Giant Days, Volume 5 | 
pickI find this series to be utterly delightful. I read the first volume thinking I might not get into it because it's slice-of-life, but I fell in love with the characters, and it made me laugh. Cut to four volumes later, and I'm still liking it.
Book synchronicity - Esther‘s middle name is Fenella. I just finished Get a Life, Chloe Brown - Red asked Chloe if her middle name was Fenella. I‘ve never encountered this name anywhere before (I‘m guessing it‘s a British thing, and probably of a certain class?), and now twice in as many days.
pickLots of fun stuff happening in this one. I loved the music festival bits.

Just got to the States last night and so excited to be reunited with books that didn't fit in my luggage last time. Also put in 30 holds at the library 😂 starting off with these three. pickIf the last volume made me ask why I read this instead of rereading Bad Machinery, this reminded me of why this series is so fun. Daisy's archaeology dig was an absolute delight, and I could legit read just a full volume of the girls going to Ikea on its own. The music festival was a drag until the end, and the rest seemed like a lot of build-up for little result. Unless you count romantic tension between Esther and Ed? Up for it. A fun one.
My weekend reading plans include inhaling the next couple of volumes of Giant Days, finishing The Fifth Season, and starting my next #readersgonnaread book!

This=#allthefeels for me, but not so much in a good way-this is one way I AM like Daisy: trying to be accommodating, getting frustrated, & inappropriately blowing up in front of too many people. So part of why I love this series is that these characters in some ways totally map onto me and my best friends in college (I'm Daisy!), except that this scene would definitely have been played by my Susan, not by me.
