I feel slightly drained, always a sign of a good book. Full review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2213000460
This is doing a damn good job of highlighting the difference between a society of relative sameness to human individuality. 1/3 in.
I kept putting this off because I don't like the title and the sci fi element gets lost in the full size cover when you're mostly seeing hearts 😬. I know, rookie mistake but it's easy to forget cool synopses that made you add a book when you're just looking at your TBR. Glad I picked it up, the concept is so interesting! Homo sapiens is extinct, only a carefully ordered society of clones from 9 human scientists is left (cont'd in comments)
Really hoping that a sequel to this is in the works as I am curious as to where the author would take this. The last few pages felt rushed and I sincerely hope to read more about Althea and Jack!
I love this cover and really liked the premise, but this felt more like a short story stretched out to fill a novel to me. There were some really weird elements that didn‘t add to the plot and it never grabbed me and made me feel like I had to know what was coming next. The whole thing needed to go through a lot more development before it was published. There is a very divergent-like vibe to to the society. But divergent actually had a plot🤷🏼♀️
This cover made me take notice. Let‘s see how it is. Love the concept of it.
#bookmail! The next 2 #whodunitthesequel books from @TricksyTails in addition to some of my favorite peanut butter m&ms! And a book I won from bookish first, that I'm super excited to read!
My #bookishfirst win finally arrived!

Help! This is my library stack. Which should I start first? Any gems that stand out? Otherwise I'll have to go by date they're due...
Yay, I won a book! Can't wait to read this!

Book 11 of 2018. This was a super interesting YA sci-fi about a community of clones after a plague has killed all humans...except one. It had really interesting world building and empathetic characters. It's all about what it feels like to be the "only one" whether it's the only human or the only clone who feels different.
