!
A boy faces recurring cancer and is convinced he will die, so he runs away to complete a dream he and his late grandfather never could. His young friend is anguished because she knows where he has gone, but she is sworn to secrecy. Where should the greater loyalty lie-with him with his loved ones?
