Keep an eye out for this book because it is a knock out YA! It's a compelling and heartbreaking coming of age novel that so many people will connect with. It covers a huge range of topics like immigration, sexuality, depression, and growing up.
Here's why you should read and recommend it

Yay April!! I can't wait for a new month of reading. I have so many books I hope to read this month and I can't wait to see what y'all are reading 📚📚📚
WOW this was such a good read about a terrifying future that seems, unfortunately, very possible. I loved reading all the women's perspectives and struggles to figure for themselves in a world turned against them
I'm so happy it's spring because that means a new season of books!
Here's the top 10 spring releases I can't wait to read

A book that I loved is coming out tomorrow. It's definitely one of my favorite books of the year. Read my full review to find out why ⬇️

Book 39 of 2018 The Window is a suspenseful story about Jess investigating the death of her twin sister after she supposedly dies after falling from her bedroom window. Jess isn't so sure if that's the truth and starts uncovering her sister's secrets as she looks for clues about what really happened. This is a strong YA mystery written in short chapters that make it compulsively readable.
Yesterday a book that I adored had a big book birthday! Heather Ezell's Nothing Left To Burn is an intense, suspenseful, coming of age novel about the ways that gult can destoy you. I'm so happy it's out in the world

One of my favorite books of the year is coming out tomorrow. It's the most powerful and feminist book I've ever read and I know I'll be reading it again and again.

I loved this middle grade novel about queer kids accepting themselves and finding support in North Carolina in 1977 🌈♥️ #kidlitexchange #partner

Book 21 of 2018 📚 I really loved this book about 2 teens at the center of a crime and how race, class, and gender is so interwoven with all criminal and court decisions. One of my teen book clubs chose it for our April read too and I can't wait to talk about it with them.
Book 20 of 2018. I heard one of the illustrators speak a few weeks ago and I was so compelled by his words about representing stories in many formats. Happy to have a graphic novel to add to my library's social justice and Black Lives Matter shelves
Finally had a chance to do my monthly reading wrap up. I read 18 books in January and my favorites were Blood Water Paint and Nothing Left to Burn! What was your favorite read of the month?
Here's my full wrap up https://bookloaner.wordpress.com/2018/02/02/been-there-read-that-january-2018/
Just finished People Like Us and it was a whirlwind thriller! It has lots of murder suspects, complex characters, and unraveling secrets. It all centers around a dead girl found in a lake and the teens connected to her.
Book 17 of 2018 and my last book of the #ThrowbackReadathon 📚 my weekend got a lot busier than expected so I didn't get as much reading done as I'd hoped but I plan to keep reading more throwback books throughout the month (plus the BSC books I already read every month)
Book 15 of 2018 and book 3 of #ThrowbackReadathon! Judy Moody made me start a band aid collection as a kid and I still love her passions for her interests.
Book 14 of 2018 and book 2 of #ThrowbackReadathon 📚 these were my jam in elementary school! I love the illustrations and Mrs Jeepers was always my favorite. I still buy these anytime I see them in a thrift store. Maybe I'll read a few more of these 😊
Book 13 of 2018 and book 1 of #ThrowbackReadathon 📚 I started out with an all time favorite. I always checked these out from the library as a kid and Ramona will always have a special place in my heart. Anyone else remember that old Ramona tv show? I checked those out on VHS on a constant rotation too!
Can't wait for my work day to end so I can start the #throwbackreadathon! I'm so excited to revisit my old favorites and continue my quest to read all ghe Baby Sitters Club books in order. Just checked out a few more books and I'm all set for a weekend of reading! #TBRstack
Book 12 of 2018. Oh my gosh I loved this. I've been saving it for a day that I needed a pick me up read in between other books. Gotta love those enemies turned lovers romances!
Book 11 of 2018. This was a super interesting YA sci-fi about a community of clones after a plague has killed all humans...except one. It had really interesting world building and empathetic characters. It's all about what it feels like to be the "only one" whether it's the only human or the only clone who feels different.
Book 10 of 2018. This was a dark, intense YA novel about a fire destroying everything in its path and the characters caught in the middle of it all. Audrey has 20 minutes to evacuate her house while the fire is getting closer in the first chapter. I was totally hooked as soon as I read the first scene. Look for this book in March 🔥
This librarian was off today but I stopped by my neighborhood library to check out some books for the #throwbackreadathon. I can't wait to reread some old favorites! I checked out a few American Girl and Dear America books 💕
Happy book birthday to this beautiful book that I loved! It's about a Muslim teen dealing with the expectations of her parents and her own dreams for the future. It confronts Islamaphobia and has a cute romance.
Book 9 of 2018. A coworker recommended this to me a while ago and our library copy was missing but then it randomly turned up. Very interesting graphic novel that made me do a lot of Google research since I really didn't know anything about Dahmer before. I love reading non fic graphic novels because it's a great way to learn about something I would never read a 100+ novel or NF book about
Book 8 of 2018! I loved this story of biological siblings finding each other after being in foster care and adopted. Each sibling was so developed and had a unique voice. I'm really going to miss spending time with them.
Happy book birthday to this book that I loved! It has an MC with a very dry sense of humor and sarcastic voice, a reality tv show, and focuses on mental health and depression.
Here's a booktalk for any other librarians out there who want to rec this book

