Abigail Rook is my pick for a great curious character for the #ReadYourSign challenge. @Clwojick @Meaw_Catlady
I am so sad to see this series end, but I did really love how it played out. Weird and quirky and supernatural, this series really appealed to my love of all three.
I needed a break from Catherine House, and it's been a while since I've held a physical book in my hands. This one's been screaming at me from the shelf for a couple of weeks now. Time to finish up the series!

The Jacoby Quadilogy is probably my favorite set of paranormal/fantasy books. Unusual genre for me but I really like the mystery involved and the way they are written. Great characters.
" ' I read the first few,' said Jackaby. ' I've instructed my duck to just file the rest directly under P. I left it to him to decide if that was for politics or paranoia. ' "
Duck? Lol?

I tried Girl by Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young but that was a DNF by page 50 so I'm going to something I know I'll love
I'm a bit late! This is for yesterday!

I‘m finally getting some quality reading time in this evening... and Elliot is settling in for a cozy nap. 😻#catsoflitsy
The last book in the Jackaby series, and definitely my favorite of the 4.
I loved the ending 😱 omg 😍 could not have been a better book! The whole series came together perfectly ♥️
Waaaah I finished the book and now I‘m done with the series and why aren‘t there more books?!? 😭😭😭 This 4th and final installment in the Jackaby series was a lovely ending and I‘m going to miss these characters. If “Sherlock of paranormal crimes” sounds like fun, check it out!
I loved this series so much. I can‘t believe this was the final book- I‘m completely bummed 😫😫😫 I wanted this to be like a traditional detective series that went on and on! I‘ve written about these series before: they are Sherlock crossed with doctor who with fairy tales thrown in and I utterly adore them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
1. Abigail Rook and Charlie Cane (this was actual hard I suddenly forgot every book I ever read with a couple 😂)
2. Lilies
3. Candy. Specifically jelly belly jelly beans
4. 😘💜😘💜😘💜 Happy Valentine‘s Day everyone!

Admiring my red stack of books. Last time I organized them I organized by color. Won't last long because I can't stand to have my genres mixed.
1. Teleport 😆
2. The Dire King
3. Nope
4. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
5. Ok

Lovely end to a fantastic adventure.
I have enjoy this entire series, so glad I decided to pick up these books. 🤩

I treated myself for accomplishing my goals! I‘m sad to finish off the Jackaby series. So very excited to pick up where I left off with the most amazing series ever with Tower of Dawn... annnnd as most of you know, I am a total sucker for Fairy tales so I had to get a couple new ones. The Grimm book made me drool.😍😍😍
This series was so fantastic! The ending was perfect. Though I‘m so sad it‘s over.
I LOVE THIS SERIES! It‘s been a long time since I‘ve read a series straight through, with no gaps or breathing space between. What a conclusion! I hope the author revisits this world because I‘d love to see what my faves are up too!

Fantastic conclusion to the Jackaby series. I‘ve loved each book, and The Dire King was no exception. William Ritter created a truly fascinating world in this paranormal take on Sherlock, and I highly recommend the series as a whole.
I thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion of William Ritter‘s fabulous Jackaby series...its great for fans of paranormal mysteries and (especially!) Sherlock Holmes.
“The crown, the spear, the shield. You cannot let him collect them. He has already taken the crown.”
The final book in the Jackaby series did NOT disappoint. Full of humor, action, and of course magic.
Sunday‘s view brought to you by The Dire King 🤴
All curled up with my fuzzy blanket, hot ramen 🍜 soup, and The Dire King. #currentread #direking #jackaby
I don‘t always read series back to back but I had to know what was going to happen. Overall, I think Ritter did a good job wrapping it up. I did have a few things figured out, but that didn‘t decrease my enjoyment. I don‘t want to spoil anything, but I might have preferred a not so neat wrap up. Also, part of me would have liked the series to be longer and part of me likes to imagine what the future holds for Jackaby and friends. #screamathon
1- cheating a little- The Dire King
2- Owen King
3- I‘m a Killer
4- Key Lime pie

I finished this in one day. I just couldn‘t stop! Ritter created a memorable world with great characters. The ending I saw coming but I really enjoyed it, and the last page had me a little misty eyed. One of those I knew but didn‘t know moments. (Anyone else get these?) I just loved this series!
Decided to continue the tradition of reading this series out loud with my parents on long car trips to and from vacation, which meant I had to do my share of the reading with a dog either cuddled up to me or climbing over me. We thoroughly enjoyed this series finale, although I really wish YA books would stop killing off MCs and then reviving them. Not everything needs a happy ending wrapped in a neat little bow.
Loved loved loved this entire series! Went through a full range of emotions at the end and I am definitely sad that it is over!
“Jackaby almost never summoned a cab if he could manage it on foot.”
This book was excellent. It was wonderfully written, had excellent visuals, realistic characters, but then again that‘s not out of the ordinary for any book in this series. It was wonderful to read, and had the best ending I ever could‘ve hoped for. There is absolutely no downside to this book, and it was an excellent way to finish an excellent series.
#BookMail No2 (though, is it bookmail if the giver hands it to you in person🤔) is the 4th & last book in the Jackaby series. I‘ve only just finished the third book, so even though my daughter gave me my Birthday presents 2months late, you could say it was great timing⏳👍
1/ The Dire King
2/ the lynching memorial opened a couple of hours from where I live.
3/ wish I was.
4/ I can‘t tell a joke to save my life but I think this is funny: If the Silver Surfer and Iron Man teamed up, they‘d be alloys.
5/ 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏽👍🏿
#friyayintro @jesshowbooks
1/ I think I saw a reference to it on Facebook.
2/ Yes — both through Goodreads and in a print journal.
3/ Yes — I‘ve read several books that would never have even crossed my radar otherwise.
4/ William Ritter‘s The Dire King
@Chellebearss
I think Mr. Ritter may be a Pirates fan because I had total Jack Sparrow vibes when I read this passage. 😂😂
I LOVED this series. This was the final book and it did such a great job of bringing everything together without feeling rushed or cliché. There were a few things that I did see coming but I still loved it anyway. I cannot wait to see what this author does next. Hopefully he will return to this world at some point ❤
If you read one series this year, make it the Jackaby series by William Ritter! It has everything a reader could want... and more!!
It has all the witty humor and sarcastic charm of Sherlock Holmes plus every myth, legend, folktale, epic adventure, romance, imagination, and most of all: magic!! ☆☆☆☆☆ 💜✌🏻
Come on Libby I just want to read some books!
What books are you guys waiting on?
#Help #LibraryBlues #HoldList
Overall, not the strongest in the series and there were some definite holes in the how of the big bad and the lead up to the war but the emotions and the rallying cry of the main characters were spot on. A satisfying if heart-rending conclusion. All the feels! I wonder what Mr. Ritter will come up with next?
About the audio, Nicola Barber embodies the varied cast of characters wonderfully but there were weird breath noises that needed editing.
“I have never found a book that did not have at least a little magic in it...They can‘t help it. They‘re made out of words..”
❤️
“...being different doesn‘t have to mean a decision between separation or confrontation. I have to believe there‘s a third path. I have to believe we can walk that path together.”
It‘s difficult to puzzle with tears in your eyes. The ending SLAYED me. 🗡💔 Review when I‘ve had a little recovery time.
On a different note, has anyone DNFed a puzzle before? I wasn‘t feeling my last puzzle so I dismantled what I had done and started on this Charley Harper.
“The first battlefield isn‘t a place; it‘s a point of view.”
Yes!
