Return to the magical world of Nevermoor! Morrigan Crow's perilous adventures continue in the most anticipated sequel of the year, a treat for all fans of magic and Wunder. Morrigan Crow has been invited to join the prestigious Wundrous Society, a place that promised her friendship, protection and belonging for life. She's hoping for an education full of wunder, imagination and discovery - but all the Society want to teach her is how evil Wundersmiths are. And someone is blackmailing Morrigan's unit, turning her last few loyal friends against her. Has Morrigan escaped from being the cursed child of Wintersea only to become the most hated figure in Nevermoor? Worst of all, people have started to go missing. The fantastical city of Nevermoor, once a place of magic and safety, is now riddled with fear and suspicion... These books really are so much fun! There is some bullying and exclusion in this book, which honestly just made me relate to Morrigan but she always had her found family and a surprising new friend on her side. This world really is magical.

Slower in pacing but no less imaginative than the first. This is a fantastically fun series.

Didn't take me long to get through the second Morrigan Crow book, and it was every bit as good as the first one, possibly even better. I'm really looking forward to seeing where the author takes the story next.

Loved this second book in the Nevermoor series. Was able to finish this one today. This series is so fun and though it's over 500 pages, it is a quick read. I know the 3rd book is now out so will hopefully get it sooner rather than later.

These are just easy, fun, magical books to read. The whole way through I was rooting for Morrigan. These books bring out your inner child and desire for dreams and magic and the possibility of the impossible.

4-31 Mar 2021 (audiobook)
This second book in the series was less derivative than the first and I look forward to seeing where the rest of the series leads. Listening with Trixie in the car is not necessarily conducive to following complex plots and, although not overly complex, I did sometimes wonder whether I had missed something. Nevertheless, it was a bit of fun, a bit macabre but not too scary. Moving on to number three, Hollowpox.

I needed a nice little “happy“ read to ge the going. I have been having a hard time with catching up on my reading with so much going on lately but... I think this will help as its not super intense and the first one was just such a great great story!

@CeBee Thanks for recommending this series!

I absolutely love these books as they are a fun break from reality. I am looking forward to diving into Hollowpox soon, as well. Few books feel as magical as the Nevermoor series, and the audiobooks are fantastic if you get a chance to listen. The narrator does all the different voices and the musical interludes add to the charm.

I enjoyed Wundersmith even more than Nevermoor. I loved seeing into the Wunderous Society, and all the magical features of the school and the hotel. Then, there was the mystery to solve, which kept me guessing until the last third of the book. Truly amazing a fun, engaging middle school read (that clearly appeals to all ages!) Bring on Hollowpox!!

Book 80 audio

This was as good or better than the first. I was completely crushed when I saw the 3rd book doesnt come out until October. But I bought the first two in hard cover and pre-ordered the 3rd. Shared these two with my 14 year old and had to get on her case today as she was reading in her virtual class instead of paying attention. 🤣
We may have to thumb wrestle to see who gets to read the 3rd book first.

Magnificent! Love this! ESPECIALLY on audio!
This is the closest thing I've found to Harry Potter. It's a different story, but gives me a lot of the same feels as HP. But..don't go in with HP expectations, enjoy the book as you did your first read through of HP and I think you'll be enamored just like me. Hoping this is made into a movie! 🤞 ❤️💜💛

I‘ve had some trouble settling on my next book and in the end have decided on the Potter-esque junior/middle grade fiction. It‘s book two in the Morrigan Crow series and us quite fantastical.

I was delighted to be back in Nevermoor with Morrigan Crow and her patron Jupiter as she finally enters the prestigious Wundrous Society, the trials of which she passed in the first book. But things aren‘t getting any easier for young Morrigan. She might be in the society but all they want to teach her is how evil Wundersmiths like her are. Also people are going missing and someone is blackmailing her class. More👇

RealLifeReading If you like stories that are a little bit quirky and set in a whimsical world, featuring a plucky young girl who‘s got a bit of a dark side and who lives in a hotel with its many unusual guests and staff like a giant Magnificat who‘s head of housekeeping and a vampire dwarf/party planner. this series! I love the world building, I love the whimsy but especially that there‘s this delightfully dark side to it all (edited) 6y

The second in the series, Wundersmith continued the story of Morrigan Crow. The story takes us to the education of the newest members of the Wundrous Society. People are missing and mystery ensues. This is my Harry Potter series and I can‘t wait until the next installment. The author has signed to do a third but envisions nine books. Oh how I hope her vision becomes a reality.
