Anna Boyd almost lost her life to get what she wanted most in the world: freedom. But just when it seems that her family has finally escaped Witness Protection, the illusion that Anna could resume a normal life comes crashing down. The deadly man Anna knows as Thomas is still on the loose, and now he's using her as a pawn in a dangerous game with the drug cartel determined to silence her forever. When Thomas and a mysterious masked man capture not only Anna but also her fragile younger sister and her boyfriend, Anna decides it's time to break all the ruleseven if it means teaming up with the lesser of two evils. Anna will do whatever it takes to protect the people she loves and win her life back once and for all. But her true enemies are hidden in plain sight. Before long, Anna will learn that putting her trust in anyone may be the last mistake she ever makes.

This was a great conclusion to the series. It was a little slow in the beginning but quickly became fast pace. It was an excellent conclusion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meg Jones, her younger sister Mary and their parents have run through six witness protection placements. Each time, something goes awry, and they are swept right out of their old lives and right into new ones, with new names, new looks, new challenges—and the same old feeling that something just isn't quite right.

“Can you teach me how to shoot a gun?”
I‘ve been putting off asking Ethan this question for a week? It‘s now or never. We‘re in his truck, headed to the farm, and there is a practice range there that Ethan and his dad use to sight in their guns before hunting season.

This one is the immediate sequel to The Rules for Disappearing, which I read at the end of October but didn't have time to review. I really enjoyed Disappearing, although as a YA thriller it did require some belief suspension. I was intrigued to pick this one up and see where the story went. Whole Disappearing wrapped up nicely, it ended with a twist to lead into the sequel. Unfortunately, Breaking didn't work as well for me. The action here ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) was a lot more chaotic and not as cohesive. And while I actually liked Anna and Ethan together in the first book, despite the instalove, in this one there were times where Ethan's actions/words felt more possessive than protective, and that didn't sit well with me. It wasn't a bad read, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did Disappearing.

For November, I've completely changed my strategy for the short-term TBR! A bunch of books I just didn't get to went back on the shelves - maybe next year!! This month, I'm focusing on finishing/progressing a few series and also trying to completely the #19822022 challenge (only six books left!!). I'd also love to read the Scholomance trilogy since the third book came out, but I'm not sure I'll have time to tackle that one. Just Another Love Song⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) is a new book due back at the library, Honest Illusions will check off 1992, My Killer Vacation is for #LittensLoveRomance (a lil spicy for me, but I'm in it to win it now lol), the tagged book is a sequel to The Rules for Disappearing, which I read at the end of October. The next three are Leaphorn & Chee books - I really want to read at least one, hopefully two or three in this series this month. Money for Nothing is my next Wodehouse ⬇ 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) and honestly not high priority, but sometimes I just need a Wodehouse!! The Sherryl Woods book is the next in the Chesapeake Shores series that I keep thinking about bailing on. A Treason of Thorns and Full Moon are both #LMPBC reads. Greywaren concludes Stiefvater's Dreamer Trilogy (I'm also excited to read her summary of the first two books that she sent out to her email list haha). Borgel will check off 1990 and is one of my favorite ⬇ 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) Pinkwater books so I'm always up for a reread. Thorne of Jade is the next Temeraire book - another series I'd love to make some serious progress on this month. Dashing Into Disaster is the second book in a series of Austen variations that I borrowed from my sister like a year ago and should probably actually read and return 😂 And finally The Midnight Rose is just the next book on my library TBR and since I already have it from the ⬇ 2y

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) library, it feels like I should just go ahead and read it!!

So that's my #NovemberTBR / #WeeklyForecast - we'll see how far I can get!!

Clare-Dragonfly Why am I not on Maggie Stiefvater‘s email list?! I could definitely have used a summary of the first two books in the trilogy! 2y
TheAromaofBooks @Clare-Dragonfly - She does have an email list you can sign up for on her website, but I looked and actually the summaries came via her Substack, which I signed up for a while ago. If you still need the summaries, I would be happy to send them to you!! 2y
KristiAhlers Good luck to you! Those look like great reads! 2y
AnnR Wishing you good luck completing your challenge. Almost there! 2y
StayCurious Yes My Killer Vacation is much more spicy than I was expecting! But sometimes I‘m in the mood for that 😊 2y
Clare-Dragonfly Thanks! But that‘s OK, I already powered through my confusion and finished Greywaren 😆 2y

Enjoyed this sequel! I loved the New Orleans setting and the Casket Girls lore makes me hope for a spin off book with Teeny tracking down Francesca's story!

My cat Alabama is chilling on the chaise. I managed to snap the pic on the sly because she's not a huge fan of posing. #catsoflitsy
