Loved this! A great lead-in to Star Wars: Episode IX. Rebecca Roanhorse does a great job capturing all the character voices, especially General Leia.

Did I buy a second copy of a book I already own just because it was a super cute miniature version? Yes - yes I did. 😆
I think maybe this book just wasn‘t for me. ☹️ I love the idea of a satire on fairy tales, but to me the humor felt too forced and the book was too long.
Today I went to a comic book shop and bought comic books for the first time! (Of course they were #StarWars) ;) I‘m so excited to read these and I know I‘ll be back to get more!
Overall I enjoyed the second book more but still a nice conclusion to the story.
So I didn‘t actually enjoy this one as much as the previous two. :( I loved Thrawn and Thrawn: Alliances (loved the team-up with Vader in that one). For whatever reason the plot of this one didn‘t grab me as much. I‘m definitely interested in a fourth one though!
One of the things I love most about Sarah J. Maas is how she can start off a story one way and you think you know where this is all going, and then she switches things around and takes the story in a completely different direction that is even better. Can‘t wait to read the next one!
I had no idea about the history this book was based on, and it breaks my heart. Children in the late 1930s South are being kidnapped from their parents and adopted out to wealthy families. The orphanage runners profit from these adoptions, while abusing and neglecting these children. I‘m grateful Lisa Wingate is sharing this story, so this heartbreaking history is not forgotten. It reminds us to be vigilant and be a voice for justice.
I don‘t read a lot of graphic novels but I should definitely read more because I love the unique storytelling perspective this medium offers. This ARC is about a WWII photographer who helps keep hope alive by capturing beautiful moments on film.
This is an ARC of an upcoming middle-grade nonfiction about the sinking of a ship during WWII that was carrying children away from the British war zone. Such a tragic story and a reminder of the heartbreaking impact of war.

I‘m intrigued by the story set-up and characters; really curious to see where this series goes!
The first time I read this I sped through it so I could see what happened. The second time was more slowly, so I could savor it. I love this series so much, and the ending still makes me emotional. 💛 Shoutout to @BookFreakOut for introducing me to what‘s now one of my all time favorite series. Now on to the Court of Thorns and Roses series!
Went to the local bookstore to buy this tonight and found the hardcover on the bargain rack for just $6 - woohoo! 🥳
I could just keep reading these books over and over again! Love these characters and this world.
I love these books so much! ❤️ I‘ve really been enjoying my re-read of this series.
Finished up my latest book club book tonight while also getting in some snuggles with my cat. 😸 She‘s a great reading buddy.
I know it‘s been less than a year since I read the Throne of Glass series, but I loved it so much that after I borrowed copies of the series, I had to buy my own copies of my favorite books from the series for my collection. 📚I loved Crown of Midnight just as much the second time through!
Claudia Gray is my favorite Star Wars author, and I was so excited to meet her at Star Wars Celebration in April! I just finished reading her new book, Master and Apprentice, and wow - what a great dive into Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan‘s characters. Loved it! ❤️
I was super excited to snag a special edition of the Star Wars Padme novel, Queen‘s Shadow, at Star Wars Celebration this year! Overall I didn‘t love the book *quite* as much as I was hoping to, but I loved all the characters, particularly handmaiden Sabe.
An interesting read about a serious cholera epidemic in Victorian London and the investigator who figures out how to end it. It reminded me what a blessing it is to have easy access to good healthcare and clean water, and how we need to make sure that everyone has access to these things.
Claudia Gray + Star Wars. Always a winning combination! ❤️
I don‘t even know how to describe “The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle” without getting into spoilers, but I was amazed by this book. It has some of the feelings of a classic murder mystery, but answer to the mystery is definitely not what I would have guessed. The story takes some strange and unexpected turns. Highly recommend!
Even though stories told in the format of letters isn‘t my favorite literary technique (just a personal thing), I did really like the story and characters, and the historical setting.
