I can only imagine the blessing and curse of never being able to forget anything.
family and discover the killers true identity.
As Amos Decker is investigating a school shooting a message is left in his old home detailing how the shooter is the same man who murdered Amos‘ family over a year ago. Amos must follow the messages planted for him in order to catch the murderer of his family and discover the killers true identity. This book is similar to 24 and the fugitive, if you enjoy either of those you will enjoy this book.

Loved the story! It was complex but not to the point where I was lost. I will definitely keep reading the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Totally loved this one!! Powered through a lot this past week thanks to my awesome cheer squad!! Now my only question is…🧐How do I sneak in book 2 during June (‘cause my lists are already made & posted)? #ImpulseRead I think will be my answer🤓📚❤️🔥
Very gripping! (Trigger: school shooting). Dekker never recovered from the murder of his entire family, but he is trying to put himself together just as a man turns himself in and confesses while a school shooting is occurring. Complicated, yes; but Dekker is convinced it‘s somehow all tied in.

New series & new to me author. Looking forward to this one. Heard nothing but good things & it‘s Mère approved too???
I‘m on the couch with Missy Jo and my book contemplating an outside walk this afternoon… the windchill of 1F is about to convince me to stay on the couch with my book and Missy Jo enjoying #JoyousJanuary Day 1. 🥶
I've been tentative about authors who seem to crank novels like a machine. I loathe formulaic writing. This was my intro to Baldacci. I was impressed! The character development was great. Amos Decker was believable and well fleshed out. The plot kept me wondering and turning the pages. I look forward to the next book and how Amos develops further. 5 🌟
It's on my December #bookspinbingo. I'll take the jumpstart. Interestingly enough, I've had books started prior to the next month's drawing come up as #bookspin or #doublespin 2 or 3 times.
Decided to add some "adventure" to my reading. Paid more per book than I like, but when you drive 45 minutes because they boast 200000 books in store, you bite the bullet. #usedbookstores #buyallthebooks #badpuns
Deleted review bc I've decided not to support this author who writes about marginalized communities in superficial and harmful ways

Great start to a series with Amos Decker, who with a football injury to the head, has quite the memory...

This is a great series and another one of my favorites!
The puzzle I worked on while listening to the tagged book.
This is my first book by him. I liked the story. The audiobook was terrible. The audio kept jumping with different voices. I don‘t know if it was an attempt to have the dialogue more interesting or what, but it wasn‘t good.
I took a class from Baldacci and enjoyed it, so I picked up this book. It was worth it. I love Amos Decker‘s skill/curse with memory.
Thanks @Avanders for the tag! I had a hard time picking six because I‘ve had several slumps this year These have been my favorites so far this year. Great idea @Cinfhen !

I listened to this while driving from southern Mississippi back to Illinois yesterday and it was just what I needed to pass the miles away. So far David Baldacci hasn‘t let me down, and I‘m going to have to check out more of this Amos Decker series.
I‘m not sure what the deal is with this audiobook but it sounds like every other line was stitched together from different recording sessions. Voice sounds so different it sounds like a different character. Very distracting. Anyone ever run into this with audiobooks?
61 % in and kinda feel like David Baldacci is trying to hard in this book. Just my opinion but most of this story isn‘t even plausible!
A bit disappointed in how on the nose Baldacci is trying to tackle trendy themes to be current. Trans/Intersexuality, school schootings, police injustice, toxic masculinity and lad culture, subculture darknet, the mental spectrum... combined with his usual „superhuman with (only) one flaw“ hero and bossy female sidekick it comes out a bit boring.
DONE with the #24b42019 #readathon though i was easy on myself, listening to a lot of #audiobook (s) while going about the last sunday of the year. Final tally:
📚finished Coelhos VALKYRIES for #12Littens12Books
📚 finished FRUIT OF KNOWLEDGE
📼 finished VOX
📼 finished THE CLOCKS
🎼 half way through MEMORY MAN
📖 early chapters of NEVER LET ME GO
Listening to yet another audio while adding up my #bulletjournal #readinglog while doing #bookandbreakfast and #24b42019. I should just about make it, if i get a few pages in on the train to my new year‘s party!
Amos Decker's life changed forever--twice.
The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good, and left him with an improbable side effect--he can never forget anything.

