Things I'm Seeing Without You | 
so-soI wanted to love this one! A novel about a girl who deals with a friend's suicide by helping her father run an alternative funeral business is literally a plot made for me. And parts of it were great! But ultimately it didn't work for me. I didn't get the romantic relationship at all and the zany road trip felt very out of place.
This was an amazing book. I was hooked from the first page to the last. It was a little messed up but in a good way. I recommend reading.

It‘s so, so important to have YA novels about serious topics like depression and suicide, because maybe reading a book like this could inspire someone who‘s struggling to seek help. But there were some things I would have changed about the way this story was told.

so-soI wanted to love this one. I saw a book trailer for it a few months ago from Penguin and thought it‘d be the next Fault in Our Stars. However, there was way too much teen angst in here. I realize that Tess was grieving and going through a complicated time in her life, but her character annoyed me. There were also a bunch of side characters that had potential, but I felt like their stories fell flat and weren‘t fleshed out. An average YA read.
pickQuick, vulnerable, and somewhat emotional read about grief and moving on. Main character experiences a loss of someone close to her and then continues to learn more about their relationship that she was previously unaware of as the story goes on. Shoutout to @everlocalwest for gifting me this one!
Anyone read this? I picked it up today and I'm excited to read it.

I was too busy book shopping to post yesterday. :D HPB had a special - free tote with any purchase and I can't turn down a tote bag.
Also, they had these #PenguinTeenGameChangers free samplers hanging out in their Teen section, so I snatched them up. Arcs would be better, but I'll take what I can get!
