1️⃣ I am finishing the audio version of the tagged book and have partially started the others.
2️⃣ It‘s chilly here! We might get some freezing rain today. Great day to stay in and read!
3️⃣ I stay warm with cozy blankets. Don‘t like the heat too high!

June #BookSpin @TheAromaofBooks (Am I late)☺️& July #Reading withMaja set in summer @maich If you know this author you know this is about family drama. 1941 4 YA friends created The Hide Tide Club, a big secret related with a murder. One of them at age 99 wants to make amends with these friends or their relatives. Why? Many secrets. Predictable twits but I enjoyed this author's books. Love Varina, and her great heart. It has funny scenes. 3.4⭐️
Here's how my #bookspinbingo card looks! The empty spots are free spaces. The tagged book is my actual #bookspin - which is the one book I know I'll read this month because it's my book club book! 😄
@TheAromaofBooks
This book was way too long.
But the bigger problem from my POV is how the author treats the black characters. The main character is white and has lots of white fragility but is portrayed as a good ally. And then crazy things happen to black characters. Like, at one point they ask a black person in the book if she can tell if someone is mixed race because none of the white characters can. Good god. Does this stuff strike anyone else as annoying?
Thoroughly enjoyed this generational tale filled with love, murder, and feisty female protagonists!
Really disappointed with this. Didn‘t like any of the characters, thought the plot was both predictable and not very well executed. Sad because I‘ve heard great things about earlier Mary Kay Andrews books.
Another great book from Andrews. This one had a lot of elements including a really good mystery. Nicely done.
Another author I like to save for my beach vacation.
A beautiful and heart-warming story about family, friendship, and the secrets we keep.
I wasn't sure I would like this book at first but I ended up falling in love with it. I loved the characters and the way the story was told. I was able to put myself in the shoes of each of the women. I loved the way the story combined the past with the present and how one person's secrets affected her family/friends in the future.
This is the kind of morning I live for. Got to sleep in a little, there's a continuous breeze on the back porch, it's currently in the low 70's, I got my book and coffee, and when I find the energy to get out of my comfy chair I'm gonna get my laptop and get some writing and querying in.

Told through snippets of past memories and current events, The High Tide Club, is an entertaining and engaging piece of modern women‘s mystery fiction. I was pleasantly surprised by the direction this storyline took. Each character was well crafted, flaws and all, and that made them come to life as their stories were weaved together like an old, handmade quilt.

I was expecting a light breezy beach read based on the cover. This was not really that book, but it was a good tale of friendship and family and good intentions going wrong.
This was the first book I've read by this author. It was perfect for a vacation read. There was a lot going on in this book, and it kept me turning the pages. The cover is cute too! I'd definitely read more of her books.
What a PERFECT summer read. It‘s southern life reminiscent of Gone With the Wind, and the WWll era mixed into the present. All taking place on a picturesque Island off Georgia‘s coast.
Friendships, love, mystery and murder. Yes, MURDER in an MKA novel which pleasantly surprised me. Mary Kay Andrews books are a hit or miss for me, but this is definitely a HIT!! I highly recommend!! 5 ☆ 🌊🦀
Sorry I‘m posting this late @wanderinglynn 💙

Toes in the water, book in my hand...it‘s a beautiful day!
Kicking off Memorial Day Weekend with a beach read by one of my favorite beachy authors and salad to offset the junk later on in the weekend!
Time for another brain break from Bonfire Of The Vanities. I‘ve never encountered a book that I need a mental break from every few chapters before. I can‘t figure out why, considering it‘s a very well written and incredibly absorbing book. But every hundred pages or so my brain feels like mush and I have to stop. I read Bleak House faster. Here‘s hoping some beachiness will be the perfect antidote.
Also, this is my first ever Mary Kay Andrews!
It‘s the weekend, and I‘m diving in!
Mary Kay Andrews has written a wonderful book of intrigue, love, heartbreak and friendship new and old. The story started slowly but once you get into the heart of the story it really gets going and you won‘t want to put it down.
Trying to finish this book today. The mystery aspect keeps the pages turning, but I have to slug through the overly cheesy and immense amount of dialogue.
Enjoying the cool evening. Kiddos playing outside to get rid of their energy. Need a little sugar to help me get through the battle of bedtime in an hour.
Loved this one! Mary Kay Andrews is fantastic! Definitely recommend!
It‘s almost 9 am. I keep saying to myself just one more chapter (they‘re super short), but seriously, that was 10 chapters ago. This is getting so good!!
#currentsituation snuggled up in bed with my 2 pups, fantastic movie on the tube and a book. I‘m having a little trouble getting into this one - but it might just be my frame of mind the last 2 days.
Not book related but this was our view at our Mother‘s Day brunch. Lake Tahoe was a little overcast today but still a comfortable temp. Food was okay, bill was outrageous (over $200 for 3 of us) but hey, mom‘s worth it right? 😉 hope everyone had a great day.
A dying woman asks Brooke to prepare her estate, but the young woman is met with new revelations about old history at every turn.
This novel seems like a departure from the lighter romances of Mary Kay Andrews I've read recently. I did enjoy the information about Geechee culture the novel provides and rooted for Brooke, the main character, throughout.
Up next ... I need some lightness while also reading The Librarian of Auschwitz which is wonderful but heavy and dark. This should help me find some balance! #currentlyreading #book #bookstagram #bookish #booknerd #reading #bookaholic #bookaddict #ilovebooks #bookgeek #readersofinstagram
Yay. Finally getting to start this. Book no. 40 on the year ☺️
Longest/shortest week ever at the biggest trade show in my industry!! The time flew by but it was long and exhausting at the same time. Now it‘s time to kickback for a few hours with a cheesy beach read before heading to the airport and back to Wisconsin, where it is 36* and rainy. 👎
1. Not to complain about spring, but the junk that falls off the trees this time of year makes me crazy.
2. Socks. Or shower gel
3. Tagged - Im thinking it will be a great pool read!
4. Chocolate covered almonds
5. @Karkar @cobwebmoth @Chelleo Happy Friday!!

Yaaaaaaay!! My #Goodreads win from over a month ago finally arrived. I‘m chuckling over the “early readers” sticker since this was released 3 days ago. Now I gotta hurry and finish my #currentread and get on to this one! #winnerwinnerchickenandanewbookdinner
So this released today YAY!!! I have been first in line at the library on the ebook side for months so imagine my happiness last night when I got the notification it was available for download. And THEN imagine my irritation to realize it doesn‘t support Kindle and I can only read thru the Libby app on my phone. I‘m so annoyed. How do they NOT purchase a Kindle format copy? So I returned it and now have to wait who knows how long. 🤬🤬🤬
If you enjoy family sagas, secrets, and mysteries, you will want to read THE HIGH TIDE CLUB.
The characters were the highlight for me as well as the location.
The island, its history, and its description made you want to be there with the characters.
GREAT SUMMER READ. LOVE THE COVER.

Always a fun time selling books for Mary Kay Andrews. Thrilled to be here for the launch of her newest novel. Also the lovely Patti Callahan Henry was in the house.
