The creation of this collage was such fun! Christmas trees in town, snow flakes-hopeful, despite the prediction of 80 degree weather tomorrow- winter solstice cards, warm coffee & hot chocolate, birdsong.

With a twisting plot, Rosenfelt‘s latest installment (the 29th!) in the #AndyCarpenterSeries makes for another fast & fun read! The dog lover wrongfully accused this time comes from Marcus‘ request for a favor. One of his mentees allegedly committed a workplace mass shooting! It‘s not long before the usual cast tracks down leads to uncover a lethal conspiracy! With its consistent humor & tension, this is a fun read with your best furry friend!
This MG novel in verse about Depression living in the Dustbowl was maybe not the smartest choice I could have made when I couldn‘t sleep last night at 3AM, but this likely would‘ve made me cry even if I‘d been feeling stable and well rested. So good! #AllTheFeels
My daughter's 24 Books of Christmas are all set and ready! I've been doing this December Book-A-Day since she was 2 (she'll be 9 in 2 weeks) and she LOVES it! 🎄📚❤️
To me it was sold as a sort of Alice In Wonderland, which is not the case. But I still don't regret having read this book. I haven't heard about the Sleeping Car Porters before and Mayr does a great job in showing us, how terrible it must've been. The reading list at the end of the book show clearly, how much work and effort she put into this book. And it truly shows.

It's getting to be that time of year when seniors are dropping off grad photos...and today this lovely mug from a student I taught for one semester. This is a kid who was sitting in my regular grade 10 class and was so clearly smarter than me that I did everything in my power to push him into AP English...which he did. ❤️
Daisy the Ever-Dignified helped me finish this 1953 publication earlier. On the plus side, it‘s a strong call for readers to consider what words actually MEAN and the effect they produce. On the downside, Coombes often presents subjective responses as The One Great Truth—with, of course, a slew of white British dudes as exemplars. (To be fair, his dud examples are also white British dudes.) Basically, it‘s interesting, if biased and limited.
