This book is so cute! I‘m so glad I picked it up at the library the other day. Koishi and her Dad run a hard to find restaurant and detective agency. You describe a dish associated with a memory that you want to taste again and they will make it for you, make it taste the same as it did in that memory.

Highly, highly recommend if you need something cozy to read.

It‘s a pretty nice spring day. Starting a new book from my #AuldLangSpine list to try to get out of a bit of a reading slump. The barista excitedly told me she just finished this one as she was bringing me my dirty chai (also having overnight oats with apples and peanut butter).

5feet.of.fury That cover is so cuuute 😻 6d

I finished the last book and the pollen onslaught drove me back inside so I‘m diving back into this one.

#FeelinTheLove Day 13: When Llewellyn meets Evelyn, Llewellyn hands her a jar filled with cherry light. Since then, Llewellyn and Evelyn collect things together. One day, Evelyn tells Llewellyn that her family is moving away. What will happen to their friendship? In a Jar is a beautiful reminder that friendship knows no distance. #LongDistanceLove - Fats‘ review here: https://gatheringbooks.org/2020/04/27/monday-reading-bunny-stories-parting/

First finished book of 2025! There seemed to be some missed potential in not connecting the individual vignettes but otherwise it‘s a nice cozy book! Apparently GoodReads has a list of cozy translated novels….and I‘ve read several. This genre is my jam! Thanks, Rachel, for sharing this book with me! I really enjoyed it! #LitsyLove

3.5/4⭐️ (between very good and excellent)

I love the premise of this book and I flew through it, however I suspect I would have enjoyed it even more if I knew more about Japanese cuisine. The food descriptions meant nothing to me. The human stories resonated though.

Plot and Engagement: 4 (excellent) Character and Atmosphere: 3 (very good)

Actually, originally from Walt Whitman. Oh, how I love this movie! It came out when I was a freshman in high school, so I felt like I went through school with them. We actually performed it in concert choir, too. #memories

A Japanese translated fabulist tale of a hole in the wall diner that doubles as a detective agency: seeking out that formative meal from your past that you long to recreate.

An absolutely charming tale, with a loving father and daughter relationship, and food in every chapter that made my mouth water!
