This was my only 5⭐️ review for #July #12BooksFor2021.
Centered around a hospice/rehab center, it‘s told in multiple character voices and also has multiple themes to explore. It‘s a great one.
pickSuch a good book, but keep the tissues handy. Centers around a hospice/rehabilitation center in London and told in different character voices. Lots of it features letters written by Stella (a nurse) for those saying their last goodbyes. Stella, Hugh and Hope (our voices) each have their own issues with death…Stella as a nurse cares for those staring it in the face, Hugh lost his beloved mom at age 10 and Hope feels she is living on borrowed 🔻

I found myself highlighting SO many passages in this book.
“ Don‘t wait for anything-just do it. There is never a right time, except for now. The right time is always now”
“ Everyday we were together was like the first day. Perhaps it was because he was away so much, because we spend so much time apart, that when we were together we were starving for each other - desperate and hungry for every second that we were connected”
pickStella is a night nurse at a hospice and helps the dying write letters to the loved ones they will leave behind. But there are so many other layers to this story.
pickSansa and I finished this tonight 😀 Not my normal sort of book at all - but really enjoyed it and had a lump in my throat through most of it. Some great life themes, appreciate what you have and love your nearest and dearest and tell them.
Quick lunchtime read. I think I have had a lump in my throat for every page in this book.

pickA nurse at a hospice-type hospital interacts with her patients to avoid the problems in her marriage. The letters between the chapters was a nice touch. I enjoyed reading this.
Poolside. A beautiful afternoon and a delightful book. Paired with an orange juice & vanilla vodka on ice.
pickI was eager to read this novel after seeing Rowan Coleman's youtube video about the book. After reading the book jacket I was nervous. It was our Book Club Pick on Facebook. I was thinking is this going to be a book that made me sad and down. However I jumped in and I was hooked. It's not a book that makes you sad. It makes you realise how blessed each moment is. It makes you think about your own life and it's importance.
The easy flow of writing
pickOh my god, this book.... kicked in the stomach, brought me to tears, made my heart swell, sink, and everything in between. Fans of JoJo Moyes will seriously love these beautiful characters and their stories.

pickI loved Rowan Coleman's The Memory Book so was really looking forward to reading this. It certainly didn't disappoint. Snippets of letters written by people nearing the end of their life are woven in amongst the story and it worked beautifully. Pass the tissues...
