Teaming With Your Therapy Dog | Ann R. Howie

We‘re quite excited! Our labradoodle Bernie has aspired to be a therapy dog for 7ish years. We‘ve moved 3x in those years, so we‘ve done a lot of preparing/training. My husband Matthew and Bernie will be testing tomorrow for Companion Paws Canada. Our trainer says they‘re ready. I know they‘re ready. Crossing all our paws that test jitters don‘t make either of them too nervous. 🦮💜🐾

This MG novel in verse about Depression living in the Dustbowl was maybe not the smartest choice I could have made when I couldn‘t sleep last night at 3AM, but this likely would‘ve made me cry even if I‘d been feeling stable and well rested. So good! #AllTheFeels

dabbe Now you've hit on my favorite book of poetry EVER. I used this with my juniors during the Modernism period. I'd read just a few pages a day. What discussions we had! They loved opening class every day with this. I still hear “Apple Blossoms“ in my head and the line “she ached for rain/all day all night/she ached for rain.“ Saying it out loud with that long “a“ sound sounds just like an ache. I can't say enough about this book! 🤩🤩🤩 14mo

The Sleeping Car Porter | Suzette Mayr

To me it was sold as a sort of Alice In Wonderland, which is not the case. But I still don't regret having read this book. I haven't heard about the Sleeping Car Porters before and Mayr does a great job in showing us, how terrible it must've been. The reading list at the end of the book show clearly, how much work and effort she put into this book. And it truly shows.
