Forgot to rate this when I read it in February! This was so fun. Told all in emails, about a woman whose neighbor is attacked in her home and her nephew has to come take care of her pets. Except the nephew sends someone who owes him a favor and makes him pretend to be him. Of course the stand in falls in love with the neighbor! And it all goes wrong from there. But the mystery and love story told in an interesting format kept me turning pages.

This was a super cute read! Fun characters, a predictable but sweet story, and a Great Dane. Can't go wrong with that. 😊❤️ #funread #sleepySabrina

Curling up with this one tonight. Seeing as how I HAVE a Harlequin Great Dane like the one on the cover, it looks like a must read for me. 🤓💙

Hooked_on_books She has blue eyes! She‘s more gorgeous every time I see her. 🐶💚 5y

Yet another book pilfered from Offspring's bookcase for #theboyismine.

Wow, how did I not know how many good books she had? (Did I just confess to bad parenting?)

tpixie No, you let her stretch her wings and didn‘t hover!! 6y
Sace @tpixie lol thank you! I never cared what she read. All that mattered was the reading. 6y
Cinfhen Be proud!!! Your child reads!!! That‘s GOOD parenting 🤓 (edited) 6y

CaramelLunacy My favorite of those was Meg Cabot's Boy Meets Girl 6y
Sace @CaramelLunacy I was surprised Offspring didn't have that one. She also had Every Boy's One on the shelf. It's not like her to not have a whole series. 6y
CarolynM Sounds like very good parenting to me🙂 6y

I like that it says "frivolous", right there on the cover. #NeverApologize

RoxanneMilward Used to love Meg Cabot books growing up! So annoyed with myself that I got rid of them all years ago :( 7y
Christy @RoxanneMilward This one is an obviously-well-loved library copy :) 7y

Told entirely through emails, this romance is a quick read—cute, entertaining, and slightly ridiculous.

I didn't make it to the full 24 hours, but I still had fun squeezing in as much reading as possible this weekend, finishing four books and progressing in another three. I'm pretty happy. #24in48

This book is one of my a absolute favourites. It's written in a rather different form, in the form of emails between the major and minor characters. Mel is a young gossip columnist who ends up falling in love with John a crime reporter. Only, she knows him as Max Friedlander.
I won't say much but it was pretty awesome and I would read it again!

RadicalReader @BookishLifeAndCoffee makes me think of the book version of the classic movie Good Advice staring the talented Charlie Sheen 7y

What a cutesy romantic summer read. I've read Meg Cabot before and its exactly what I remembered her writing to be. If you like books in different formats - this is all in email format so I would definitely recommend. I enjoyed it but I'm excited to get onto the next of my summer TBR pile!

A quick, light hearted and fun read. This would be a great vacation read. Written as emails between characters but easy to follow and really engaging and interesting. #womensfiction #chicklit #megcabot

Something about Meg Cabot's The Boy Next Door left me feeling warm, content, and thoroughly engrossed. The email-only style of writing worked perfectly, letting the characters shine through. It's definitely one I'd recommend if you're looking for a light-yet-gripping read. #WhatToRead #Romance

A story about a guy pretending to be somebody else and finding the perfect someone in his life... Published in 2002, this is a little dated: People are just getting into e-mail; There is no FaceBook or Googling... and if there was, the plot would've fallen apart *very* quickly! Told via e-mails, and not as LOL funny as 'The Boy Next Door'; it's still a fun & light-hearted romance. Just noticed, "Meg" uses her full first name on the first edition.

This book is way outside my normal genre but I read it based on the #epistolary format. Great story, in fact good enough that I ignored that the cover had sticky tape residue on it (yes, @Bostonmomx2 , this is why I usually avoid library books lol) as I wanted to finish it rather than waiting on a new copy to arrive.

Bostonmomx2 Haha!! I've still never read a Meg Cabot! 8y
Debiw781 Which is funny as I've now read a couple... admittedly, at least one had a vampire in it though 8y
Bostonmomx2 Oh and I can't get into this style book. I've tried a couple times and it just doesn't work for me. 8y
Debiw781 She's got a couple more like this so I'm going to put my library card to work some more 8y

I am embarrassed to say I didn't know what an #epistolary novel was! One of my favorite chick lit novels was this one, that I loaned out and never got back. Loved that it was all told through electronic communication. #readjanuary

🌟🌟🌟⭐⭐
This had all of the trademark light fluffy fun of Meg Cabot. Unfortunately I appear to have not been in the right mood for this - I found all the interference annoying and wasn't getting the emotional kick I wanted. It wasn't you, it was me.

Meg Cabot is one of my all-time favorite authors. I adore her. That being said, this was definitely not her best work. It wasn't bad, and I'll be giving Boy Meets Girl a chance. But compared to many of her other works that I've read, this was lackluster. Cute idea, but she's done much better.