I picked up this book because I‘m really interested in the time period. While I was really impressed with the detail and research, the writing style just wasn‘t for me. This focused more on facts and figures than stories of people.
A friend gave this to me for Christmas this year. 😊 I really enjoyed it, and was impressed with all the world-building. This was my first Brandon Sanderson book and I definitely want to check out his other work.
This is a hilarious little Star Wars self help parody, with advice from Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, etc. on how to advance in your career. 😆 Of course no one should take this advice in real life!
Another great Star Wars Shakespeare adaptation from Ian Doescher! It‘s so fun to read the Star Wars stories in Shakespearean format and Doescher puts a lot of work into making them sound authentic. Plus the illustrations are super fun!
The illustrations in the Star Wars Shakespeare books are just the best! I‘m reading The Last Jedi one now.
I picked up The Nightingale at a book swap event and wasn‘t prepared for how deeply this book would move me. It‘s a portrait of two sisters living in occupied France during WWII. Though the book is fiction, it raises awareness about the untold stories of women in wartime - their courage, their determination, and the ways they fight for what is good and right in the world. A powerful book - highly recommend.
Just completed my new collection of Harry Potter books. I love book spines that show a picture when you put them together!
While movie tie-in novelizations can be a little hit or miss (this book was more okay than amazing), I still enjoyed reading it because J.J. Abrams‘ “Star Trek” is one of my all-time favorite movies. I‘ve seen it a bazillion times already, but this book makes me want to watch it again! 💫
Lots of reading time today on the long drive back from vacation. I haven‘t read a lot of Star Wars comics, but I do enjoy them! This was an interesting story about a Jedi Padawan who is framed for a crime and forced to flee.
Vacation read #3! Super excited to re-read one of my favorite Star Wars books, Lost Stars. Taking notes this time, for blogging purposes. I‘m falling in love with this book all over again!
Book #2 of the trip! This was a really fascinating look at the wives of the early NASA astronauts. This is an authentic, honest look at the challenges they faced, and I‘m glad their story is being told. 🚀💫🌑
Stuck in a car all day on a long trip = extra time for reading! 😊 This is my first read of the vacation, a fun, quick adventure about Lando Calrissian.
Since I‘m trapped inside tonight due to bad weather ❄️ I worked on my Darth Vader book folding project that I got for Christmas. I‘ve never done a book page folding project before...it was fun! 😁
Loved this gorgeous art book featuring illustrations of the female characters from the Star Wars universe. The artwork is amazing, and the character descriptions are thoughtful and insightful. 💙
Finishing a series is always a bittersweet journey. I loved the Throne of Glass books so much, and while I‘m sad it‘s over, I‘m relieved that there was a happy ending!
My heart! ❤️😭❤️ I loved this book so much. I was already looking forward to this since it‘s about my fave, Chaol, but I wasn‘t expecting it to hit me in the feels as hard as it did. Loved how it handled his character journey. Plus all the new characters were awesome.
***Spoiler alert!!!***
Chaol/Yrene was the ship I never knew I needed but I love it so much. Loved Sartaq and Nesryn too. Okay, I‘m done gushing! Onto the final book in the series!
Another one down! I literally cannot stop reading - such a great series! I‘m in a hurry to finish and see what happens, but I know I‘ll also be sad when it‘s over. So many plot twists in this one!
Wow - this series just keeps getting better and better! I think this was my favorite one yet. I felt like I barely breathed while reading it - so intense! ;) I‘m almost afraid to keep reading, because I don‘t want anything bad to happen to my favorite characters, but I have to know what happens next!
My favorite reads of 2018: Vicious, Star Wars: Bloodline, Reaper at the Gates, and How to Walk Away. It was hard to narrow it down. So excited for lots of fun reads to come in 2019!
Took a detour on my Throne of Glass series read-through and read this book of novellas about Celaena. Then it‘s on to Queen of Shadows next!
