Like the hygge book, this is filled with many ideas and tips to becoming happier. It also gives insight as to what he believes are the components to happiness, and explaining why they are important.

Saw @veritysalter ‘s review of this book so picked it for #NFN20
This short book discusses practicing Lykke (LOO-ka)—pursuing and finding the good that exists in the world around us every day. Discussing factors like togetherness, money, health, freedom, trust, and kindness, the book offers suggestions on pursuing happiness with experiments and ideas around the world.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some excellent advice from The Happiness Research Institute, boiled down to get out more and be with people - as these are things I cannot do at the moment, I have organised my photos of happy memories onto my screensaver and am beginning to look for volunteer opportunities post-Covid #NFN2020 #Book 20pt
I am so enjoying my first #NFN2020 read, The Little Book of Lykke and reading about the things that make us happy. 5pts
Times have been really hard lately, and I‘ve spent more time crying and worrying than anything else. While working from home the rest of the year can be a blessing, it has also been extremely difficult. I picked up this little guy and the pictures alone in this book are already cheering me up.
It was a sad day across America yesterday so I sat with this little book and truly appreciated the happiness tips. He explained how Denmark places unabashed value on free time. I thought about that reminder all day and hope to never forget it.

Book worth of reading, not only because this is the direct guide to the personal and collective happiness but it change mental picture of perceptions inside me. Grateful to observe it.
Key thoughts on the book:
- We do not in everything to be happy.
- Equality and simple thing may count us together to create meaningful relations.
- I am not impressed by money, social status or job title. I impressed by the was someone treats other human.
I loved his previous book, starting this today :) have you read this?
There is some good advice in this one such as “buy memories, not things”, and “train your empathy muscle”, be kind and give your time, with stories and examples about what kinds of things people have done. Some of the suggestions such as riding a bike everywhere aren‘t as doable for everyone. Also, some happiness factor examples used in the book were for people who work in offices only, not the service industry or other jobs like manufacturing.
Great book with hands-on tips to make your environment and yourself happier.
This was between a Pick and So-so. I like the humor the author added to the information.
Came across this little book while scrolling around on Hoopla. I liked The Little Book of Hygge so I thought I'd give it a try. #LitsyAtoZ
I present my top 10 books for 2018. This list was harder to select than I anticipated. It is in no specific order as that makes this process even more difficult 🤪😉! My reading goal for the year was 72 and my secondary goal was 100. I finished with 90 books read!
Had some good ideas and interesting info, but I skimmed over the last chapter as it was getting long winded and boring. The pics and formatting was nice though.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This made me want to move to Denmark. So I researched how to move there. It‘s very difficult. Now I‘m sad.
Let‘s see what this is all about then ...
Some very interesting ideas in the book. Using literature to teach empathy and understanding.

What are you reading on this fine Tuesday?
#2018GoodReads Just finished#4 for 2018👍📚❤️
Getting started on this next for bout of books 21 📚
Another great book by Wiking—I‘m fascinated with the interesting little tidbits he gives us on what makes happier people. I loved the part about reading “literary fiction” and how that makes people more empathetic. I mean, I already knew it, but it‘s nice to hear stuff you‘ve thought all along be confirmed. 😂 Oh, and I love the color illustrations throughout!
After a bad book, I was happy to read this. Not a scientific study, but a nice overview with examples of what makes people happy and who the happiest people in the world are. Much if what I read was not new, but I learned a few things and enjoyed the audiobook. Book15/275
From now on Meik Wiking should release a new book every December and that is how I should start my new year. Always. This is how I started 2017 and how I started this year. Even though I pre-ordered this book and received it the day of its publication I was hard pressed to pass up listening to the audiobook. I would really like to marry Meik Wiking's voice (oh yes he's nice to look at too *wink*). (Review too long checkout my Goodreads 😉.)
This is my breakfast read currently-great way to start my day with short focused chapters! I also read The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking. The Danes have the happy factor going on👍
Worth your time! Look for the little things that make people happy, like little books about happiness read by men with really nice accents :)
Loved the little book of Hygge, and Meik‘s second book is just as uplifting and easy to read 😊
2017 has been a difficult year for me and I've struggled for a long time to pull myself out of a dark hole but the last few months have been better. Books like this one which focuses on happiness and how to achieve it have been helping. I wrote a blog post about it today and now I'm looking for other books that might also help me see the positives. Any recommendations?
Quick, funny, practical book about the search for happiness, full of amusing or touching anecdotes and practical hints.
My audio accompaniment for this morning's walk. Had to come home and write a few interesting bits down.
Got both books, just as it got colder
Loving this....
I love pre-order book mail, lovely surprise to open this 💕
