I'm thoroughly enjoying my reread of Witchlands. This is such an underrated series. I think it's aimed at YA, but don't let that deter you. There is so much going on with these books. It's LGBTQ+ that's done really well and is just seamlessly part of the story. There's a cool magic system, bonds of friendship, a prophesy, mythical beasts and so much more.
I'm excited for the next book which is my favourite of the series - Sightwitch.
Rushing in last minute with my #doublespin for this month done! I forgot a lot of the events from the first book in this series, but I remembered enough to enjoy this one anyway!
#BuzzwordBookathon Book 3 ✔️
I did myself a disservice by not rereading Book 1 in this series. Even though I read a summary, I had a hard time really getting into this story. When I continue with the series, I‘ll definitely start from the beginning again.

Onto the second book in the Witchland series-Windwitch! I‘m already really enjoying this sequel to Truthwitch!
I absolutely devoured this book! Usually, in multi-POV books, I have a great preference for one over the others. Not this time! I was equally invested in all of the characters.
Started this yesterday on the beach and I‘m loving it more than the first one!

Okay I legit liked this book more than I remembered and I actually think I retained part of it! I legit don't know what it is with this series. It's my third time around reading it and I always enjoy it but it just flies right out of my memory. I so thoroughly love getting more magic and politics and always my girl Safia. Like LOVE that girl
It's a testament to the strength of the world building that this can follow several different plotlines and POVs across great distances without sacrificing complexity. Though elemental magic is certainly not a new concept, I think Dennard's take on it is really solid, and everything feels very distinct from other fantasies, I'd say this series is a good YA/adult crossover that is solidly rooted without relying on trends.
I really like how the characters developed in this novel! I loved how Iseult and Safi started to learn how to be on their own while still loving each other and how Merik was challenged to see past what he wants to see.
Up next is book 2 in The Witchlands series 🤓 #librarybook
#fallintofallreadathon @bookriot read 1 book and bailed on a second so far
This book was amazing! My blog has a much more in-depth review! birdonashelf.wordpress.com
This is getting a so-so because I felt like I was barely listening. And I barley was listening because I couldn‘t really remember the first book. So this one is 100% on me. It was good enough to keep my attention, but my heart wasn‘t in it. I‘m for sure going to check out the sequels though!
“Why do you hold a razor in one hand?
So men remember that I am sharp as any edge.
And why do you hold broken glass in the other?
So men remember that I am always watching.”
#windwitch left me wanting more.
And by more, I mean more of Aeduan and Iseult 💕 💕 💕
What drew my interest in this story was the surprising relationship that developed between Iseult and Aeduan. Iseult and Aeduan were enemies but came together out of mutual need. I loved that aspect. Having to find a way to travel with someone you completely mistrust?! Definitely very interesting times. …. See the full review at www.thegenreminx.com #bookreviewer #TheGenreMinxBookReviews
A great sequel with lots of tense moments for the main characters and Plenty action to satisfy me. I'm really enjoying this series.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Safiya and Iseult are badass heroines and they are my #favoritenewcharacters of 2017! They are also way more fun to hang out with than your stuffy coworkers when you #dontwanttogototheofficeparty.

YA fantasy is is my favorite genre and that has not changed a bit as we approach my 30th birthday.😂 I especially love YA fantasy series, the longer the better. Which means my #favortitereadsof2017 and #thebestsequelIread are included in this genre. And there is nothing better #tochasestressaway than immersing yourself into a fantasy world

Bookoutlet book haul. I'm so excited!!! 📖📚
Then, again, when am I not excited about all the books? 🤗🤓😄
Windwitch is a good sequel to Truthwitch. There was excessive jumping around in this one, which made it very hard to follow. The story concept itself is still good, but that issue does distract from the story a bit. The next book isn't supposed to be out until 2019 so we have long time to wait to see what happens!
Susan Dennard is an amazing writer, and this series has a lot of potential. I didn't like this one as much as the first one, but I'm definitely going to keep going with this series. This is a journey book, but most of the characters really weren't together. Still excited for the next one! #fantasy
I am so excited for the next book in this series!
This book is a perfect example of why I hate starting series before the last book has been published! I want to know what happens next NOW, not wait another year!
Really enjoying this world and characters.

The Storyline was far better than in the first book and I grew quite fond of the characters. Still no surprises storywise, but that does not really matter to me for this series
3ish stars. I am enjoying this series a lot, I'm just not sure I'd read it again. I like all the different storylines, but sometimes the world building seems cheesy.
QOTD : Favourite fictional worlds? 😍🏔

I also featured some of the bookmarks from @nerdygrldesigns 💕 I've said this countless of times but do go check out her store! She sells the most adorable bookmarks ever 🙆
3.5 ⭐️the majority of the book I found myself annoyed with the billion POVs taking place. It didn't even get good till the last 100 pages. It was too many people telling the story without action. And I was into Safi's story in the first book and here her story fell flat. And Merick, ugh that story line really didn't do much for me either until the end. It was kind of disappointing, but at least Iseult and the Bloodwitch had an interesting story!
This one was about on par with the first for me. I really like the world, the writing, and the characters but it often feels like she is trying to do too much and gets wrapped up in her own sub-plots. Plot and pacing are the weak points. Still a pick though! The audiobook was good but the accents threw me, I don't think of everyone in the book as Dutch or Scandinavian cuz the world seems tropical but the accents definitely went that way...
The writing in this series is different than many YA fantasy books. It's not a book that info dumps about the world or back story of the characters. You learn things as you need to know them.
Windwitch is multiple POV b/w 5 characters. Most of the book those characters were apart, so the story was slow at time. I really love the characters and their development. I also enjoy the magic system.
My favourite characters are Iseult and Aeduan. ❤️
Trying to get into this one...I loved the first one, this one is a little more difficult to get into...
All over the cover art and Susan Dennard's writing but the sequel was a bit of a let down for me 🙊 definitely reading further in the series though. She is the nicest author as well which works in her favour!
