pickThis is a soft pick for me. I love T. Kingfisher, but cozy fantasy has to strike me at the right time, otherwise the meandering pace just feels like a slog, and this was just longer than my interest. That said, I haven‘t read her other books set in this world, and I loved the worldbuilding, especially involving the different priesthoods.
I had some trouble deciding between Swordheart and Twelth Knight by Alexene Farol Follmuth, but it's hard to beat T. Kingfisher, especially when there are gnolls.

I love Kingfisher's fantasy world, and this was such a fun read within it. I loved the characters, and would love to read more books about the other two servants of the sword.
pickThis book was amazing⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The characters, world building and witty laugh out loud banter was all perfections. Loved reading a cozy fantasy with an older FMC Halla was so relatable and funny. I didn‘t realize this was set in an established world from other series but that didn‘t hurt the story at all. I can‘t wait to get more books set in the world and really look forward to the sequel hinted at the end.
pickTad bit more angst, moral grayness and murder than I expected, but overall, fairly fluffy romantasy with enough adventure plot and character development to keep me interested. Frequent bursts of hysterical giggling suggest T. Kingfisher can bring the humour regardless of genre. The HEA's never really in doubt. 😉 1/?

pickKingfisher is a new favorite & an automatic buy. Her fantasy worlds are filled with interesting characters, intriguing magic, loads of humor & delightful banter—they‘re just fun stories to read. And this one, as much romance as fantasy, has an immortal swordsman, trapped in a sword & at the command of whoever holds it & a feisty, independent widow who just wants to live her life plus a monk, miscreants, obnoxious family, & more. So fun.
Every bit as entertaining as I expected…and I‘ve laughed out loud enough I‘ve had to start reading passages to my husband because he keeps asking me what‘s going on. Kingfisher is definitely becoming a new favorite…
Going with a housekeeper who inherits an immortal swordsman trapped inside a…you guessed it…sword to start the morning. It‘s another Kingfisher book so I‘m anticipating a wildly fun story.

I've wanted to read this for ages and I'm so glad I finally did cause I loved it. Great standalone fantasy romance. I liked the romance but also loved the worldbuilding and secondary characters.
pickThis was a fun fantasy/romance/adventure. The main character accidentally discovers a magic sword with an enchanted guardian. Things I love - older (late 30‘s) heroine & hero - delightful banter - great side characters. Our heroine can be a bit much at times, but still a great read. I am loving this author‘s humor and look forward to more reads by Kingfisher. 4.5⭐️
pickI only discovered T Kingfisher about 8 months ago, and I absolutely adore her. I don‘t think I‘ve ever found an author who consistently makes me chortle whilst reading as she does. This was the fifth books of hers I‘ve read and it is as wonderful as the others - and can I just say how refreshing it is to read a book where the protagonists are 30+ years old? I hope that this does turn into a trilogy, as I definitely want to read more.

I didn‘t know what to expect when I started this book, but I‘m so glad that I gave it a chance. This book is hilarious with a great plot, wonderful characters, and a sweet romance. It was so good that I blew through this 426 page read. I look forward to reading more books from Kingfisher!
pickThis story is a near neighbor of the Clocktaur War books. I came for the inventive settings, the amusing dialog, and the fun characters. I was ambushed by a Romance plot. (I'm not overly fond of romances; I think they're tedious.) I still had a great time. The best part for me was the heroine's superpower: the ability to confuse and confound any foe (and most friends) with stream-of-consciousness absurdities that almost make sense.
pickI loved this book so much more than I expected. It was SO funny - I was literally laughing out loud throughout (and I definitely scared my dog a couple times). It reminds me of another recent favorite - The Blacksmith Queen. Apparently books that are fairly violent, adorably romantic, absurd, and unexpectedly hilarious are exactly my cup of tea. I can‘t wait to read more from this author!

It has really been too long since I've read T. Kingfisher/Ursula Vernon. It's so hard to find good comic fantasy, you'd think I would keep the sources I know of near to hand.
pickI would read pretty much anything Ursula Vernon writes. Her blend of humor and world-building is just my cup of tea. This book is what happens if you cross Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, and a D&D campaign. It is hilarious and smart and definitely worth the $1.99 that it‘s currently being offered at.
pickThis #romantsy is so fun. The heroine, Hella is older, chatty, easily distracted and getting the chance to be her own hero for the first time because she accidentally becomes the wielder of an enchanted sword. The hero, Sarkis, is trapped in the sword.
pickSet in the same world as - and a few months on from - the Clocktaur Duology, this is another stonking book from T. Kingfisher/Ursula Vernon. The death of her great-uncle leads to Halla discovering she would rather kill herself than marry her cousin. Thus begins a romance featuring an enchanted sword, lawyerly priests, bandits and a very patient ox. Highly recommended!

Catching a cold just before the weekend is so unlucky! 🤒 But I'm glad that I started Swordheart yesterday - it's funny and engaging, I even hope for the romantic line, what I don't normally do, but the characters are just right for it 💕 A good laugh and fruit tea with honey must stop my running nose! 🍵🍯😊
pickA hugely enjoyable romantic fantasy brimming with humour and great characters. If you need a break from angsty grimdark fantasy where the fate of the world lies in the balance, read this. It's light, it's laugh out loud funny, and the romance is very sweet.

pickA pick, a pick, a pick! I chortled through the whole thing. The author seems to be creating the books in this Clocktaur world by sticking obscure D&D characters in a creativity box, shaking madly, and playing with the tropes, and oh, that route so works for me. I am super excited to learn that more books are planned!
