Wow, I really disliked this book. I predicted almost every twist. The dialogue was early ‘90s made-for-tv-movie bad. The sex scenes were so cringy. I would have bailed on it if I hadn‘t been reading it as part of a read along.
There was a difference. That difference became evident the moment you realized that you no longer liked being alone as well as you liked being with someone else. That's when aloneness turned to loneliness.
What a beautiful (gloomy) reading day!
Happy Wednesday and happy reading! ☺️
'You ended the sentence with a preposition,' he noted.
'You're the writer. I'm a mere editor.'
'I'm a *former* writer.'
'There's no such thing.'
This book was amazing. I loved how it ended but it isn't what you would expect!
I am really digging this book. I have only read a couple by this author but I have enjoyed what I read so far. I am branching out and trying different authors in the murder mystery genre. I never read the same author twice in a row...I think it's monotonous to do so and by reading different authors you don't get sick of them as quickly (or at all). I always have two books going at once. One on my Kindle and ones a paperback!

Certainly a bar where the editor Maris Matherly-Reed would have a drink 😉 🍹 #Miami #Mykindofbar
Does anyone else get green with envy when they see a fellow Litten reading a book or series they love? It's not like I couldn't stop what I'm reading and also go read that... haha!
This was a really fun read! A thriller with plenty of style and tension. The head of a revered NYC publishing house heads down to Georgia to meet with a reclusive & mysterious manuscript submitter with a heck of a story; meanwhile, her husband has devious plans for the company. I was glued to this, staying up way past my bedtime a couple nights. My first SB foray has me wanting more! #PairWith: Sweet Carolina sweet tea vodka, on the rocks.
#BookNLunch! Accompaniment this warm afternoon: my famous Italian nacho dish! Tostitos chips, hard salami, smoked pepperoni, black olives, 9 cheeses, and my special blend of spices. While we're out and about, I have a brief moment to share with you a most amazing quote most appropriate as a #Christmas gift from the dear Sandra Brown. I saved it until I had the chance to share this magnificence with you all!! Do you see it?! Do you see it?! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

At my temporary window sill in Chicago. Rereading Envy because there's so much to learn from the Queen of suspense, Sandra Brown.
I'm a sucker for a story-within-a-story and this one included enough twists and turns to keep me up late reading.
I know Mrs Brown is considered "commercial" but this book is simply amazing. The suspense is simmering constantly in each page, the twists keep coming in every chapter, the characters well fleshed out and likable.
The story starts with an excerpt of a book. Risky choice but flawlessly executed. It starts with a reclusive author in a remote island near Georgia.