Book 7 of 2018 and I really enjoyed this comic set in a future world where Canada is invaded by the USA. It has a complete and satisfying story with really interesting characters.
Book 6 of 2018 is a memoir about growing up as an undocumented immigrant in America. I loved reading snippets of Sara's diary and her experiences as a teen in the 90s. This book covered being embarrassed by your parents, dealing with acne, and the fear of being deported. Saedi has a great writing voice and I loved reading her story.
This was a predictable but cute YA romance. I was happy to see a main character attending a community college and using it as a place to grow and find her passion. I think we need to see more representations of CCs in YA. I was lucky to attend a high school on a CC campus and graduate with an Associates degree and it made such a difference in my life when I attended a university because I was so prepared. Any other community college grads here? ❤
(Book 4 of 2018). This was a fairly interesting comic but I wish it had more back story on the Mer, their rules for visiting land, and how their world works. Everything was just glossed over and I wasn't a fan of the insta-love.
Book 3 of 2018 and I'm already thinking this might be my favorite book of the year? It's a stunning, fierce, feminist, historical YA fiction novel that brings Artemisia Gentileschi to life. I am just blown away by this debut!
Book 2 of 2018. I'm working on rereading all the BSC books in order but I broke my rules for this Super Special. I obviously needed to read this one while on winter vacation, it's probably my favorite Super Special!
Book 1 of the new year. This was a fun book to start 2018 with since it takes place on New Years Eve/Day. Ryn gets stuck in the Denver airport on NYE due to a huge snowstorm and meets a whole cast of characters. She's still grieving her best friend who passed away in a car accident and Ryn just wants to get home before the one year anniversary of the accident on New Year's Day. It had funny, light hearted moments and some heartbreaking ones.
Happy 2018! I read 179 books in 2017 (my best reading year so far) and these are my top 20 books of the year. It was so hard to make this list because I read a lot of really amazing YA books in 2017. I am so excited about a new year of books and sharing what we're reading on Litsy. Hope you're all having a great start to 2018! 🎉📚❤
Here's my full list of favorite 2017 reads https://bookloaner.wordpress.com/2017/12/05/top-20-books-of-2017/
This is book 5 of my winter vacation reads and it was absolutely adorable. I loved the complimentary colors in the images too. Such a pretty book!
Book 4 of my winter vacation reads! This book has so many delightful stories from authors you already love. It's out in January ❤❤
Finished Nice Try, Jane Sinner and these two. The Wendy Project had some of the most beautiful drawings I've ever seen in a graphic novel and it's a must read of any fan of Peter Pan. The Wonder Woman rebirth comic is a great starting place for anyone new to Wonder Woman and I will definitely be recommending it to library patrons new to comics 😊
I hope you have all had a wonderful, happy day and if not, I hope you're able to find some escape in books ❤ I'm planning on reading near the tree for the rest of the night 🎄
Today is the first day of my 2 week winter vacation and I'm planning on reading as much as possible so here's my planned winter vacation TBR. I'm hoping to knock out the graphic novels and comics that I've checked out the last few weeks and finish some other reads too.
What do you want to read before the end of the year?