Loving my new kindle case!!!!!
This book came highly recommended, but it was not what I expected. I did like the character Amos Decker, the “Memory Man”, who because of a football injury does not forget anything. It was the overabundance of horrific events that took place in this story that did not sit well with me. I expect a few in a crime mystery, but this crossed the line for my taste.
Just finished a new trail walk while audio reading! #getoutdoors
This past weekend a friend of my husband‘s recommended this book. I know this author is very prolific, so I thought I would give it a try! #friendsrecommends
I just finished book .Still breathing heavily what an extraordinary way of putting the story in words .must read book for the mystery lovers❤.
I like Amos Decker. He never forgets anything, at all, ever. He doesn‘t pick up on normal social cues and is guilt-ridden over the murders of his wife and daughter, which he found. The details and twists are great, if sometimes really convenient. And SO much page space is given to Decker‘s body size. So my first Baldacci didn‘t reach Karin Slaughter or Michael Connelly status, but that‘s okay. Still continuing with the series! Super entertaining.
I just started this one and got hooked super early in. Like in the first few chapters. Remembering EVERYTHING? Yikes.
Since it‘s time to cook for the evening, I downloaded the audiobook from my library 🙌🏻🎧 Truth be told, I‘m not 100% sure about the audio yet but I am really liking the story! (there is background music and a conversational style of multi-narrator recording vs different narrators for each POV)
“....[Amos] succumbed to the beast devouring his vastly altered mind.” The perfect way to describe a migraine.
This has been sitting on my shelf forever, and I‘ve finally started it. I‘m only a few chapters in and asking myself why didn‘t I start it sooner?! The first chapter hooked me. Hoping it keeps my interest the whole way through because I need to know who-dunnit.
“Grand master of memory? What did she have to do?” “Three tasks. The first was to memorize 1000 random numbers in an hour next, she had to memorize the order of 10 decks of cards in an hour and lastly, memorize the order of one deck of cards in under two minutes.” #memory #may #readingresolutions @Jess7
Finished rather quickly as I was anxious to get to the reveal. Overall - for me - it was a great read :)
Former cop Amos Decker has perfect recall due to a head injury; however, he has no idea who killed his wife and daughter. After a massacre at a high school, Decker learns the cases are connected. And he comes to realize that this a personal vendetta against him. It‘s a terrific read with plenty of plot twists and suspense. It‘s a tad on the gory side, if you are willing to suspend your disbelief, you might want to consider checking this one out.
About three-quarters of the way through this thriller. It‘s the first Amos Decker book. I read the third book first. Don‘t duplicate my mistake!
Overall, Memory man is a solid thriller and a great start for the Amos Decker series.
4/5 Stars.
Amos Decker is the Memory Man, due to a sporting injury he has now got a remarkable memory and can remember everything. All well and good you think, but there's are certain #memories you don't want to remember like walking in on the murder scene for his wife and daughter. This book introduces a fabulous new character as we get to know him in this and the other books in the series. Recommended! #NoteworthyNovember
I think today for #MelodiousMusicals #memories I will go with Amos Decker, the Memory Man! Have read the first two books in the trilogy and really enjoyed them, especially book 2 The Last Mile. I now need to get hold of the third book in the trilogy, The Fix. I say Trilogy but pleased to say there look as though there will be more books in the series! #audiobooks
#Cats truly has to be one of the standout musicals of the late 20th Century!
Gripping. I thought some of the 'deductions' made by Decker as a result of his condition were a bit too easily explained but they didn't matter overall and I moved on fairly quickly to book number two in this series.
