It was an interesting. There were parts that I got annoyed at, but I still enjoyed the book.

I'ma try to do daily updates for the #bookspinbonanza. I calculated I need to average 176 pages a day to make it through my stack. Yesterday I got to 182 pages (33 of #1 "Tundra" and 149 of #2 "Ten Little Indians). Today i finished Ten Little Indians (94) and started #3 "Ponciá Vicencio" (60 pages so far) = 154. A bit behind already but the days not over yet! @TheAromaofBooks
My second #bookspinbonanza read (I'm still slogging through the first one). Highly enjoyable collection of nine short stories all staring Spokane Indians. Some repetitive themes from his other books (a lot of his characters play basketball and almost everyone has cancer), but varied enough to be fun reading all the way through. The first story (The Search Engine) was my favorite - reminiscent of Luis Borges. Definitely worth reading.
📘 I chose the blue books from my summer tbr stack and was ready when I came across this great photo opportunity!
👵🏻👨🏻🎤Again I‘m sorry to the old lady with punk rock blue hair that almost got hit by Auggie & Me!

This book of short stories felt connected, all taking place in the Seattle area and all mentioning the Spokane tribe.
Such a great collection of short stories. I think I had only read one of Alexis‘s short stories before for school (I don‘t think I enjoyed it that much back then). I am now a fan and will be looking for more of his books.
🤣🤣🤣
Oh my goodness, he finally settled on my lap. He‘s a big boy, so it was impossible to read while he was trying to find a comfy spot on me. Now back to reading, yay! 🤓📚💕😽

I settled on our comfy recliner with a glass of pink lemonade, low soothing instrumental jazz music in the background, and this gem...and here came #TwinkyToles. So much for my reading time. 😔 #CatMomProblems #Gingerbrat #CatsofLitsy #Littenkitten #catmom
I became a fan during an American lit class in college.
“...she‘d endured endless domestic interrogations about her bookish nature.”
😆brings back some memories...I wasn‘t interrogated at home, because they were used to my weirdness, but I was interrogated at school. A young Latina living in a not so great neighborhood in Chicago couldn‘t possibly be reading a book. She must be up to no good, somehow...
Corliss wondered what happens to a book that sits unread on a library shelf for thirty years. Can a book rightfully be called a book if it never gets read? If a tree falls in a forest and gets pulped to make paper for a book that never gets read, but there‘s nobody there to read it, does it make a sound?
She endured a contentious and passionate relationship with this Library. The huge number of books confirmed how much magic she‘d been denied for most of her life, and now she hungrily wanted to read every book on every shelf...Corliss wanted to read herself to death. She wanted to be buried in a coffin filled with used paperbacks.

She‘d been a resourceful thief, a narcissistic Robin Hood who stole a rich education from white people and kept it.
My little thrifty book haul today. I have low expectations for Fates & Furies, but it was only a $1 so no big loss.
So last night I told my husband, "Let's go to BnN, what time does it close?"
He gave me a crazy look, because it was 8pm and that's the time that I head upstairs for bed. After some googling I found out it closed at 10, so jumped up from the couch saying, "Let's go, I need to find something small for a gift for a friend."
1.5 hours later; red eyed, hungry, and ready to fall over at any moment this was the result of my crazy impulse... #BookAddict
This was so good and I struggle with short story collections usually. Sherman Alexie writes about everything here: poverty and homelessness, alcoholism, grief of losing parents, and the daily work of making a marriage. The collection really shows his range and talent as an author. You can add me to his fan club!
Litten PSA: My all-time fave collection of #shortstories is a steal today! Such heartwrenching, hilarious, beautiful, fully-realized tales. Get ready to feel the feels. All of them. #recommendsday
I had the exquisite pleasure of meeting Sherman Alexie earlier this year. He signed my favorite collection of #shortstories, adorning it with a semicolon. I assured him I use semicolons accurately and responsibly. #somethingforsept
Pardon the shit photo (taken from the back of an auditorium), but that's Sherman Alexie! I heard him speak last night & I learned an unexpected lesson about masterful storytelling. & he signed my copy of Ten Little Indians! I had to write about it on my blog. Seriously, best author talk EVER. 💯👏🏼
Brushing up on one of my all time favorite short story collections because I GET TO HEAR SHERMAN ALEXIE SPEAK TONIGHT AND I'M BEYOND EXCITED. My enthusiasm cannot be contained. 😍📚📖🙌🏼🤓
